================
I will probably rewrite this chapter at some point, I didnt like this one so if you wanna skip it here's a summary:
1)Sunny meets The High Priest of spell (name: Alex, probably not real. Rank: not revealed, its somewhere above transcendent though)
2) They talk and Sunny convinced them that he has the lineage of weaver (with the mask)
3) The next important thing is Sunny having a nightmare and the effects it has on him. It's readable enough, starts after the first ***
4) And the area around the end, read around the list (its basically a terms and conditions for the regression 💀).
================
"The high priest of the spell greets the child of Weaver!" The voice echoed the room, the dark stone walls literally shaking from the voice, and sunny himself felt a stronger push.
'I- I cant breathe'
"Leave the room" the High Priest spoke with overwhelming authority, the awakened girl left the room with a respectful bow.
'wait what the hell!? Why is an awakened able to stand that easily!' Sunny thought. Ok maybe it wasn't easily but still!
"Now child, introduce yourself"
"I-" Sunny struggled to speak.
"I will lift the pressure" the High Priest sighed and restrained more of his(?) pressure, probably with more consious effort this time.
"I am Sunless."
...
...
"Nothing else? Give me more dammit"
'What? Why's that priest like this?'
"Nothing else... You see an outskirt rat doesn't exactly have more identifications but if you must I'm a sleeper."
...
"Maybe I'm not human as well." Sunny would usually never respond like this but he wasn't sure how to– in this situation. Especially the last part, well the priest would most likely come to the conclusion that it was because of his demon core anyways, not the part where he was a slave. Well atleast he hoped that was the case.
Knowing his luck and well how the nightmare started maybe he was deluding himself. If he died would anyone care? Would anyone miss him? Would anyone even notice...? He did leave a mark before his first nightmare but was he satisfied with just that? 'Hell no, I wont die. Not like this. Not right now. Not until I atleast meet Rain. Not until I can atleast look at my parent's grave and ask if they are proud of me-' ok maybe not that. They wouldn't be proud of him and maybe nor would Rain, he didn't live an honost life so far and maybe living in the main city Rain would grow to hate slaves? He was a slave now. Yet he didn't care, just as he told hero, he would live through spite. (Or so he told himself)
"Tell me do you really carry the lineage of weaver?" The Priest spoke suddenly catching sunny off guard.
"Yes" Sunny said gritting his teeth, it was a forbidden lineage he would surely die if the wrong person heard him, he didn't know why but felt it was true anyways. 'This didn't just happen right after me reminding myself of why I want to live. Curse you [Fated].'
"What's the attribute called" the aura of the priest increased.
"B-B-Blood weave" Sunny said right before summoning Weaver's Mask.
"Ah! It is indeed you. I suppose I should apologise... You see this seed, this nightmare, you are in was meant for... contegencies if things were to go wrong. I suppose they did!" A chuckle escaped the Priest. "I should heal you" the Priest clapped his hands a figure left some kind of opening behind the walls, someplace Sunny couldn't see from "you can call me... Uh just call me Alex."
Sunny felt a little euphoric as his body began to heal, still oblivious to the fact it was someone else behind him, right before a blinding pain filled his body as his bones started to reform inside of him.
Sunny fought to stay silent, but the scream tore out of him anyway.
"My... subject will take you to your room, you can rest there tonight. Dinner would be provided to you and we will talk during breakfast."
Sunny was thinking of asking something before the question escaped his mouth, somehow "H-how did something go wrong? How do you know that." He usually would never just ask something like this to a strong person... Or well maybe a demigod... But it just escaped him. Alex's eyes twitched dangerously for a second before responding his question.
"Ah that would be the third enchantment of the mask you are wearing. Oh and do dismiss it, i wouldn't want you to ever lie to me would I?"
Sunny shivered, his face turned paler for a second before regaining his composure, and dismissed his mask. "No you wouldn't"
"Huh?"
"You asked the question." Sunny shrugged and turned around to leave the room, before seeing another man wearing Weaver's mask.
'Wait what the hell is that guy doing here. Better yet who is he?'
"Follow me" the guy bowed.
'Oh right i have to go to a room for "accomodance" '
Sunny decided to go along, not like he could do anything anyways.
***
Sunny woke up at night with tears and sweat. "W-why? Why me?"
It was the same nightmare, the same one that woke him up almost every night and left him more exhausted than he was before sleeping.
In the nightmare it was always the same thing first his parents dying than him seeing Rain getting adapted to him leaving and years later finding out she never needed his help followed by finally trusting someone... Only for it to break in the end and him having chains wrapped around him. Sometime later Sunny leaving the dream realm only to find that Nephis replaced him and became close to Rain, and Rain looking at him in disdain since he was a slave. Who knew how she changed after going to the main city with fresh air and good food. It would be just the same before he had his first Nightmare just worse. Maybe be would be obeying Nephis and serving her tea, cleaning her trash, and stuff every day ane maybe [Fated ] would make it much worse... Maybe she won't even let him visit his parent's grave, a place he visited atleast thrice a week back when he was in outskirts. His feelings became especially worse after he realised his feelings for her and saw how easy it was for her to toss him aside and as for what he thought about Rain... Half of it came from cassia's betrayal and again reminded him of a outskirt rat's worth, even Master Jet was overworked!
