Chapter 15 - INTERLUDE I

Lex Luthor had one rule in life: Never be surprised.

That's why he had a failsafe AI, a magic ward, three kinds of Kryptonite, four universal scan satellites, and a coffee mug that could deflect bullets.

So yeah. Being surprised? Not part of the plan.

And yet—he was.

Cadmus facilities around the world? Falling apart one after the other. Clone pods? Gone. DNA vaults? Emptied. No alarms. No bodies. Just… silence.

Except one thing showed up every time: Nexus.

And his signature? Not bombs. Not threats. Just a message: "Cloudy with a chance of freedom."

Cadmus Berlin? One clone pod opened clean. A yellow sticky note slapped on the glass:

"Beta, tumse na ho payega."("Kid, you're just not cut out for this.")

Lex paused the footage. Zoomed in. Rewound. Scowled.

Cadmus Taipei? Entire staff found sleeping. Systems wiped. And someone had written across an entire wall in animated ASCII text:

"Main aisa kyun hoon?"("Why am I like this?") Like—existential crisis meets sparkle core.

The security drones were stuck mid-spin, all playing a remix of Dhoom Machale. Yes, the Bollywood one. The logs? Every single one ended with:

"Picture abhi baaki hai mere Lex."("The movie's not over yet, Lex.") Because of course Nexus is quoting Shah Rukh Khan while wrecking your black site.

And just when Lex thought it couldn't get worse?

Wonder Woman went on live TV, demanding international trials for biological warfare.

Superman backed her. Batman didn't say anything. Just stared at Lex like gravity had failed him personally.

Lex kept it together.

Until Cadmus Buenos Aires vanished.

The security feed? Gone.

Just a flicker. A pop. Nexus appeared. Dropped a one-liner:

"Kya aapke Cadmus mein clone hai?"("Does your Cadmus have a clone?") Spoofing an old Indian toothpaste commercial. Because why not.

And poof. Gone.

Lex watched the logs. Over and over. No hacking. No brute force. Just… entry. Like a cosmic prank.

"He's not a meta. Not a hacker. He's a one-man anti-franchise," Lex muttered.

He tapped his AI console.

"Update threat profile. Nexus is now… I don't know… 'Bollywood troll with powers.'"

"Confirmed."

Lex took a sip of whiskey.

"He breaks into Cadmus and leaves punchlines. For what?"

BEEP. New breach alert. Cadmus Nairobi.

The entire database replaced with four words:

"Tu villain nahi, supporting cast hai."("You're not the villain—you're just part of the background cast.")

Lex stood up so fast his chair screeched.

"MERCY!! PREP THE THINK TANK. TELL THEM WE'RE FIGHTING A BOLLYWOOD-POWERED ANOMALY WITH A GOD COMPLEX."
