Liu A'dou had always thought about stealing from Batman ever since he crossed over, and now, he finally had the chance to make it happen.
In the past, he only knew that the Batcave was located underground in Wayne Manor, but since both Wayne Manor and the surrounding land belonged to Bruce Wayne, he never had the opportunity to enter and find the entrance to the Batcave.
Batman's car took a small road and quickly arrived at the outskirts of the city, heading straight towards his base. Alfred, the butler, was anxiously waiting. Though the young master's vital signs were normal and it seemed like he was just sleeping, Alfred wouldn't feel at ease until he confirmed it in person.
The Batmobile, covered in black invisible material, had a specially treated engine, so its sound was very quiet, blending perfectly into the darkness, fitting Batman's style. If it weren't for the launcher, Liu A'dou wouldn't have been able to keep up.
However, the target that Kaitou Kid had set his sights on wasn't about to escape. The surroundings became more desolate, the trees thicker, and the path turned into dirt roads, making it difficult to follow on rollerblades. So, Liu A'dou switched to walking.
Finally, the red dot representing the Batmobile stopped, and Liu A'dou carefully approached. The Batcave was nearby, and he had to be cautious not to get discovered.
Only the moonlight shone down, illuminating the center of the dirt path. Fallen leaves acted as bricks, and shadows formed the image. The path stretched deep into the forest. Liu A'dou even felt as though he had walked onto another planet. The sounds of insects filled the air, and the distant sound of flowing water could be heard. He could only hear it, not see it, and the moonlight seemed too stingy to reveal the far distance. This frustrated Liu A'dou.
After walking for a while, Liu A'dou still hadn't found the entrance to the Batcave. However, he firmly believed he hadn't gotten lost because the sound of water was getting louder and louder, until it became deafening.
When he thought there was no way forward, suddenly a path turned, and a small waterfall appeared in the moonlight. This was the entrance to the Batcave. Hidden behind the waterfall deep in the forest, no one would ever imagine that Batman hid here.
Liu A'dou attached a rope to his magic card gun and prepared to make his move.
He swung past the waterfall into a hidden world. He wondered if Batman knew about the water curtain cave like Sun Wukong's. It was quite similar.
Today, Liu A'dou didn't have a fixed target. He was simply looking for good items to steal, preferably those that would increase his cool factor as Kaitou Kid.
Back at Wayne Manor, Alfred carefully checked the young master and confirmed that he was only asleep, finally feeling relieved. He gently removed the heavy bat suit from him and helped the young master back to bed. At that moment, Kaitou Kid entered. He knew there must be cameras here, but he didn't care about being caught on tape.
The Batcave had the Batmobile parked in the middle. Standing next to it, Liu A'dou observed his surroundings. It was as impressive as he had imagined. The supercomputer was massive, and the large screen was definitely a nice setup for watching movies.
Beside the supercomputer, there were two wardrobes: one for Batman's suit and another for Robin's red shirt and black shorts.
After a year of being here, this was the first time Liu A'dou realized Batman had already found Robin. But why hadn't he seen Robin before? Could it be that this was the time when the first Robin left Batman to attend college?
It didn't matter. He would focus on his target. Turning to the side, he noticed a hospital bed surrounded by analysis instruments. These were valuable items, but they were immovable.
Looking further, on the other side of the supercomputer, there was a place where Batman prepared his gear. It was very neat, with various small items hanging on the wall.
However, these bat-shaped items weren't Liu A'dou's target. The small round bombs at the bottom were much better. He grabbed a handful and stuffed them into his pocket. Consider this his interest payment.
Liu A'dou continued searching for his target. Finally, his eyes landed on a perfect piece of equipment: a black motorcycle. Its two wide wheels made it look incredibly stable, as though it would never fall over.
"This is my target," Liu A'dou thought, his heart racing. He was drawn to the motorcycle's mechanical feel and exaggerated design. His heart told him that this motorcycle belonged to Kaitou Kid.
Liu A'dou restrained his impulse and didn't take action immediately. He first checked for any signal jammers, as he certainly didn't want to be counter-surveilled. As expected, Batman had installed self-destruct devices on almost all of his equipment to prevent his technology from falling into the wrong hands. The self-destruct device was bound to the signal transmitter, meaning that if the signal transmitter was tampered with, the self-destruct device would be triggered.
However, such devices were only effective against amateurs. Liu A'dou, being Kaitou Kid, and more importantly, having crossed over to this world, was no ordinary thief. He swiftly danced his fingers through the air, disassembling the signal transmitter and the self-destruct device with his bare hands in just a few seconds. It took no more than a few dozen seconds. Afterward, Liu A'dou started the motorcycle, spun around in the center of the Batcave to increase speed, and then charged toward the waterfall.
Bruce Wayne was sleeping soundly, rarely having such a deep sleep. When he finally opened his eyes, the sunlight shining through the curtains' gap indicated that it must be at least 10 a.m.
"Master, did you sleep well?" Alfred, who was cleaning, saw Bruce walking out of his room in his bathrobe and immediately approached him.
Bruce remembered the last thing that happened was Kaitou Kid ambushing him, and it seemed like he was poisoned. But now, he felt completely refreshed. "It was great."
"That's wonderful, because I have some bad news. You should be able to handle it now," Alfred said calmly, as if it wasn't a big deal.
"What happened?"
"The house was broken into last night," Alfred said with a calm expression, as if it wasn't urgent.
"Burglars?" Bruce didn't believe it. "What was stolen?"
"I think there was something stolen. The Batcycle that was parked in the Batcave is gone, Master."
Bruce's reaction was one of shock. He immediately ran to the Batcave and, sure enough, couldn't find the Batcycle. "Computer, display yesterday's surveillance footage."
"Yes, sir!"
The screen displayed footage from when Kaitou Kid had visited. Batman had no idea that he was being followed.
"Master, in addition to the Batcycle, eleven small throwing bombs are also missing," Alfred said, leisurely entering the Batcave and taking his time to speak.
Bruce didn't want to hear any more. He rushed to the Batmobile, circled it, and quickly discovered the signal transmitter.
Then he checked the suit and found several needles attached to the cape.
He collected everything for examination.
Losing the Batmobile was minor, but the exposure of the Batcave was major. Batman had to take this seriously.
"This is a short-range signal transmitter. Clearly, Kaitou Kid has been following me the whole way yesterday," Bruce said with a grim expression. This was the first time since becoming Batman that someone had intruded into his lair.
"So, what about the needles that gave you such a good night's sleep?" Alfred teased.
"This is a special oxidizing agent with strong hypnotic effects. Once it enters the body, it decomposes immediately and takes effect, showing results within ten seconds. It's extremely potent."
"Maybe you could buy some in bulk from Kaitou Kid to help you sleep. It could be beneficial," Alfred teased again.
"Alfred, I don't need sleep aids. My sleep has always been fine," Bruce replied. In the Shadow Warrior League, he learned a special breathing technique that allowed him to stay energized with minimal sleep. "Given the situation, Kaitou Kid isn't just a regular thief or magician. He has exceptional talent in chemistry, mechanics, and combat, along with extensive research."
"Are you suggesting that Kaitou Kid is another version of you?" Alfred quipped.
"He dismantled my security system in such a short time. Where did he learn all this knowledge?" Bruce pondered. If someone had the ability to develop powerful tranquilizer oxidizers, they surely wouldn't be obscure, but there was no clue to follow.
No one would ever guess that Kaitou Kid had actually crossed over from another world, and his skills came from another dimension.