'I bet that she is having fun with her cohort' and maybe they would portray him as a villain for Caster's death. 'They won't even remember me'
It was almost like when he came back from dark city, all his insecurities were there, and he saw just how easily he was replaced, a second time won't be too hard. Infact, especially so, when he would probably be portrayed as a jealous villain! It would infact be very easy to do that, and believable!
'I will have to run as soon as I escape this Nightmare, there is no telling on what she would do as soon as I wake up... I cant even kill her if she gets a chance to give me commands'
It was heart breaking that she betrayed him that easily, how they betrayed him. It hurt much more than it should have. There was nothing in her eyes, no regret, no pain, nothing! when she betrayed him. And, as if to mock him, the spell took away the last distinction he had to think of himself as a human, by giving him a new core. He was easily betrayed. Discarded. Thrown away. And in the end even the spell gave him a monster core.
He heard a knock coming from outside which pulled him away from his thoughts. "Give me a bit, im coming" Sunny growled in frustration and relectantly got up, just now noticing he wasn't on the bed anymore. 'Now to figure out what the Nightmare is but do I even want to leave? Leave to be what? A slave? But he did have to kill Changing Star.
***
Sunny looked at the biggest dinner table he had ever seen in his life, surrounded by luxurious chairs, 'And a chandelier?' he questioned in his mind, the tables were filled with silver plates and spoons, some cloths for reasons unknown to him, probably made from silk. Sunny was given luxurious clothes too, just black in color, his preference. Even the bath he had earlier had a nice soap and a fluffy, comfortable towel, not the hard kind he got back in the outskirts. He couldn't even dream of something like this let alone actually seeing it with his own eyes! He tried to calculate the value of some things to no avail, since many things were something he never saw, and the rest he had no idea how much they sold in real world. He was certain of one thing though: even having one of these would let him live a decent life with fresh enough air! 'But wait are they trying to own me? Well too bad for them I'm already a slave-:l' well maybe they could just trap him there.
On the table there was a... Uh... Golden-Brown biscuit? Like thing with a grid like pattern, some dark liquid filling the gaps. It loomed crispy and soft. His mouth watered upon seeing something that wasn't monster meat in literally over a year. At night they gave him some meat, which, he usually would love but spending over a year eating monster meat was rather annoying! Especially since he was now truly alone with sub par cooking skills it had been a while since he had something good to eat.
"This is called waffles! Its a very delicious dessert in your time!"
"What the hell are waffles" Sunny thought out loudly, again not intending to 'wait why would this guy, Alex, know this?'
"Anyways do you want a second chance?" Sunny heard suddenly.
"What?"
'What does that mean?'
"As in going back I time of course! Or regressesing if you must" Alex said.
'What even is his rank to say he can do that?'
"I will give you a chance to go back in time if you complete certain conditions, oh and no killing the person who enslaved you"
"And then what? Suffer again? When would you even send me you bastard and I dont need false hope anymore... Not anymore. Not again. And what do you mean don't kill her? Huh!" he again said it out loud, angrily, probably because of the last three months of being alone again with no comfort of knowing people were around him. He winced and took a step back regretting his outburst.
"You know I can't just let you change things, the world depends on a few people and the people who did it are important"
"And what? I don't care about a world which treated me like this, why should I?" He said again, this time concious. He already had an outburst but-
'Maybe testing his patience is not a good idea.'
He was used by the people he cared about, for the one time after a long while at that.
"Don't you want to see your parents again?"
"And watch them die? Are you even going to let me do anything, assuming I even can, to save them?" Would they even want this him back? He lived a dishonest life whereas they lived a happy and honest one.
Alex took a bite of the food on the table "hmm this sure is good" he murmured satisifyingly. "Just eat first with a fresh mind and enjoy this lets not make the mood sour before a nice breakfast."
Sunny sighed.
'This bastard has some nerve! Damnation who drops something like this, gets a rude response and change moods this quickly.' But Sunny wasn't one to waste food, and knew better than, so he didn't complain much and dug in.
The food was pretty good, nothing like what he tasted before and, for a moment, he managed to forget everything that happened with Nephis Cassie and the rest...
They negotiated for around an hour or two, with Alex briefly explaining stuff about future... 'real timeline', [Fateless] and quite a bit more just to not let things go too off track. Both argued about a lot of things and the agreement came as followed:
1) Sunny had free reign over what he did in this timeline
2) Nephis won't die in the new one unless she forces him to stay, again.(Sunny reluctantly agreed but knew he could have find other ways to make her life harder)
3) Sunny could save his parents and leave the outskirts
4) Sunny would follow most of the things normally but could change some things (nothing being too major, like an extra awakened/ascended or two wouldn't hurt)
5) Sunny would have to become [Fateless] and chose a singular person to remember him (he already made his decision of chosing Rain, well atleast for right now)
6) Oh and sunny would learn making new memories!
"So wanna awaken naturally?" Alex asked suddenly causing Sunny to spit out the coffee which was just served. How coffee even existed here, Sunny wouldn't question it.
