Chapter 98 - Chapter 96: Fulfilled Duty

Mirai Pov

Once again, I found myself in the middle of a sea of void...my eyes open to the clear display, I just wanted for Manas : Fate to emerge somewhere around.

But no matter how long I waited, she didn't appear...my solitude was interrupted only by the loud, almost robotic voice that announced something.

My body felt stronger, warmer...more complete ? As if a missing piece was filled deep inside my soul.

Mirai : I was really fooled, I lost on every stage of this game...

I am aware of what transpired right before I lost consciousness, father...he forced me into an evolutionary sleep.

The only possible way for him to seal me away from action...i can't stop the situation from unveiling and the one that could be Manas : Fate hid somewhere out of my reach.

VOTW : (Forced evolution's condition are met, acquisition of awakened Hero egg- successful, all requirements are met-)

The voice went on, if a hero egg is akin to a small sun within one's soul...i could feel a second one opening up to me beside the first star.

This hero egg belonged to Dawn Arceid, to my father...I might value it even higher than my own egg...furthermore, this granted egg was already fully bloomed.

With just that alone, I felt like I had reached another peak...a level of existence I could only witness among the True dragon or my father himself.

VOTW : (Intervention from Manas : Fate, request to alter all evolution regulation to strengthen the Manas : Fate- permission granted.)

This might be the shortest evolution announcement ever, I didn't even have the strength to deny this outcome.

Manas : Fate simply reaped all the profit, evolution means new power...new skills, new ability, enhancement of one's body and soul, immunity to concepts or elements...

Yet none of that happened, and I could understand Manas : Fate's logic behind this...after all, I had already acquired most of the prominent advantages that evolution could grant.

My power also mainly comes from fate...so i didn't lose anything from letting her do it, still i felt lethargic at this new retrieved power.

Mirai : All of this is originally mine, yet I feel disgusted by it.

Flowing through my veins like an invisible yet tangible force, fate...I had recovered full authority over that element.

One that equaled if not surpassed that of time and space, the reason for my let down is precisely because I regained everything.

It means father lost that power...it was the only way to trigger the evolutionary sleep, a hero egg wouldn't be enough.

VOTW : (Full Authority over the Element of Fate is returned to individual : Mirai Averion, this will conclude this evolution.)

And here, it already ended...the voice shutting down, I couldn't know for how long I had been out here.

No, the evolution has already ended...right along with the Voice of the World, I should be able to go back now but no matter how I twist my senses, my body won't budge.

That can only mean, an external force is keeping me at bay...Manas : Fate, she must be controlling my body as she sees fit...

Mirai : Really, what a troublesome skill...

3rd Pov

Bounding back into the realm of fate, Dawn stepped on the cold transparent floor where his daughter laid peacefully.

The previously chained up chaos went for a perfectly still scenery...there was neither a beat of sound or life aside from the two of them.

Dawn : Just like a flower...this reminds me, your favorite flower was the cold rosa harvested in the north, right...Catherine.

A small tickled his lips as he approached Mirai, but before he could reach a step away from her...the girl's eyes flung open.

But instead of a diamond blue shade that seemed to reflect the sky itself, no instead an ethereal purple with crimson iris glowed to stare right back at Dawn.

Dawn : Oh ? So we meet again, Manas : Fate.

Manas Fate : Naturally, I couldn't allow myself to see you leave without one last face to face discussion.

Standing up, Manas : Fate like any other manas could manifest through their host's body...but in their gaze was a calculative glow, an inhuman shine that sent chills to anyone staring into them for too long.

It was an intimidating and predatory gaze, yet Dawn wasn't fazed even a bit by this...he simply smiled overlooking everything beside the individual standing before him.

Dawn : Is there more to discuss ? We finally achieved what we were meant for...

Manas Fate : That's right, your resilience has made this miracle possible.

Dawn : Mmh, I wouldn't say it's all about me...if I didn't have Catherine or should I call her Luna ? I would have fallen victim to the Lord of Stories's effect...

It was a statement he had made before, in the end he was human...one that was given opportunity and help beyond measure.

Dawn : Without Mirai and you, i wouldn't have even managed to live a second life...without the Author himself, i would not have acquired the necessary knowledge to reach this point, without Veldanava I wouldn't be able to use [God's Authority] and without them all...i wouldn't be here.

None of this would have been possible without all the reunited factors, if even one of them missed the call...then the whole plan would have broken like a sand castle.

