As the thundery night turned to a silent morning and the storm turned to a thick fog I woke up to a misty morning. I don't know why but I was in Alex's bed and I guessed that Alex had laid me there last night when I fell asleep.
I got off of bed and went to the balcony. Looking outside nobody could possibly imagine that this was the same place as last night. It was very early in the morning so the there was no one there except my Uncle who was drinking what I presumed was his special red tea and hanging around the trees. When he saw me he gave me a sign that meant that he was ganna come upstairs when he was done drinking tea.
By the time I was done washing up and changing my Uncle was already here eating the chocolate pancakes that Alex was making earlier. I joined him and by the time the clock struck seven all of the pancakes were gone. I told my Uncle that since there was nothing to do I wanted to go and visit the libraries. He suggested that I'd rather use that time to check out the Phantom valleys and all its wonders. It seemed like a good idea but there were so many valleys here that there was a high risk that I would end up getting lost by myself .Looking at my worried look my Uncle assured me that of Corse Alex was going to give me the tour. I had no reason to decline now so I agreed.
Before heading out Alex covered my head with a black robe and wore one himself. I thought it was weird but my Uncle thought that it was a good way of avoiding unwanted attention so I agreed to wear it. It was very quiet in the halls since the classes didn't start till tomorrow. While passing the dining hall I could smell all sorts of food. They were probably preparing the breakfast. Any way I was already full so I could care less. The outside corridors were as empty as the halls. As we crossed the libraries two students came out. One was a red head who she seemed very shy and the other was a blonde boy probably in middle school .He had a very sunny aura around him. He was carrying a lot of oranges which fell out of his hand. One orange rolled on to my feet which I then picked up. The boy came to get the orange. He was taller than I thought now that I had a closer look. He reached out to get to orange but then out of nowhere Alex brushed his hand away. With an angry grunt to his voice he told them to keep away. He snatched the orange from my hand and threw it at the boy and then he grabbed my hand and started walking. I didn't notice where we were going I just kept on complaining about why he treated that kid so badly, He was just a boy after all and all the other stuff about there was no reason to get so angry and suddenly he stopped. He let go of my hand and with a soft whisper breathed out the words the fountain of honesty. He wasn't listening to a single word I said and believe me I wanted to stay mad but when he moved and reviled the fountain all of my anger just dissipated.
The fountain was old anyone could tell. It was made of stone and had green moss all over it but the water was crystal clear. Alex told me the story behind the name. It got that name because even though the fountain was so dirty the water that came out of it was so clear so pure and so honest and there was also a legend that no matter what misunderstanding anyone has if they come here the misunderstandings solve itself . I wanted to stay there longer but Alex said that we had too much ground to cover so we moved along.
At the farthest corners of the school were some clear green slopes. There was nothing there but a large oak tree which stood tall in the middle of this clean green carpet of grass. It gave me almost the same feeling as the fountain and yet somehow different. Alex called it the Tree of Salvation. He said that this tree would grant anybody salvation as long as the person truly wanted forgiveness. We stood and admired the tree for a little bit and then went on with our tour.
We went to the school garden this time. As soon as we entered Alex warned me not to wonder off but it was already too late. There were so many different types of trees that as an aspiring biologist it was all too over whelming for me. Each time I turned my head there was something either rare or completely unknown to me. It made me remember why I waned to be a biologist in the first place.
Wondering off soon I found myself in the middle of a thick forest of apple trees. I looked all over but there seemed to be no out and that is when I noticed a great iron gate at the north-east side of the forest. It was the only thing visible for this thick bunch of apple trees. I followed it not only because it seemed like the only way out but also I had this feeling the place beyond those gates were calling me. It was a strange sensation.
Closer now I noticed that the gates were wrapped around by rose vines. There were many different colours of roses on those vines in full bloom. There colours were not that of normal roses and yet they looked so natural.
I wasn't looking where I was going my mind was only occupied with the thought of what was behind these gates that calling me out so sadly. I kept walking forward not looking down and that's when I suddenly realized that there was no earth beneath my feet. When I looked down there was a big crack in the earth severing the path between garden and the mysterious iron gates. I got a close look at an endless pit. It was scary and dark.. Though it was only a few seconds it made me cold right down to the bones. Someone pulled me up by the waist before I could fall. It was Alex.
Luckily he got there in time but he seemed more surprise about my being able to see the iron gates rather than my falling then a soft smile cracked in his face. He told me that I was one of the very few people who "The Meeting place" reviled itself to. Looking at my not so satisfied face he explained 'This is the place where the Phantom and the Oracle first met. They use to meet here in secret…' He laughed and as usual he was elsewhere but then his eyes went dim and his voice drifted into sadness 'and it was also the place where they last met. The Phantom was so blinded by rage that after he heard the news of his beloved's demise he sealed this place away with a course but because of the mystical garden's own power they course was only half done and from time to time the garden would reveal itself to people it took a liking to. So the Phantom severed the path to enter by cracking the earth with his wings and so the Meeting place was forever sealed away'.
Unknowingly I told Alex my desire to visit this strange place that was calling to me. Alex Went silent but then he said to follow him.
He took me into a forest. It had a strange green glow about it. It almost felt magical. It was known as the Enchanted Forest. At the middle of the forest was a huge lake. It mirrored the sky perfectly. The water rushing down was fierce and yet somehow soft at the same time. This was the lake of the water fairies aka mermaids.
A few steps ahead was a waterfall. The water from the fountain was said to have the ability to heal any sorts of cuts and bruises so it was called the waterfall of elixir.
Going up hills there was a cave that we crossed. It had a very cold feeling to it. Alex said that it was the portal that all the worlds together. So deep in the forest and yet any sort of life refused to grow around it.
While looking for the crystal mines we saw a shrine. Alex thought it was strange that the nine tailed fox deity let down her barriers in front of us. He offered some fruits he was collecting on the way and continued on our search for the crystal mines.
The mines were hard enough to find as they way to them was though a tree which was covered by thick vines. In the underground there were many springs which Alex called the rejuvenating springs.
After long walk through those dark narrow paths we came out at a meadow in the other end. There were two gate paths next to each other. One was a white gate with a very spring feeling to it with flowers all over and the other a black gate covered with black roses.
One was the way to the fairy kingdom and the other the gate way to the forest of darkness. I thought Alex would enter the white gate but instead he opened the black gates. The gateway was simply a gate separating the two forests. Even though it was only a matter of few steps the whole forest felt different. It had a scary dark feeling to it. Even the trees were strange and not a speck of sunlight could enter. There was dead silence except for the sound of our footsteps. Many bats flew over our heads but they weren't bothering us.
Unlike before Alex wasn't relaxed. His guard was up and his instinct heightened. He wasn't stopping every few steps and giving me a description of it in fact it was more like he was sneaking around trying to get somewhere.
There were many times we had to cross a cliff on slippery wood logs. Something large black wings flew overhead but it wasn't a bat it was too big for that but it was they only life we'd seen so far. Now Alex started to haste he murmured something about entering the dark angel's realm. He was in a rush to get out of this parts of the woods but also careful not to make any noise while doing so.
After running and hiding we finally reached an old mansion. I couldn't believe what a mansion was doing here in the middle of nowhere. Alex informed me that this was the night class students' dorms. We didn't enter the building but waited for someone outside.
A fair guy with long blonde hair came out. He had beautiful emerald eyes. He looked like an angel with a warm aura around him. That was only because of his looks though because as soon as he came it was obvious that he was just as cold as Alex. They chatted in the corner for a while and then asked me to follow them. We went into the dorm's basement where we followed this almost dry and dead road. Outside what I saw was..............................…..
