I had now learnt everything there was about foraging, farming, hunting, building and repairing after being reincarnated in this world. I now resolved to try learning about how to fight. I also wanted to explore and test the limits of this new body that I had reincarnated in. But before beginning to train myself in combat, I wanted to learn how to craft weapons and armour.
With this thought in mind, I decided to build a blacksmith. I decided to build it near the stone quarry in order to find suitable materials that would help me in building top quality blacksmith tools like an anvil or mould. I found a place near the quarry with a flat area which I thought would serve my purpose well. The area was not covered with foliage of the trees from above so I didn't need to worry in case a fire spread in the forest. I selected the buildings option and chose the blacksmith blueprint. In one hour's time, I had a beautiful and simple smithy to myself.
I entered my newly built smithy and found that the hearth was being powered by another glowing magic stone. I was glad because this saved me from the trouble of having to collect wood to build a fire to forge whatever I wanted and whenever I wanted. It would also save wood and thus, trees. I wanted to preserve the environment I now lived in as much as I could.
I was very comfortable with a sword so I decided to try my hand at forging one. Now that I had a blacksmith, it looked like all the knowledge about how to forge things seemed to be pouring into my mind. It felt strange. Where on earth did this come from? Was this how thoughts entered the minds of human beings? And if a human being passed from this world, what happens to the thoughts? Where do they go? It was very puzzling and mystical. I finished forging a sword as these thoughts passed through my mind. I decided to make another twin sword like the first which would serve to balance myself in attacks. I must mention that for metal, I ventured into the mine nearby and was lucky to find metal ores. I knew not what metal this was or how strong it would be or how long it would last. I only felt that this was enough for the time being. I didn't want to overthink about too many things.
To test the sword strength, I summoned a golem to practice with. The golem wielded a stone hammer as a weapon. I had no armour on. The golem swung the hammer around dangerously. I was able to block its attack with the flat of my blade. After training for about half an hour, and seeing no crack on the blade, I was satisfied with my handiwork. I left the golem to guard the smithy and mine and made my way home. I resolved to practice at least half an hour every day. I also wanted to master different weapons as I progressed.
I also wanted to try crafting an armour. It was only right that I wore some kind of protection as I also wanted to go exploring in safety. Such thoughts filled my head as I drifted off gently to sleep at night.