Holding his hand up to his heart, Dawn smiled sincerely...but what he just claimed didn't make sense to Manas : Fate.

Manas Fate : You are undermining your own merit, this plan that transcended time...Over countless worlds and timelines, you thoughtfully planned everything, planting the seed of victory at each new attempt.

Dawn : You give me too much credit.

Manas Fate : Each time you lost memories of the previous attempt but through fate you materialized and shaped your plan...your future manipulated your present, your present redirected your past and your past built up your future.

Anf for the first time, the stiff expression belonging to a Manas melted into a radiant smile full of life.

Manas Fate : You rearranged your memories, everyone was fooled by your ingenuity...yet the one who suffered the most, who became your greatest pawn was yourself.

A foolish move that entirely described what kind of person Dawn Arceid was...not wanting anyone to suffer for his own greed, them being friends or enemies.

He decided to be the one who shares the greatest burden...this wasn't a thought application bend from Origin Averion or Elite3532.

It was entirely Dawn Arceid...an entity of his own that just happened to be fated to relieve the journey of others.

Manas Fate : But before you go, I have one last request...

Dawn : A request ?

Manas Fate : Yes, however I am initiating it not as a contractor or skill...but as a distinct individual.

She blatantly claimed to be her own person, it was a major step for a manas...because they often categorize themself as a part of their master.

Ciel for Rimuru, Chronoa for Chloe...and Fate with Mirai, they are essentially a whole existence together, but existentially they are separate entities.

Dawn : What do you need ?

Manas Fate : A hug.

Dawn : Eh ?

It was an unexpected request that froze Dawn's body, it took a long second before he regained his spirit.

Dawn : A hug, huh...is that really all you want ?

Manas Fate : Yes...

Complying, he had no reason to refuse...with a swift step, he closed the gap between them before spreading his arms.

Enveloping them over her shoulder, a hug is often called the warmest contact one could give to a friend.

Dawn : This is a rather unusual request, are you su-

Manas Fate : You are really a cruel man...

Her head pressed against his chest, the size difference between Mirai and Dawn was one of the rare physical traits she inherited from her mother.

Manas Fate : You know, my entire ego is built up based on a certain girl...

Dawn : ...

Her breathing dropping cold, she scratched his back nervously as if shaking...hiding her expression, she mumbled her words with rare emotion.

Manas Fate : Unmei Averion, she is your second daughter...one whose existence has been erased completely.

A name that was both unfamiliar yet so nostalgic...a presence that certainly existed as some still remembered her, but none of this current world had ever acknowledged her.

Manas Fate : You, i and Mirai...we are the only ones who truly remember her, but that doesn't mean she is gone...at the end, her memories laid in me.

Dawn : I see...

Manas Fate : She is not dead yet...so please-

Finally looking at her, Dawn's expression flattered upon meeting the proud Manas's teary eyes.

Her face remained smiling but her emotions were a mess, tears flowed uncontrollably as she sobbed...yet that smile never left.

It was...despair and sorrow.

Manas Fate : At least recognize me as such...

Her voice gradually broke into shambles, her hands shifted from his back to his front...tightly holding his shirt as more tears flowed.

She hoped and tried...it was a last chance opportunity for her to be acknowledged and to at least a ton of her own guilt.

Dawn : No, I can't do that.

A response that dropped cold into Manas : Fate's core...her eyes widened for an instant before a surge of resolution arose from her calculative mind.

Manas Fate : I-I see-

Dawn : Unmei is still alive...

But to her expectation, a sweet and chill voice broke her focus...Manas : Fate looked back at Dawn with wide eyes.

Dawn : As long as people remember her, even if they are a minority...even if it's an all knowing god, a person will survive even the collapse of reality itself.

Hugging this child closer, he gently patted her head...the white hair that was inherited from him was smooth and delicate.

Just like a cold flower...

Dawn : It would be too cruel to call you Unmei, after all you aren't her...

Manas Fate : I-I...

Dawn : You are your own person so don't let anyone...not even yourself deny your existence.

Manas : Fate dropped her hand letting herself be carried by warmful stroke on her hair...she felt at peace for the first time ever since she was given this lifelong mission.

Dawn : Our bond grew over the ages, every corner of this endless loop ended with us meeting...that is why I grew fond of you. I cherished those brief moments and I hope that you'll meet a happy end as well.

