Chapter 49 - The Luxury Convoy in Front of the Academic Affairs Building

To Li Qiao, this whole situation was just completely overblown.

At that moment, Li Jun spoke coldly through the phone, "I don't need to mention your identity—he knows what to do. Third Brother already told me everything that happened at your school. Don't worry. I'll handle this for you."

"…Alright then, thanks, Big Brother."

After ending the call, Li Qiao curved her lips into a faint smile and finally strolled outside at an unhurried pace.

She had never intended to hurt anyone—but that didn't mean she was someone to mess with.

As for Chen Lizhou and Jiang Yi? Well… their downfall would be of their own making.

By now, it was already past 11:30. Many students had left their classrooms, heading out in search of food.

The layout of the medical university campus was shaped roughly like a triangle.

The academic and administrative buildings stood side by side in the east, while the dining halls and sports facilities were located in the south.

So the Academic Affairs Building happened to be the only route to the cafeteria.

Just as Li Qiao stepped out from the lobby, she hadn't even lifted her head before the sound of noisy commotion from outside reached her ears.

Although the med school had many students, such a crowd was rare unless there was an official event going on.

With both hands in her pockets, Li Qiao walked down the steps and cast a lazy glance toward the crowd—and immediately froze.

Under the canopy of trees flanking the path outside the Academic Affairs Building was a row of luxury black cars, all the same model and color, parked conspicuously along the curb.

Every vehicle bore the distinctive logo of Yanhuang Group, and beside each one stood a bodyguard in black.

Students gathered in small crowds under the shade, watching intently with eyes full of curiosity, admiration, and awe.

This was the epitome of power, wealth, and status.

At the very front of the convoy stood a bodyguard with a familiar face.

Li Qiao tilted her head and blinked her doe-like eyes, then casually looked down as she continued descending the steps.

Why is Shang Yu here?

After descending a dozen or so steps, the moment Li Qiao looked up, Liu Yun happened to arrive in front of her.

"Miss Li, are you alright?"

Such a question made Li Qiao raise her eyebrows in amusement.

"What could possibly be wrong with me?"

Liu Yun pressed his lips together, then glanced toward one of the cars behind him.

"What happened at the thesis defense today—our boss already knows. We've contacted the university president. You don't have to worry. He'll personally step in and handle everything for you."

Li Qiao froze for a moment, falling silent: "…"

Was there even a need for her to worry?

Wasn't this the definition of overkill?

A trivial little drama, and it had managed to alarm the overlord of Nanyang. What an "honor."

She reached up to rub her forehead and sighed silently.

"He's in the car?"

"Yes, please follow me."

With a relaxed stride, Li Qiao followed Liu Yun toward the center of the convoy. At the same time, Chen Lizhou and Lu Wen stepped out of the Academic Affairs Building side by side.

The logo of the Yanhuang Group was known by everyone in Nanyang.

Upon seeing that impressive fleet of cars, Chen Lizhou immediately felt like he couldn't breathe—like he was drowning.

The Yanhuang convoy…

Which meant the person inside could only be Shang Shaoyan.

And Li Qiao? Not only did she seem close to the secretary general, but she also personally knew Shang Shaoyan?

Chen Lizhou realized, with a sense of dread—he was probably finished.

Lu Wen, on the other hand, didn't notice these nuances. Quietly sticking close to Chen Lizhou, the two stood at the entrance watching for a while before quickly slipping out of the building through the side door.

Then came Jiang Yi, walking out like a lost soul, her steps unsteady and her cheeks swollen red.

What she saw was this:

Beside the eye-catching and aggressive fleet of luxury cars, Li Qiao walked slowly to the center. A suited bodyguard politely opened the car door for her, even holding a hand above the roof to shield her head.

As the door opened, through the narrow gap, Jiang Yi caught a glimpse of a man inside—dressed in black, with a powerful and noble air about him.

Even though she could only vaguely see the side of his face, it was enough to make Jiang Yi's heart race with fear.

Because there are some people—with just a single glance—who make you realize just how out of reach they truly are.
