Chapter 38 - Final Decision!

Three hours later, the old fogies and their wives couldn't wait to leave for Geldhan village.

After tasting and feeling the benefits of the foods Gort brought, they suddenly realized just how much the future was going to change.

They've always known Gort was a super genius but what did it mean to create artificially grown foods that took less time to mature and had more benefits?

What about his VR invention?—This alone showed that their little disciple was full of confidence about every move he made.

Just like how he constantly beats them in chess, he was 100% sure of the flood's arrival. But why didn't he report the matter?

Gort shook his head wryly. "I did, masters. But just like you, no one believed me."

In fact, he heard from a reliable source that they threw his hypothesis trash, saying he was more like a storyteller than a scientist.

Well, the group suddenly became ashamed because they too didn't even hold an ounce of belief. But only after seeing the situation, did their hearts skip. What if… what if what he was saying was true?

Then wouldn't they be the biggest sinners in humanity for not at least believing and trying?

It's true that it was hard to believe, but when you really sit down to think about it, there seems to be a spark of flooding one's heart.

What's more, even if it proves to be wrong, the many creations Gort had in mind to make, would still protect humanity forward.

Just listening to his ideas alone made them all want to jump on the wagon into his crazy beliefs. This situation wasn't all bad. They'll also be getting shares in his company.

What's more, it's been a long—very long time since they felt pumped up for the future. They suddenly felt that no project they've gone in the past might be able to best the many projects Gort already had in mind.

"Little Gort, we'll move in within the next 3 days." Larkh spoke.

Since humanity had only a few months left, they can't very well waste any more time. They must pack up and move. But that isn't all they had to do.

They also wanted to use their own funds to build mansions of their own in the village. They had a hunch that soon, Geldhan village will be Humanity's main Capital station if the flood really occurs.

So why not make haste while the sun shines?

Smart people knew how to take advantage of every golden opportunity. They had to not just build mansions for themselves but also start building some for their children too.

Hey, Old Larkh thought of his precious daughter, and smiled warmly. As for his sons… Bah! Which man has to wait for their father to get homes for themselves? It was only logical that every good thing should be left for his little Thulu.

Speaking of the angel…

"Brother Gort!"

A voice caused Gort's eyes to instantly soften. Even with his eyes closed, he could picture Thulu's smile.

She surprisingly had shorter hair compared to many of her peers. Thulu was someone who thought and did things that suited her best.

She said her hair was in the way, so she cut it shoulder length. Yet this didn't diminish any of her beauty.

She and Gort were the same age. In fact, she transferred to Gort's school just because of him. So of course she was pouring angrily when going to school and hearing he dropped out without telling her.

"Little girl, your Brother Gort is busy."

"What busy?" Thulu stretched her pink tongue at her father, grabbing Gort's arm. "Brother Gort, I thought we were close. So how come you suddenly left without even telling me goodbye?"

Then she muttered, thinking no one heard her: "Hey, it would have been better if you told me earlier, so I can also drop out too."

Larkh was speechless, recalling how many times his good daughter tried dropping out. Fortunately, despite how weak he was to his daughter's pleas, he still had his sanity, refusing her flat out.

[No, you cannot drop out.]

Those were his famous words that often caused him to flee from his home right there and then, avoiding his daughter's many advances.

Thanks to his darling wife Tunada for putting her foot down, or else his daughter would have definitely had her way earlier.

But… now that the end of the world is coming, why not have her stay in the place they know should be the safest for her now? Even if she missed one semester or term, so what? It's not that bad.

Tunada understood her husband's thoughts, chuckling in agreement… Of course, what she saw was more than what he saw. Their little Gort has always liked their little Thulu… so why not—

"Alright, alright, Thulu, your Brother Gort is a very busy person. But we do indeed have good news for you."

"A surprise?" Thulu was confused, but a little excited.

~Wooo! She loved surprises.

Tunada flicked the little girl's forehead teasingly. "In 3 days, we will be moving to your Brother Gort's village. There, you will be able to see him more often than before. But you cannot disturb him, understand?"

"0"

Move… MOVE OUT?

Thulu's eyes widened animatedly.

Then-then-then… does this mean that she doesn't have to go to school anymore?

Hooray! Hooray!

School was boring with brother Gort gone. So finally, she was FREE!
