"What are you doing? Get to work and don't just stand there, you lazy good-for-nothing!" A senior maid yelled, her sharp tongue cutting through the air. "You're not getting paid to stand around all day, gawking like a fool."
Casey snapped back to reality, her eyes tearing away from the hallway where Alpha Vlad had stormed past her just moments before. She had caught a glimpse of him, his aura imposing and intimidating, his eyes glittering bright red, and his hands smeared with blood. The image still lingered in her mind, sending a shiver down her spine.
The maid's words stung, but Casey bit her tongue and didn't respond. She knew better than to argue with a senior maid. Instead, Casey quickly scrambled to get back to work, her face flushing with embarrassment and annoyance.
"You're not supposed to be here," Vlad growled, his tone dripping with annoyance as he stormed into his room. He knew that scent all too well. "Come out here and talk."
