Eons ago, when the people of this planet first began to organize and build cities, and the land was still wild and untamed, Azaacar walked the worldly plain. She was the goddess of nature. Her brother, Aquarius, was the god of the sea. Their father, Solaris, was the god of light that ruled the sky. Together they kept the planet in harmony and at peace, the first men showered them with praise and constant offerings.
This made Alucard, Solaris' twin brother, extremely jealous. He was the god of the night and his bride, Luna, was the goddess of death. The first men feared them immensely. They blamed Alucard for the darkness in their hearts and painted him as a monster. They blamed Luna when their loved ones passed, always claiming she took them early.
One day the first men found the mountain where Solaris made his home and stole his Sword of Eternity. Soon after, as Luna walked in the night, seeking a soul for her to guide to the here-after, a group of first men pursued her. They did not believe that death was a natural part of life. They thought if they killed the goddess of death, they could stop their loved ones from dying.
They cornered her in the woods, surrounding her on all sides. The goddess was a gentle soul, never wanting to use her power to take a life. She never even fought back as they ran her through with the only weapon in existence that could kill a god. The resulting quake alerted her husband to her plight. Only the death of a god could shake the entire world.
He appeared at her side as quick as a fleeting shadow. He held her gingerly in his arms and the light faded from her eyes. His mournful wail was like the sound of a thousand wolves howling at once. Her energy flowed into him as her soul moved on and her body faded from this plane. That influx of power from his beloved, along with his boiling rage, transformed him from the brooding god of the night to the vengeful god of darkness.
The men who perpetrated this deed, foolishly stood and watched everything transpire in awe, rooted in place by fear. Alucard let out a mighty roar filled with rage and pain that was heard the world over. With a wave of his hand he wiped the thirty men from existence. Only then did he see the weapon that killed his bride. The weapon that belonged to his brother. He believed that Solaris had conspired to take from him the one thing in this world he loved. In that moment Alucard swore to destroy everything that his brother held dear, starting with the wretched humans.
Alucard raced for the nearest settlement and tore apart every living thing within. He razed the settlement to the ground and started for the next. Solaris met him half way between the two towns, where they fought savagely, unyielding for days on end until neither god could stand. Every blow landed by either God sent shock-waves through the entire continent and decimated the landscape around them. Their battle turned a lush forest into a charred wasteland. Only now is the grass returning to the area.
As they both fell to their knees, panting from exhaustion, Aquarius made his move. He tried to sneak in behind Alucard, intent on aiding his father. The young god was no match for Alucard even in his weakened state. As Aquarius leapt for his mark, Alucard caught him by the throat and slammed him to the ground, breaking his neck. Solaris, enraged by what happened to his son, rushed Alucard and was stabbed in the gut for his effort.
Azaacar, in fear for the lives of her brother and father, appeared on the battlefield in a flash of light, blinding Alucard temporarily, and whisked them away. Alucard continued his rampage while Azaacar desperately tended to her family in her realm.
The two gods, knowing their death was imminent, gave up their power to Azzacar and charged her with stopping her uncle. As their lights faded, Azaacar returned to face Alucard as he was ravaging another city. She transported him to the northern icecap. He raged against her, attacking her with everything he had. Azaacar with her new found power easily deflected blow after blow. Finally, she used chains of ice to bind him, encased him in an icy coffin, and buried him deep in the frozen ground.
Knowing he would one day return she set up sanctuaries, and empowered the pure of heart, at each of the cardinal directions to keep watch. Hoping they would never be needed. Over the centuries, Alucard slowly spread his influence through the world by speaking to the minds of wicked men.
He appealed to their desires and their vices, making promises that he can fulfill whatever they hunger after if they gave in to him, if they let him in. Once they did, he possessed them, using their bodies like a puppet for his own ends. with them as his puppets, he committed the darkest of atrocities. Every time he showed his head Azaacar would find a champion to stand up and rid the world of his influence.
In the time of king Ray I, many vied for power and influence. Alucard's influence spread far and wide, causing men to fight, kill and subjugate each other with very little provocation. Azaacar was grieved by this wickedness and was planning to wipe the world of men clean.
King Ray, of his own accord, took the world of men by storm, destroying the evil kingdoms, bringing peace To the world and unknowingly ridding the world of Alucard's influence. Azaacar In turn blessed him and his bloodline to stand as the protectors of this world to this very day.
When Jarka finished her story, Marcus gave a low whistle. "Wow, that was one heck of a story. so how do you free someone of alucard's influence, once they're possessed?"
Moco shook his head and answered for her. "Death is the only way. no one knows whether his hosts give in willingly, or if he grinds them down over time until he finally dominates them. history has only shown one thing, once he has control, his control is absolute."
All eyes in turn went to Marley. he returned their questioning, sorrowful gazes and shook his head. "This changes nothing. Greyson would have been an evil overlord without the influence of some ancient angry god. I started this journey to bring freedom to all of you. this was always going to end in bloodshed."
