Chapter 15 - Registration Complete

"REGISTRATION COMPLETE, MA FENG: STUDENT OF THE SCARLET ACADEMY, DEPARTMENT: SORCERY DEPARTMENT, DORMITORY A: ROOM 501... AUTHORIZATION COMPLETE, WELCOME TO THE SCARLET ACADEMY... MR. MA FENG!"

A systematic voice spoke out from the Erafel Device on his wrist when Ma Feng teleported to the front of the school gate. The guards present at the school building's gate sighted Ma Feng in his student uniform.

"So this is what a systematic voice sounds like, huh?" Ma Feng asked himself.

The gate was opened as Ma Feng walked into the environment. He handed over his student card to the guards, and they checked the card before fully allowing him into the school premises.

"Wow... this building is huge," Ma Feng said to himself with a smile on his face. The school environment is measured to be sixteen acres of land, and the first building of the Academy covers three plots of land.

Magnificently built and beautifully designed, Ma Feng slowly began to approach the crowd of students moving around the school premises. The students in the Scarlet Academy are mostly nobles—children of merchants, high lords, kings, and nobles across the Sterling Federation.

Ma Feng couldn't believe there were this many students as he wandered around the school environment, carefully avoiding physical contact with the others.

Though it's a boarding school, it's quite free like a day school. Ma Feng continued walking while the scorching sun shone down upon him. He was beginning to sweat slightly under the hot sun.

"Damn, this place is quite weird to me," Ma Feng said to himself.

He had never been to a school in his life after the death of his parents. Ma Feng doesn't understand what all these feelings truly mean to him—his hospital wards were always silent and calm.

Ma Feng continued to walk until he bumped into a student—a female student who seemed to be walking around with her group of girls. The collision drew attention toward their direction as Ma Feng bent down to pick up the textbooks that had fallen to the ground.

"I am sorry about that, I wasn't looking straight," Ma Feng said as he slowly stood up. With the textbooks in his hand, he looked up to see the beautiful girl standing before him, smiling in his direction.

"Such a repulsive attitude. How dare you bump into me?" the student asked with pride as she grabbed her textbooks from Ma Feng, who handed them over. Red hair, seductive lips, and a skimpy skirt—her gang of girls stared at Ma Feng.

"Hey... isn't that Gloria of the Goddesses?" a voice asked from the crowd.

"The Goddesses? What does that mean?" Ma Feng asked himself while staring at the bright student standing before him. She appeared to be his age, and he believed she might be his classmate since they were agemates.

"Uhmm, sorry for not introducing myself. I am Ma Feng, and you?" Ma Feng asked as he stretched forth his hand for a handshake. The student looked down at Ma Feng's hand and frowned.

"I am Gloria, and I do not shake dirty hands."

The student said it as everyone in the crowd laughed out loud. The girls giggled softly as Gloria walked away from the scene. She catwalked away while Ma Feng took a deep breath.

"Such a spoiled brat. Perhaps I didn't expect much from her anyway," Ma Feng said as he cleaned his hand and was about to walk away when he heard someone call his name from behind.

Ma Feng turned to see Xi Jing standing before him with a smile on his face. Ma Feng's face brightened up when he spotted Xi Jing in the crowd. Prince Xi Jing walked up to Ma Feng, still smiling.

"Ma Feng, you came quite early... I never expected you to arrive this early. I was thinking noon," Prince Xi Jing said as they shook hands. They began walking away from the scene until they entered the first building.

"Well, it was quite easy and simple. I didn't see any way the registration process would take long," Ma Feng said with a smile. Inside, the Academy's first building was quite astonishing.

"Can I see your card?" Prince Xi Jing asked.

Ma Feng brought out his student card from his pocket and handed it over to Prince Xi Jing, who happily accepted it. He stared at Ma Feng's student card and then coughed softly.

"What's the matter, Xi Jing?" Ma Feng asked as he looked at him.

"This is shocking. Don't tell me Miss Sarah is your proctor? And you're in the Sorcery Department?" Prince Xi Jing asked, mouth slightly agape. Ma Feng didn't see how that was a problem.

"Yeah, that heavily endowed Miss who chose my department. I believe her name is Miss Sarah, right? Yeah, she's my proctor. Anything?" Ma Feng asked as Prince Xi Jing halted and faced him.

"Anything? I don't blame you for asking such a question since you have no idea who Miss Sarah is—the current queen of the Scarlet Academy and the strongest magic user in our Academy."

