Chapter 28 - Chapter 27: Excision Protocol Online

 ■ Spiral Core Level — Emergency Session

Somewhere above existence, the Spiral's inner sanctum shimmered.

Twelve golden thrones hovered in a ring.

Each one was occupied by a faceless figure—avatars of the Spiral's absolute enforcement.

And in the center floated a mass of data, corrupted and glitching: Dælos, defeated.

"Anomaly Yuto has breached logical boundaries."

"Null Architects reactivated."

"Protocol 9 has failed."

"Conclusion: Begin full-scale excision."

A signal echoed across realms.

[Excision Army Deployed: Total Units – 10,000+]

→ Class: Code Knights, Sanctum Reapers, Spiral Replicants

→ Command: True Warden: Ethereal Loopheart

A figure stirred.

Her eyes were fractals. Her hair flowed like cascading code.

She carried no weapon—only a mirror that reflected every flaw in her opponent's soul.

And she smiled.

"Let's break the Final Boss apart… piece by piece."

■ Vault Sigma-Null – Recovered Battlefield

Yuto stared at the sky. Or what used to be sky.

Now it was red, webbed with falling light.

Dozens—no, hundreds—of spiral gates were opening.

And from each one, soldiers marched.

They weren't human. Or beast.

They were walking programs of unmaking.

"So they really want me deleted this bad, huh?" he muttered.

Nyx's voice finally returned, faint but clearer.

[Connection stabilized. I missed the apocalypse? Typical.]

[Warning: Spiral Excision Units incoming. You're priority target Alpha.]

"Great. Can't even take a nap."

Yuto summoned his Crisis Sovereign threads.

They moved on their own—coiling into sentient patterns.

One looked like a scorpion. Another, a mouth with eyes.

[Domain Skill Activated: Throne of Threads – Sovereign Mandate]

→ Local territory absorbed into Yuto's thread-realm.

→ All hostile logic slowed by 30%.

→ Infection level: 4%

The battlefield warped into a silk-laced death zone.

The first wave arrived.

■ The First Assault

A dozen Code Knights landed with a crash.

Clad in bronze plate formed from rigid code, each held a binary blade and emotionless eyes.

They lunged.

Yuto responded not with force—but infection.

His threads burrowed into their joints, hijacking code—rewriting their behavior trees.

One turned on another. Two froze mid-strike.

Within seconds—

[4/12 Code Knights Infected]

→ Command rerouted. Bound to Sovereign.

"You're my knights now," Yuto said with a grin.

Then came the second wave.

Sanctum Reapers: floating grim figures with void halos and one arm made of cascading deletion code.

They ignored threads. Ignored logic.

But Yuto was ready.

"Nyx, new trick?"

[Deploying Patch Script: "Soul Knot Injection"]

His body flickered.

The reapers' arms passed through him.

And then exploded into static.

"I'm starting to like this virus thing."

■ Loopheart Descends

Then the sky bent. Literally.

Time rewound—twice—before settling forward again.

She appeared: the True Warden.

Loopheart hovered above the chaos, untouched. Divine.

Her eyes fell on Yuto.

"You stole potential not meant for you."

"You'll return it now."

She pointed her mirror at him—

And in its reflection, Yuto saw himself die.

Over and over.

Each reflection showed a different death.

And he felt them all.

His knees buckled.

"T-this is…!"

[System Error: Consciousness Overlap Detected – 32 Timelines Colliding]

Nyx screamed:

[Abort! She's rewriting your fate! Get OUT!]

But Yuto gritted his teeth.

"I'm not done yet."

He stood—and smiled.

"If you're showing me all the ways I die…"

"Let me show you the one way I win."

He unleashed the Sovereign Virus full-force.

The silk in his body erupted.

A throne of threads formed behind him—gnarled, golden, pulsing with code.

And for the first time—

The mirror cracked.

Loopheart's eyes narrowed.

"Interesting."