Manas Fate : A happy end...

Dawn : Yes, a wonderful destiny awaits you all...my sweet third daughter.

Manas Fate : !!!

Emotion developing through her core, she met with Dawn's smile...her own lips quivering weakly.

Dawn : A proper name should be qualified to announce your own existence, how about Yue...Yue Averion.

Manas Fate : Y-Yue ?

The name felt like a sweet candy in her mouth, she repeated the name over and over in her mind..engraving it like a fundamental stone in her core.

Her existence was recognized and a name was graced upon her...a bright smile replaced her frowning face.

She couldn't hide her joy but also her tears, diving her ear near Dawn's heart once again...she listened quietly to the calm beat of her now father.

But the joy quickly faded as Lune bit down her lips...

Yue : Thank you, really...now, I can pay the price for my sins.

It was one of her reasons for wanting this name...to aton of the sins, the consequence for being powerless.

Yue : I'm so sorry, father...because of me, because I lacked the necessary ability, your fate has reached its ending point.

She remained calm, her voice too didn't waver but the insurmountable guilt she felt was omnipresent.

Yue : In a way, I killed you...I sentenced you to this fate.

Thus she sentenced herself to an endless guilt, the emotion swirling in her imaginary heart...she truly loved Dawn and saw him as family.

And that is precisely why she wanted him to recognize her...so that she could aton for killing him.

She wanted to suffer long enough so she could one day be freed of her own guilt.

Dawn : It was my own choice, you didn't force it on anyone...besides, I should be thankful instead, after all you give me the opportunity to leave with a smile.

Yue : S-still-

She wanted to add another word but a pulse ran through her soul, it was a sign that Mirai woke up.

Yue : It seems I don't have much time left...

Murmuring to herself, she tightened the hug for another moment before releasing the pressure...taking a step back, she didn't meet Dawn's gaze.

She fidgeted with her finger trying to find the right words.

Yue : Could you...call my name once more ?

Dawn : Sure, you have a really cute side as well, Yue.

Yue : (Ahh, this is truly a bliss...I was curious ever since I myself explored the memories related to this world...Manas : Ciel, I couldn't understand why she felt that after receiving her name.)

A Manas is closer to a cold program than a living being, but contrary to a computer Ai...a Manas can develop emotion.

In fact, they become Manas after awakening an ego who is the foundation for emotion.

Yue : It's really beautiful...thank you again.

Yue who has been working endlessly for this moment, her cold heart melting as time passed.

Normally, she would have waited without doing anything herself but when Dawn came back victorious...Yue felt a sense of greed.

She understood it well, that if she didn't fill her regrets now...then she will never have another chance.

Yue : I'll live as you wanted me to, I guess this is a goodbye then.

Dawn : Indeed, it's simply a goodbye.

Yue's smile rivalized Mirai and Unmei's at this very moment...this strangely comforted Dawn who observed the girl closing her eyes.

The crimson pupils shifting back into a sky blue shade...

Dawn : Welcome back, Mirai.

Mirai : F-father ?

Her eyes closed repetitively as she tried to adjust her vision, she was like a little girl who had just woken up on a school monday's morning.

Mirai : Huh ? Why are my eyes wet ? Did I cry ?

Dawn : You could say that, take your time...

Mirai : Ugh- wait no, it was Manas : Fate, right !

Her mind stabilizing, she bursted forward with a silent rage...Dawn however didn't refute her, but neither will i reveal my discussion with Lune.

Mirai : What happened to the Author ? And Ivarage-

Dawn : Calm down, your dad already took care of everything that matters at the moment.

His solemn expression brought ease upon Mirai, she had never seen Dawn showing such emotion.

Then a realization struck her, the very reason she tried to turn the tide by herself...

Mirai : W-wait...then what will happen to y-you ?

Dawn : My fate has already been set in stone, there is no going back now.

Mirai : B-but...

Dawn scoffed, he found the raising panic in his overly expressive daughter cute.

Dawn : It's fine-

Mirai : What ? But we have to save you !

Dawn : Mirai.

An authoritative tone startled the girl, she looked up with her red cornered eyes, the tears had stopped but she could still feel her skin drying from the excessive crying.

Taking a step back, she looked at her father with several emotions...each contradicting the other.

Dawn : Shall we go for a walk ?

Stretching his hand, as if responding to his call...the world around illuminated before space itself bent, no longer were they standing amidst a sea of emptiness.

