Chapter 7 - Chapter seven

A gasp was heard in the cafeteria and murmurs of disbelief traveled through the hall.

"Melissa" Alvin called through her head but he was ignored.

Harris eyes widened as he made to pull his hands but Melissa did not budge. His palms became sweaty and beads of sweat could be seen on his forehead.

"Let go" His voice was shaky as waves of pain swept through his hands.

"What? Are you going to bully him again?" She asked with a smirk.

"I…I won't"He let out a gasp mid sentence.

"Better" Melissa smirked and released his hand. She turned to look at Alvin who had a frown on his face.

"Hey stop frowning, I did not cause trouble right?" She shrugged and gave an innocent smile.

"I wish I can stand up for him like her but I was the reason he was being bullied" Malia mumbled.

"Stop blaming yourself" Anne said her eyes fixed on Melissa who was engrossed in her food with her earlier encounter with Harris shoved to the back of her head.

The rest classes went by in a blur and soon it was end of school.

Anne climbed onto her bike when the two sirens came out to meet her.

"They are the Demons and they are here for you" Chloe said.

"I know" Anne had already guessed it given their unusual admission to school.

"So we would be coming to your school from now as humans" Laila said and Anne gave a nod before driving off.

Next morning. Moonlight High.

Chloe and Laila drove a car into the school and the students turned to look at them.

"Another set of newbies" Someone commented.

"She is pretty" a junior said pointing at Chloe.

"Not like the one of yesterday" Someone countered and the junior nodded in agreement.

"Damn Demons" Chloe cursed as her ears picked what the junior said.

"I thought you didn't care about these things" Laila said amused.

"I don't but…" Chloe frowned slightly as two cars drove into the school.

"Here she comes" Someone shouted excitedly.

Melissa got down from the car and her eyes swept past the school just stopping at the sirens face for a moment before continuing.

"Not bad" She commented and walked away.

Class went in a blur and soon it was time for lunch break.

The students headed to the cafeteria with Shawn and Chelsea on Melissa and her group table.

Malia took a glance at the table and turned to her food shoving it into her mouth.

"Take it easy girl" Anne said with her eyes fixed on Alvin.

"It hurts" A stray tear dropped into her food and she got up noisily pushing her chair away and running away from the cafeteria.

"We should go after her" Tracy made to get up.

"She needs some time alone, she have to get over this and gain control of her emotions" Anne said.

"It's not that easy, you know" Tracy countered with a sigh.

"But she need to" Anne said and turned her attention to Alvin.

"Wow, girl you're obsessed" Tracy teased.

"Coming from you, do better" Anne rolled her eyes.

Malia climbed to the rooftop allowing the cold wind to brush past her face. She closed her eyes and flashes of his smiling face when he was with Melissa and Chelsea came to her mind clashing with his bruised face when he was beaten by Harris because of her. She took a deep breath and her eyes shot open as she heard footsteps coming from being her. She turned sharply to see a smirking Harris.

"What do you want" Her voice quivered.

"Waiting for him, Malia get over your delusion, he doesn't want you and is too lazy to care about you" Harris spat out.

"It's all your fault, bastard" Malia snapped.

Harris took menacing steps towards her and grabbed her a handful of her hair.

"What did you say?" He growled at her.

"It hurts" Malia whined and her lips were covered by Harris who took her in a dominating kiss.

"Hmm…" She tried to push him away but that only infuriated him further as he pulled her closer grabbing her boobs roughly.

Tears fell from Malia eyes wishing for Shawn to just appear but he was not forthcoming and then she braced her mind for it. It was all just her delusion, he was never interested in her. It hurts but she had to take it in good faith. She kicked Harris on his groin and he let out a hiss releasing her from his grip.

She ran away to the rest room washing her face.

Lunch break was over and yet Malia was no where to be seen causing her friends to be anxious.

In no time, Malia appeared as the door of the class room, her hair down and wide sunglasses to conceal her reddened eyes. She walked up to Anne and Tracy with a smile on her face.

"Malia, are you alright?" Anne asked.

"I am" She replied curtly and just then the teacher walked into class.

School was over and Malia waved Anne and Tracy bye before getting on her car.

She stopped her car at her favorite ice cream shop and walked over.

"Strawberry flavor" She ordered and turned her eyes round the room before settling on a familiar figure - Larry. She picked up her cup of ice cream and walked over to him.

"Malia, what are you doing here?" Larry asked surprisedly and Malia tool off her glasses revealing her swollen eyes. "You've been crying" He remarked and moved closer to her.

"It hurts… I never knew he hates me that much"Malia mumbled.

"What are you talking about?" Larry asked as he scooped her face in his hands. "Is this another of your numerous boyfriends?"

"It's not but I will get over it, I promise" She said.

Next day, Moonlight High.

Melissa was on her way to the rest room when Chloe and Laila stopped her.

"What are you guys doing?" She asked with a smirk.

"We should be asking you that question" Chloe fired back.

"Ugh" Melissa groaned and made to pass but Chloe pushed her back and positioned herself.

"Aaaahhhhhh…." She let out a high pitched scream but Melissa stood unfazed.

"Is this all you get, I'm sorry" She smiled at Chloe and walked away.

"What the hell happened?" Chloe turned to look at Laila.

"There is a myth that royal blooded Demons are not affected by ordinary screams except they have an emotional connection to the screamer" Laila explained.

"She won't smile long" Chloe said and walked away.
