"Good idea." Between the three kids, Lu Zi Zhen was richer and accomplished business-wise because he dealt with oil and firearms that their father didn't know anything about. His underground businesses in their home country and here were flourishing, but in their home country, he held an immense amount of power that no one could rival him. He ruled the underground businesses, and he was the main character. He hadn't set foot back there, but he was already feared.
"What do you think would happen if Momma comes to know what you have been up to? Luckily, you don't smuggle anything, or else she could lock you up for years." Lu Ting Cheng giggled, watching him assemble his machine gun like it was a toy.
"She does know, it's just that she acts ignorant and doesn't want to comment on anything about it." He can't believe that their mother knew nothing whatsoever of what they had been up to. She must be knowing but acting blind and deaf towards it.
Apart from handling underground businesses, they dealt with the company as Lu Ting Cheng was good in that they gained their foothold, and they were doing better.
"And Daddy? Do you think he knows? I actually shouldn't be assisting you in doing these things. You are always dragging me into your mess! It's your fault if I do get reprimanded." Yes, he had a share in all that; he wasn't as cruel as Lu Zi Zhen, but he had his own share of brutality and handled other businesses better. He was still involved in these other businesses.
"As long as we work in the company diligently, Daddy won't know anything that he shouldn't be knowing. And then, it's not like you are there and you get nothing! You earn quite a good amount of dividends every single month, and at the end of the year. You actually should be grateful to me because you earn so much, and your input is too little to be noticeable." He loudly snickered as he loaded his machine gun while the jeep zoomed across the highway, heading in the direction they had marked on the map.
"Tsk." He went silent, knowing it was purely the truth. He couldn't deny that he didn't have shares, and he didn't receive a good amount of money. He would only look like a hypocrite drinking wine while he says it's water.
"Have you checked on your family after so many years? Do you know the Li Corporation is struggling to survive? It's going down and doesn't have many projects going on." Lu Ting Cheng didn't know much about what had happened back then, but he recalls meeting each other at the airport. They didn't look like people who were going away for a vacation, but rather, they were running away.
"Why should I even look into it? We all chose our own paths! I accepted my path, aren't you my brother? Isn't your father my father? Don't I have shares just like you do? Why should I look behind? They would definitely go bankrupt because it was my mother's hard work that had brought it up to that position; without her, they couldn't have achieved anything. They are just a bunch of nuisance without her." He actually didn't know much about his 'mother'/Auntie... But when they moved abroad, he came to realise the amount of knowledge and capabilities she held within her and what she was capable of; she was the mind behind the Li Corporation. She was a talented woman, even though she preferred working in the shadows, just behind the curtains. No wonder Li Feng had taken advantage of her for so many years without giving her an appropriate title.