But rather, they stood in the middle of a gorgeously paved road surrounded by a flooding ocean of flowers, all kinds of flowers.

And this garden was way too familiar for Mirai, as a divine human herself...her memories were near perfect, remembering each detail from her past.

Them being painful or happy...this place held both sentiments, a place she loved yet had seen burn too many times.

Mirai : This...

Dawn : Let's go.

This was the grand duchy of Averion's flower field, a place where Mirai had her first picnic...such memories lingered in her mind.

As she instinctively took a step forward, walking side by side with her father as they slowly walked down the aisle of heaven on earth.

Dawn : This place sure brings back nostalgia.

Mirai : Yes...

Looking to her left, a bg tree could be observed...her eyes squinted when an illusion portrayed her imagination.

This was still the world of fate, meaning whatever transcripted now was all Mirai's subconscious doing.

Mirai : It was the good old time.

Below the tree, a happy family of four playing, the oldest daughter was teaching her sibling how to make a flower crown while the parents watched amused.

But like any other memories, they faded along the wind...keeping their steady pace, Mirai didn't stop once following her father.

Dawn : The past holds all of one's regret, that's a sad legacy you leave for your future self.

Mirai : ...

This time shifting her gaze to the right, she saw her younger self swinging a wooden sword fit for her shorter size.

The wind getting a bit stronger, the little girl startled, tripped on her own feet and fell backward...the wooden sword thrown flying, it landed near her head as she hurt herself lightly.

Mirai : But without regret, you can never become the best of yourself.

Dawn : Mmh, that's accurate.

A figure quickly approached the laying girl, helping and comforting her...she hugged the man just like how a child should when they get hurt.

The sight made Mirai smile involuntarily as more and more memories appeared...

Dawn : Tell me, Mirai...do you think I succeeded as ruler for this land ?

Mirai : Huh ?

The question came in unexpected, as space bent itself again...ahead of them, a clear separation between the flower field and a new region appeared.

As they walked into the new space, it was like a long corridor leading from the first world to the second.

The new scenery was that of buzzling city...the grand duchy as Mirai remembered, people were flooding like fish in the ocean.

Business talk, knights, soldiers or even the past form of an adventurer...all kinds of people were moving on their own day.

Dawn : A ruler's job is to protect his people, to make their life better...to lead them, yet everything crumbled under my reign.

Mirai : No ! Father was the ideal ruler...you prioritize your people over your own life, only a fool could say the contrary.

Her answer was adamant and treasured Dawn, leading him to give Mirai a pat on her head...he couldn't help but feel bad for all those fathers who never received an ounce of sympathy from their growing daughter.

Dawn : I see, that's good then.

Mirai : Yes !

Nodding furiously, she dug her head deeper under Dawn's palm even as he retreated his hand.

Their moment was interrupted when the buzzling street shut quiet, many eyes were thrown toward them forcing the two to look back.

Mirai : What is happening ?

Dawn : It's as you say, merit is recognized by others...the people's feelings are the leading key to a monarch.

Smiling, the crowd soon gathered into two split groups, bowing their heads and knees...a road formed between them continuing the path they had been walking on.

« We greet his highness the duke ! We greet her highness as the first princess ! »

Loud cheers ran from both parts, this was a canvas of a successful ruler...Mirai witnessed this and realized what Dawn tried to tell her.

Mirai : A ruler without his people is only an individual...

Dawn : That's right, and a land without a ruler is merely a scattered group of people.

Stepping up, he walked through the large crowd who expanded through the entire city leading toward the castle.

Mirai followed closely behind while observing her surroundings, everyone was smiling and cheering for them.

It would be a perfect legacy representing the trust of the people toward their ruler...

« Long live the grand duke ! »

« All hail his majesty ! »

« Princess ! Look at this way please ! »

It was like a sweet caress for the ears, no negativity...no malice, all but true devotion and loyalty.

A healthy relation between people and ruler, but amidst all this light was hidden a truth that Mirai failed to notice.

The march kept going for another while before she finally started feeling a sting in her heart, something felt off and that was because she didn't feel like standing in front of an illusion.

Mirai : Wait...those people are real ?

Dawn : You finally noticed ? I guess we can't hide it any longer.

Halting his walk for the first time, he turned toward his daughter with a solemn look.

Mirai : W-what ?

