Damon's POV
It didn't matter that Kyle was in love with Ivy; even the fact that they were both working for Dror seemed highly insignificant in that moment.
All I could see was the way Ivy stared at him. It was the same way she looked at me, eyes filled with love and affection. Kyle held her close as he held her gaze.
"Kyle?" she called. Even her voice was soft as she stared at him.
She's scared of losing him if she likes him that way. Tara's voice rang in my head.
It was true, Ivy was also in love with Kyle; that hurt more than her being Dror's spy. My heart broke as I stared at them, they were in their world, gazing at each other. How could she do that in front of me?
"Tell me how to defeat Dror," she said.
They were all lies. All along, the person she loved was Kyle, not me.
Was the child even mine? Was I some kind of stand-in for Kyle?
Did she use me as some kind of substitute to hide her feelings for Kyle?
