Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Farewell, My Friend

Directing the Senju kid to haul the purchased goods into his new mansion, Uchiha Gin had no intention of lifting a finger himself.

Slipping away while Senju Banma toiled, Gin wandered to the backyard, ready to face today's refreshed NPC.

Sipping tea on his recliner, he pondered tomorrow's mission. Could Uchiha Yao be right—was it about unsealing Uchiha Hikari?

Taking a sip of warm tea, Yao's words lingered like a thorn, unsettling his plans to coast.

"Here we go?" Gin muttered, sensing the air tighten. A rippling curtain appeared, and a figure emerged.

"Knew it," Gin sighed, eyeing the familiar foe. With luck, he'd collect enough fragments today.

"Let's have a real fight!" Clapping his hands, Gin's aura surged. Bolstered by Uzumaki bloodline enhancements, his chakra reserves had skyrocketed—no need to conserve.

"Take my blazing Fire Release!" Forming seals, hot chakra gathered in his mouth. Completing the signs, he unleashed a roaring inferno at the dazed Uchiha Itachi.

[Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique]

Using one of the host's few offensive jutsu, Gin's Sharingan locked onto Itachi, awaiting his move.

As the massive fireball neared Itachi's frail form, black streaks flickered across it.

Amaterasu's black flames devoured Gin's fireball, reducing the colossal blaze to nothing in moments.

Amaterasu could do that? Stunned by the flame-eating fire, Gin seized Itachi's post-jutsu lag. His right eye gleamed, and black lotus flames bloomed on Itachi.

Watching Amaterasu burn, Gin thought, After all these tries, gotta hit once, right?

Wrong. The flaming Itachi shattered, dissolving into scattering crows.

Classic Crow Clone Technique. Gin's eyes darted, tracking Itachi's real body.

The crows dispersed, but Itachi didn't reappear. In the eerie silence, Gin, on guard, threw an elbow backward.

[Uchiha Taijutsu Secret: Jailbreak Elbow Strike]

Feeling solid contact, Gin smirked.

Itachi, materializing behind for a sneak attack, finally took a real hit.

Perhaps due to his Hyuga bloodline fusion, Gin's eyes caught traces of Itachi's chakra, his vision range vastly improved.

Every move of Itachi's crow-hidden ambush was crystal clear.

Gin's elbow, infused with Monster Strength, could split mountains. It sent Itachi flying dozens of meters, crashing into a nearby boulder, motionless.

No system prompt came. Frowning, Gin cautiously approached to check.

Reaching for his "old friend," Itachi vanished in a puff of smoke.

Shadow Clone! Alarm bells rang. Sensing danger, Gin moved to retreat, but orange hands materialized, seizing him inescapably.

Dirty! This "one-versus-seven" NPC, bullying a frail shinobi with a Susanoo sneak attack.

Gin lamented the NPC's cunning tactics, outsmarting him with strategy.

Inside the orange Susanoo, Itachi wasn't unscathed. Gin's elbow had landed hard.

Blood trickled from his mouth. Knowing time was short, Itachi pushed through chest pain, his eyes morphing into pinwheels, unleashing chilling chakra at the trapped Gin.

[Tsukuyomi]

Caught off guard in Susanoo's grip, Gin fell to the genjutsu.

Nailed to a cross in the Tsukuyomi space, Gin shook his head, resigned. Still no match for the NPC.

Facing the swarm of Itachis, he sighed, "Last time, huh? Can you not stab—"

Before he finished, Itachi drove a blade into the unmentioned spot.

"You little punk, just wait! I'll outlast you till you're born, then we'll see who's boss!" Gin, stabbed to despair, roared his final threat.

His words only sped up Itachi's stabs. Among the cold clones, one wielding a knife showed a faint, unique expression.

With a subtle smirk, it dutifully stabbed Gin's lower body, then turned, its blank face twitching upward.

Seventy-two hours dragged by. Gasping, Gin collapsed on the backyard ground.

"Backyard Daily Random Skill Refresh: [Genjutsu: Tsukuyomi]. Obtained Tsukuyomi Fragment 10…"

[Tsukuyomi Fragment (40/40). Collect 40 to synthesize Genjutsu: Tsukuyomi. Requires Mangekyo Sharingan.]

Finally complete! Tears welled in Gin's eyes—no more Uchiha "one-versus-seven" torture. Trembling, he tapped the fragments to synthesize.

"[Genjutsu: Tsukuyomi] Synthesis Successful."

The hard-earned fragments merged in the air, a flash of light yielding the official Tsukuyomi skill card.

"Learn it!" Gin frantically tapped, dreaming of mastering Tsukuyomi and soaring.

"Learning Failed…"

A big red X flashed, stunning him.

Why? After enduring countless Tsukuyomis for these fragments, it fails? All that suffering for nothing?

"@$%!"
