Chapter 11 - chapter-11

Ethan leaned back against the wall, arms crossed, staring at the ceiling like the paint might start peeling just to entertain him. Hazel stood beside him, equally bored, lightly tapping her foot on the floor.

Ethan: "Man, this is so boring… Can't believe we got kicked out."

A moment passed, then he turned his head to look at her, a playful glint in his eyes.

Ethan: "Hm… so, why are you so silent all the time? Tell me your story or something."

Hazel raised an eyebrow without looking at him.

Hazel: "I already told you. You talk too much."

Ethan smirked, nudging her lightly with his elbow.

Ethan: "Yeah yeah, I know. But I'm just curious about you, that's all. You've got mystery vibes going on."

Hazel gave a small, sarcastic smile, shaking her head.

Hazel: "Maybe I like it that way."

Ethan: "That makes me want to know even more, you know."

Hazel rolled her eyes again, but this time with the tiniest hint of a smile.

Hazel turned to look at Ethan with a confused expression, eyebrows slightly raised.

Hazel: "My story?"

Then, suddenly, she laughed—short and amused, clearly not expecting him to be this persistent.

Ethan: "Yeah! Come on! Everyone has a story. You can't just show up all mysterious and quiet and expect me not to ask!"

Hazel smirked, folding her arms.

Hazel: "Why do you even care?"

Ethan: "Because I'm bored… and also because you're interesting. So yes, I demand your backstory now."

He put on a mock-serious face and pointed at her dramatically.

Ethan: "Hazel Knight, by the power vested in me by sheer boredom—I order you to tell me your story."

Hazel shook her head, chuckling again.

Hazel: "You're insane."

Ethan: "Yes, but now you're smiling, so I win."

She bit her lip trying not to smile again, sighing in defeat.

Hazel: "Fine. But don't complain if it's boring."

Ethan: "Impossible. Hit me with it."

Hazel looked ahead, thinking where to begin—finally..

Meanwhile in seniors classroom—

The room was quiet, half the class pretending to pay attention, the other half zoning out—including Drake, who had his head tilted slightly against the wall, eyes closed, clearly trying to nap.

Caleb, sitting next to him, leaned over with a mischievous grin.

Caleb: "Psst… Drake… hey… Drake…"

Drake didn't respond.

Caleb smirked and poked him on the arm.

Caleb: "Wake up, Sleeping Beauty. What if the prince comes before you open your eyes?"

Still no reaction.

So Caleb pulled out a pen and tapped it against Drake's notebook rhythmically—tap tap tap—until Drake's brow twitched in irritation.

Finally, Drake opened one eye, giving him a deadly glare.

Drake (groggy): "Do you have a death wish?"

Caleb: "Nah, just bored. And you're too peaceful, it's suspicious."

Drake groaned, sat up, and rubbed his face.

Drake: "Remind me why I sit near you."

Caleb (grinning): "Because deep down, you love me."

Drake muttered something under his breath and tossed a crumpled paper at him, trying not to smirk.

On the other side of the classroom, Levi was in full charm mode—chin resting on his hand, flashing that signature smirk—as he leaned toward the self-proclaimed Dramatic Queen of their class, Brielle.

Levi: "So, melis, tell me… how does it feel being the most dramatic person in the entire school? Must be exhausting carrying that much flair."

Melissa(flipping her hair): "Oh darling, it's not a choice, it's a lifestyle. And not everyone is built for it."

Levi (laughing): "Clearly. That crown must be heavy."

Melissa (smirking): "Not as heavy as your ego."

The boys sitting nearby chuckled, but Levi only grinned wider.

Levi: "Touché. I like you more when you roast me."

Melissa: "And I like you more when you shut up."

Levi leaned back, hands up in surrender, still smirking like he'd won.

Zayn squinted at Levi with a suspicious look, arms crossed, clearly not buying his smooth act.

Zayn: "Urgh bruu… don't tell me you love Melissa the Drama Queen?"

Everyone nearby turned to listen, sensing incoming chaos.

Levi (looking scandalized): "Are you for real right now?"

Levi: "Love her? Bro, I'm not mental, okay?"

Levi: "I flirt for sport, not for suffering."

The whole gang burst into laughter, and Caleb nearly choked on his gum.

Zayn (teasing): "You sure? I saw that twinkle in your eye."

Levi (dramatically wiping his face): "That was a reflex, not romance."

Lucas (laughing): "Man's out here dodging love like it's homework."

Levi smirked and leaned back again, proud of his chaos.

Ben stood up slowly, adjusting his shirt collar like a model student.

Ben (politely): "Miss, may I go to the washroom?"

The teacher, who had just scolded half the class for not paying attention, paused and looked at him. He was always quiet, neat, and respectful—basically her favorite.

Miss (nodding): "Of course, Ben. Go ahead."

As Ben walked out like a golden boy, the rest of the gang stared in disbelief.

Caleb (whispering to Drake): "If I asked that, she'd throw the chalk at me."

Drake (smirking): "Ben could ask to leave the country, and she'd pack his bags."

Levi (grinning): "Teacher's pet activated."

They all chuckled quietly, while Ben casually strolled out, hiding a mischievous grin behind his "perfect student" mask.

Ben wandered through the hallways with absolutely no intention of going to the washroom. Hands in pockets, he strolled like he owned the building, yawning every few minutes just to prove how bored he truly was.

Ben (thinking): "Man… this school needs a refresh button."

After casually circling half the school, he found himself in unfamiliar territory—the juniors' section.

Ben (raising a brow): "Oops. How did I end up here?"

He shrugged, unbothered, and kept walking. That's when he spotted two familiar faces standing by the wall—Ethan and… Hazel?

Ben slowed down, narrowing his eyes as he walked right in front of them, giving them a slow, confused side-eye like he was analyzing a science experiment.

Hazel and Ethan both blinked.

Hazel (thinking): "…What was that?"

Ethan (murmuring): "Did he just scan us like barcodes?"

Ben didn't stop. He just kept walking, mumbling to himself:

Ben (quietly): "Definitely not the washroom… but definitely more interesting."

Hazel and Ethan just stood there, staring at his retreating figure.