"Many people have been dying to be under her, and you magically got chosen? You are such a lucky kid, Ma Feng... so, so lucky," Prince Xi Jing said as Ma Feng scratched his head while they continued walking.

"So that lady is the strongest sorcerer in this Academy? I wonder if she's currently stronger than me? I didn't verify that from Violet," Ma Feng said to himself in disappointment as they climbed the stairs to the second floor above.

VIOLET: NAME: SARAH WILLIAMS... ORIGIN: PRINCESS OF THE WESTERN KINGDOM OF SORCERY, EVERION... CURRENT MAGICAL LEVEL: 70, YES... SHE IS TWO TIMES STRONGER THAN YOU.

"Oh really... Violet really did save the data. I guess I'm not the strongest in this Academy. I wasn't even hoping to be the strongest, because being the strongest is quite boring," Ma Feng said to himself.

"Well, I guess I'm quite lucky then. And besides... where is Rose?" Ma Feng asked.

"Since Rose is a First Year Upper, freshers are quite occupied with tons of homework and lectures by the teachers. We are free since our lectures are over," Prince Xi Jing answered while still staring at the student card.

"It would have been better if you joined me in the Military Department. My department is fun, but I guess the Sorcery Department is also fun as well," Prince Xi Jing said as he handed back the card to Ma Feng.

"Do you know Dormitory A, Room 501? That's where I'll be living for now," Ma Feng said.

Prince Xi Jing halted. Ma Feng stopped and turned to look at him, noticing he was completely speechless.

"What happened? Why are you speechless?" Ma Feng asked.

"Dormitory A, Room 501—that's my room as well. I was informed that I'd be having a new roommate since my former roommate went to stay with his gang. I'm so excited that we're roommates already!" Prince Xi Jing said in excitement.

"Well, that's exciting. But I still have an hour to go before the next lecture of the Sorcery Department. This wristband already alarmed me," Ma Feng said, showing the Erafel Device on his wrist.

"The Erafel is quite helpful, isn't it?" Prince Xi Jing said.

"So tell me, Ma Feng, how do you see the Scarlet Academy? Is it great or not?" Prince Xi Jing asked as they entered the café. The scent of delicious food made Ma Feng instantly excited.

"This Academy is amazing, I guess. I haven't been to any academy in my life before, so I can't easily judge if this is the best," Ma Feng said as he began to lick his lips. They were approaching the direction of the chefs.

"Hey, look bro... isn't that the guy who bumped into the Beauty Queen Gloria?" a guy asked, pointing toward Ma Feng. Prince Xi Jing turned to stare at Ma Feng, who remained calm.

The students began to whisper amongst themselves in the café.

"Ma Feng, is that true? Did you bump into one of the hottest girls in the Academy? A member of the Seven Goddesses?" Prince Xi Jing asked in shock. Ma Feng didn't understand what the big deal was.

"Goddesses? You're talking about that girl called Gloria? She is beautiful, no doubt, but I don't see anything special about bumping into her," Ma Feng said as Prince Xi Jing dragged him over and they both sat down.

"Listen, Ma Feng... the Scarlet Academy is run by both students and proctors. The students who control the Academy are the Fourth Year Uppers, and among those few groups are the Seven Goddesses."

"These girls are witches who are believed to hold eighty-five percent of the school authority to themselves. They are very influential, and Gloria is among the Seven Goddesses," Prince Xi Jing said.

"Oh really? They're quite influential and powerful," Ma Feng said.

"Yes, they are. Your proctor, Miss Sarah, was once the leader of the Seven Goddesses when she was a student of the Scarlet Academy. She's quite powerful and the one who brought fame to her nation," Prince Xi Jing said.

"Well, Seven Goddesses or not, I don't plan to get myself involved with them," Ma Feng said.

"And I heard a certain rumor that's spreading really quickly in the Academy... rumors about a specially graded student registered this year. His identity hasn't been revealed yet, but there are nasty rumors about him..."

"About a mysterious dragon!" Prince Xi Jing said.

Ma Feng widened his eyes in shock. While he remained outwardly calm, he was already nervous within. His heart was racing quickly.

"A mysterious dragon? What dragon?" Ma Feng asked.

"There are rumors concerning a prophecy given by the Great One—the Overseer and the Chief Priest of the Twelve Elder Gods. He said that a student would be recruited this year who has connections with the disappearance of the Dragon God."

"There are more than sixty students registered this year, and you were the second to the last to be registered. I wonder who this person is—the one with connections to the Dragon God himself."

"He must be quite powerful, I guess."