Dawn : I might have been called by countless titles, each more glorious than the other one...but individually without any interference, I am just a human.

Mirai : Where are you saying ?

Dawn : My soul isn't strong enough to hold a single ultimate skill, scratching that reincarnation like I did would be impossible.

This revelation left Mirai to freeze, her neck crackled as she stared at her father dumbfounded.

Dawn : All the people here, the hundreds of thousand subjects that lived on the land of Averion...they answered thc all to your pleas, they abandoned their future at the cycle of reincarnation...giving away their own soul to strengthen mine.

The metaphor of a house would be the perfect image to explain it, if Origin Averion's soul was only valued as a single brick...and that an Ultimate skill was an individual as a whole.

Then this sole brick could never keep the person safe and warm, but once you had the several hundreds of thousand people belonging to the duchy...then a large house can be created.

A house strong enough to host as many skills as needed...but this was only possible because the people accepted their sacrifice and gave up on existing ever after.

Mirai : This can't be...all those people.

Her head spinning to look at each and every face present, she felt nauseous...their expression, joy and content were real.

They were aware of their own circumstance yet they agreed all for her sake.

Dawn : Don't cry, it would only insult their courage and determination.

Mirai : Still...those people were mine to protect...

Dawn : Mmh, you are about half right and wrong.

With that said, he started walking again...soon followed by Mirai, she held her hand close to her heart feeling a nostalgic warmness coursing through her soul.

The street shifted dramatically as space bent again, they now stood on a large plaza...the area right before the castle that was once her home.

In front was a similar sight from before, countless individuals could be seen waiting on two lines...parting to make way for them.

But contrary to the chaotic cheer from before, there was a steady calm...the people in this place were disciplined and noble.

They were knights and soldiers, a few mages and important figures to the safety of the duchy.

Mirai : Sir Therion, Lady Veronique...

Names naturally flooded out of Mirai's mouth, they were unknown to all...names forgotten through history.

But the people here were being that graced her childhood...Averion couldn't be protected by a simple individual, there was naturally a system, an army...and people helping its ruler.

Among them Therion and Veronique, two nobles who served Origine Averion for quite some time...they were the leading figure of the army, the generals.

Dawn : It sure brings back memories...

The two of them stood out, standing in the middle of the path while all the others bowed and saluted...the angle they had to kneel depended on their rank.

Therion : Well fought my liege, i couldn't expect any less from our great lord.

Veronique : Congratulations on this final victory, my lord.

They didn't bow, instead their fist reached for their heart as they stepped aside...Origin saw them as friends, his status was higher but he never asked them to be inferior in his presence.

Dawn : Yeah, it was a tiring war...

As much as he wanted to hold back and stay to talk, he kept walking...the trail of his coat passing through the rank.

Therion smiled proudly when Mirai at her turn passed by.

Therion : You too, lady Mirai...you worked hard.

Mirai : !!!

This simple sentence broke Mirai from the inside, she held back her emotion up until now but a first tear rolled down her cheek.

Realizing this, she quickly swiped her hand over her face and let her hair fall, casting a veil of darkness before her eyes.

Veronique : Idiot, don't hold back the princess.

Therion : Is it my fault ? The little princess I knew had grown into a fantastic lady.

Veronique : Can't blame you on that, I still remember how she asked me to teach her some technique to impress his highness.

Their voices and discussion fading as they dug deeper toward the castle, Mirai bit her lips...this was harder and more painful than she had thought.

Dawn : I have another question.

Mirai ; Yes ?

Dawn : Do you think I succeeded in my rôle as a father ?

Was it a question to calm Mirai's nerves ? Or was he genuinely curious ? Well whatever the reason is, Mirai had only one answer.

Mirai : If I had to be reborn a thousand times, I wished to have you as my parent in every life.

Dawn : I see, I like that title more than any other.

The gate of the castle opened loudly, this time space didn't move...they simply stepped inside the luxurious building.

Dozens of maids waited in line, courteously bowing at the entrance of the duke and his heir.

The head maid and butler caught Mirai's attention...a couple of people who had served the duchy ever since the previous duke.

Dawn : Is everything ready ?

Different from the other, the head maid and butler didn't just stop and watch their masters walk by.

Instead, they followed closely, leaving Mirai nervous as she was stuck between them.

Athea : Yes, your majesty, all the preparations are done.

Richford : The ceremony is only awaiting your command to begin.

