"What should we do?" Charlotte asked.
"We have three options." Dimitri said.
"First, we kill the demon king and become the new rulers of the demon race. Second, we turn to the humans and try to side with them. Third, we live an isolated life."
"Second option is out." Devon immediately said.
"Yeah, we're demons now, we'll probably be attacked. That leaves option one and three."
"So basically, be a demon king or be isolated." Julia clarified.
"It seems like a simple choice, right?" Charlotte asked.
"Yeah, option 3." Devon said.
"Now, where will we live?" Dimitri asked.
"Why not here? It looks pretty isolated." Charlotte said as she gestured towards the massive open field stretching as far as the naked eye can see.
"That's a good idea Charlotte." Dimitri said.
"Okay, let's see how these wings work." Dimitri said as he started focusing on his wings. The next second, his wings started flapping and he started levitating. He then flew up and around at incredible speeds before he returned to the other three.
"It's so easy to fly, it feels like these wings have been part of my body for years." Dimitri said before flying off again. The other three tried it too and soon enough, all four were flying
After flying a while, they eventually settled down and overlooked the area, trying to find the perfect place to build their house.
"Okay, why don't we split into four small houses next to each other in that flat area over there." Dimitri said as he pointed to a rather flat area.
"Three houses." Julia said.
"Huh?"
"Devon and I will share a house and you two can have your own house."
"Ugh, I can't with you two." Dimitri said.
"So, how do we build a house?" Devon asked the obvious question everyone overlooked.
"Right, uh, can't we just use magic?" Charlotte asked.
"We can try." Dimitri said, turning to look at where he wants his house. He closed his eyes and started focusing on the element he wanted his house out of. After getting a grasp on the element, he started focusing on the shape of the house. After getting the picture in his head, he started pouring his mana, imagining how it would work. Although his eyes were closed, he could sense how an object started forming in front of him and after the image finished in his mind, he opened his eyes and there it was.
"Are you kidding me? Can't you just be normal for once?" Devon complained.
Although his house was small and looked perfect, there was one problem. Dimitri, going against all beliefs didn't use wood to build his house but rather formed it out of a dark material using his dark element.
"I think it looks perfect."
"And I think you would be the perfect fit for a demon king!" Devon shot back.
"I would make a great royal."
"You're an idiot."
Devon said as he started building his house. Charlotte, seeing Devon building his house, also started building her house. After a minute, two perfect wooden houses were built.
"Now your house looks out of place." Devon sighed as he saw how Dimitri's house stood out like a sore thumb.
"My house came first so you can go screw yourself."
"I'm tired of all this rubbish. I'm going to go take a nap." Devon said walking in his house closely followed by Julia.
"You go rest too, Charlotte. I'll get something for us to eat." Dimitri said, flying up.
'Now, where to get food.' Dimitri started flying around, looking for any animals that look edible.
After flying for about five minutes, he saw a pack of animals that looked like boars, however these boars looked a little strange. They were almost two meters long on all four and their eyes looked like a shade of red.
'Nice. Now, let's see how this death element works.' Dimitri thought as he flew high over the boars and spend the next five minutes trying to figure it out until he eventually poured mana while thinking of their death when...