Their immediate answer left Dawn with a satisfying nod, he kept his pace steady reaching up to the gate leading toward the main hall.

Two guards stationed at each side of the door, they quickly raised their heads and grabbed the gold plastered handle, pulling the gate open at a near perfect timing.

Guards : His majesty, the grand duke Origin Averion, his ladyship the princess Mirai Averion are entering !

The announcement reverberated around the entire castle, Mirai who was clueless about the situation felt a surge of energy bursting from the inside.

Her clothes melted, replaced by a new noble attire, colored with the principal white...it was a teint that represented Averion, the snow white and icy blue.

Characteristics that feature from their genetics...

Mirai : Those clothes...

Origin : You must have distant memories of them since Catherine brought the best fabric and sewn the dress herself.

Mirai : Mother...

Ignoring the clear change in attitude from Dawn, he had fully taken in his persona as Origin Averion.

Mirai drifted her subconscious into those distant memories, it was a hot summer...she and Catherine went to the market without any guards.

They brought for what is worth a few gold coins of silk, raw material for a dress...

Afterward, they went back to the castle and spent several days drawing a beautiful design...this dress held a special meaning to Catherine and Mirai.

It's a dress that will be worn the day Mirai becomes an adult...

Mirai : It's really pretty...

Origin smiled sweetly, he could still see in his hazy memories the younger Mirai...innocent and pure, a little girl who would run at him while asking for tutoring.

She had grown up into this lady and it was now time for her to become a woman.

Origin : Let's enter.

Mirai : Yes ?

Origin : People are waiting for us.

Not wanting to explain any further, he stepped into the room...a golden light shimmered with Mirai following.

Mirai Pov

I shut my eyes close for an instant, trying to adapt my vision to the bright colors that illuminated the inside.

A slander of noise tickled my ears, I rubbed my cheeks before finally looking around.

The room was luxurious, filled with the vassals of our family...they were dressed nobly, to the point where I would almost believe that this was a royal ballroom.

Mirai : Then all those people are also...

Origin : Surprised to see so many loyal subjects ?

Mirai : Yes, but at the same time...this helped me realize how great of a leader you truly were.

This unity is what I would describe as pride of mankind...in a way, emperor Rudra had a similar ambition but on a greater scale.

I could only imagine how different the world would be if father and Rudra would have lived during the same era and been allies.

Mirai : But what's the reason for this gathering ? What is that ceremony Butler Richford talked about ?

Origin : Don't be impatient, you'll see soon.

Our walk finally ended at the furthest back of the room, in front of us was a long staircase leading to a platform.

This was a throne room, and those stairs led to that very chair...but none of that mattered, when I finally noticed a presence that stood on the very top...

Just beside the throne, lady Shyria who was like aunt to me, but another presence even greater stood on aunt Shyria's left.

Mirai : Mother...

My feet moved instinctively, I tried to run toward her but failed as father grabbed my shoulder causing my entire body to freeze.

Origin : Keep smiling from now on.

Mirai : Huh ?

Origin : It's about time we begin...

I watched him confused, he removed his hand from my shoulder and started walking up the stairs on his own.

The entire room was silent, all eyes fixated on father, and as he reached the final step...he stood proudly beside mother and aunt Shyria.

Origin : A long time ago, I had overtaken this seat of grand duke from my father...and now after an eternity of patience, it is about time my reign reaches a closure.

His voice was strongly amplified with magic reaching up for not only me but the whole world of fate.

Origin : My fight, our fight has ended with a splendid victory...and thus, shall this mantle of mine be passed to my heir.

My eyes widened as I took in full gasp of his meaning...

Origin : Let us begin the last chapter of my rule ! I hereby declare the beginning of this rite of succession !

W-what ? Succession...just the mention of that word made my blood shiver.

If it was me of the past, I would be overjoyed...finally recognized worthy by my father...I would succeed him and uphold the glory of our duchy.

But now...this term just made me realize my father's intention, this title defines his rule.

Passing it down means that he has finished his duty, that it is time for him to leave...

Mirai : I-I can't...

I murmured to myself, a bed of sweat formed on my back...i don't want this...

Catherine : Mirai...

Mirai : !!!

The echo of a familiar voice brought me back, I glanced at my mother...her comforting gaze washed all my worry like a healing spell.

I prayed open my mouth only for no word to come out.

Catherine : Don't show such a face, it's unfitting for a grand moment like this one.

Mirai : Ha...

Right, I remember...all those etiquette lessons I had under mother's tutelage, remain calm and proud under any circumstance.

That was rule number 1, this moment...this celebration was always a distant dream that became forsaken through time.

Mirai : I can't disappoint them...

Yeah, that's the last thing I want...I don't have any friends, I don't have a lover, heck I don't even have any subordinates.

All that I have is my family, leaving them disappointed would be the ultimate line to not cross.

Origin : Come up, Mirai...help us set our glory to the next era of it's history.

I took a deep breath, relaxing all the pent up stress...my foot smashed the ground taking a decisive step toward the staircase.

The first step, then second...all unveiled unimaginably fast and before I knew, I stood right in front of my parents.

Origin : Will you hold our hope and honor ?

Mirai : Yes...

Like a smooth river, I naturally knew what to do...the buried time where I had perfectly learned etiquette for this very moment.

All came back crashin to my present self...my left knee bent down, gently laid to the ground.

I curled my hand into a tight fist and held it in my heart, the long white cape flew down majestically behind.

Mirai : I make the oath of resolution, I will carry the flag of glory until the end of my reign.

Firm and confident, don't let any of your nervousness show...a noble's image is their first and main shield.

Mirai : Until the duchy now longer needs me, I will be this land's face and p-pride.

Unfortunately, my voice broke down at the end...no matter how strong I got mentally, I could only dread knowing the next scenario.

Origin : (Yes, if it's you right now...I can leave without regrets.)

Holding my gaze low, I heard the sound of a sword slicing the air...the thin and sharp noise followed by a loud crack.

Coming into my field of vision, the tip of a sword piercing the cold floor...[Shin Exalia], the divine weapon that belonged to my father.

Origin : Raise.

At his command, I stood back up...my height a head short, I involuntarily glanced toward mother who simply smiled.

Catherine : (As expected you shine the brightest with this dress.)

Closing her eyes, she signaled me to focus back on the ceremony which I obliged.

Origin : Mirai Averion, my child...my heir, you grew up exceeding all my expectations.

Huh ? This wasn't part of the ceremony...

Origin : I'm proud of you.

Mirai : I-I...

Origin : Unfortunately, I have no land left to give you...you will inherit a title devoid of sense.

Mirai : That doesn't matter...

Origin : It does, this ceremony is in fact meaningless in our circumstance but I selfishly wanted it to happen...because this was my dream and pride to see you succeed me.

Oh father...

Origin : This sword is my greatest possession [Shin Exalia], a weapon classed Genesis...here your trial, tame this wild sword, make it yours.

A cold aura manifested from the blade, as if protesting against this order...I myself couldn't comprehend this action.

Averion never had any mythological heirloom to be passed down on the new ruler, but instead of giving me a dead duchy.

He opted for this solution, to give me a weapon greater than any other...

Origin : Prove it in front of all, Mirai Averion...prove them that you surpassed me and your mother.

Really...you know me way too well, father.

There is no need for hesitation, I simply walked up to the incrusted blade and reached my hand for the handle.

[Shin Exalia], this sword was perfect in many ways...for a swordsman, being given such a weapon would be the grail and ultimate achievement.

Origin : I know you can do it.

Under his conservative and protective gaze, I let myself be pulled into a mindscape away from reality.

It was a field of darkness that took shape, the surroundings developed into a sort of arena...empty without any spectator or sign of life aside from one.

Standing and facing me, a lady in her prime...long silver hair and equally dazzling eyes, she could be called the very definition of « Moon's Reflection ».

A crystal white armor of ice covering her whole body, I instinctively knew who that was...

Mirai : The transcendantal blade, Shin Exalia.

Holding a sword replicating her own true body...I had a little knowledge about this being, a sword that defies logic itself.

A genesis graded weapon is already on par with an awakened individual, but their property changes depending on the nature and wielder of the said weapon.

[Shin Exalia]'s true power lies in its ability to negate all resistance being physical or spiritual...it can inflige damage to non alive objects and cut down things that can't be comprehended.

The soul corridor could be an example, if wanted [Shin Exalia] could just slash it down...but father has never truly exploited this sword at its maximum potential.

Shin Exalia : How annoying...

Maybe that's why father wanted to leave this sword with me...it's not because he wasn't capable of using [Shin Exalia] at its full power.

Instead, he never intended to because it was simply not necessary...all those that crossed blades with him, the enemies he faced...

Even after several millennia, perhaps even more than an eternity...he had never encountered a threat that enabled him to use that power, just relying on his own skill.

Shin Exalia : I knew this was bound to come, but I really can't...master, i only have one master..

Raising her sword, with a single swipe...the world around us shattered, leaving us in the middle of an endless sea of void.

This was her true nature, slicing reality and space itself...

Shin Exalia : Mirai Averion, I don't recognize you as worthy...thus I shall enact a plan out of my own greed.

A weapon wh possess emotion and a will, her eyes intensively shone like two moons reaching the state of eclipse.

Mirai : You got a plan, huh...I guess Kyuri wasn't the only one close to father who had the intention of betraying him.

Shin Exalia : What other choice do I have ?

A betrayal, yeah...but that is not a treason built from malice, it is merely the projection of their love and loyalty to their master.

Mirai : And how exactly do you intend to save your father ?

I wanted to know too, because if there was even the slightest chance to reverse his fate...then I would gladly bow down and beg for his safety.

Shin Exalia : I will cut down fate...no, not only fate, the law that founded creation, the reality that serves as existence, even god itself...i will tear down everything until master regains his true right.

Releasing her killing intent, I was prepared but even so my body jolted and shook.

A master has to be stronger than their weapon, it's a rule that most follow...i can only dread just thinking how many could actually lift [Shin Exalia] without her disapproving.

Mirai : I see, what a sad transition.

Shin Exalia : What ?

Her words contradicted her aura. I am not familiar with her enough to understand her intention.

But, it is clear to me that [Shin Exalia] accepted the inevitable truth and is only trying to defy fate...

Mirai : Your attempt to change things is futile and you know it, right...

The fact that she let father act and reach this point, she didn't bother to try stopping him before because she accepted this reality.

A struggle of despair at the very last moment.

Mirai : Then I can only answer your will.

Coating myself with my own power, I didn't activate fate or any skill...just my raw power manifesting into a shield of silverish aura.

My power and her killing intent clashing, we didn't move...this was purely a fight of will.

Shin Exalia : You are more cunning than you look, fine then prove yourself worthy !

Mirai : Prove myself ? Ridiculous...it's you who has to prove yourself !

Pride, this was a trial given to me by my parents...the people I cherish and look up.

There is no way I'll let a weapon dictate my fate !

3rd Pov

Meanwhile, on the outside...all eyes were on Mirai who was focused on her trial.

Her eyes shut while both her body and the sword stuck in the ground shook violently.

Shyria : She is fighting back, huh.

Catherine : What else would you expect from my daughter ? She took after her father's fighting tendencies.

Shyria : Heh, that's true...she is more of daddy's girl than mommy.

The two of them discussing freely while waiting, Origin smirked while keeping his eyes on Mirai.

Catherine : Not only her, even Unmei took after him...i'm really unlucky, maybe if we had a son, he would be more like me.

Shyria : Mmh, a little prince would have been nice...not that I'm complaining about our two princesses.

Origin : You two sure get along, it's kind of ironic how as Sola and Luna, you were more enemies than allies.

Catherine/Shyria : Oh shut it !

Origin snickered at their sync while both just realized their mistake and looked away with a pout.

Origin : How cute.

Catherine : Your personality did change a little bit, you are more daring it seems.

Origin : It just came with the ages.

Catherine : Oh...by the way, I heard about your long journey in the otherworlds.

Origin : Is that so ?

Catherine : Unfortunately, I couldn't watch you since I had to stay with our daughter.

Suddenly, Origin felt a chill down his spine as if a cold scythe was placed below his neck.

Catherine : Answer me honestly and I won't get mad, how many women did you seduce out there.

Shyria : Pffff-

While Shyria let out a loud chuckle that she failed to contain, she found it amusing to see the composed Catherine snap.

Shyria : (Oh man, you're screwed...)

Origin : ...

Catherine : Can I take your silence as a confession ? Or are you counting the number because it's too high ?

Origin : Well, let's say Dawn Arceid is the one who had his adventurous time out there, I am innocent.

His answer triggered Catherine's nerves as she smiled sweetly...and very dangerously.

Origin : In any case, there was no other woman who could make my heart beat as fast as with you.

Catherine : Oh my~

Her negativity cleared right away, scattered along the wind as her cheek reddened lightly.

It seems she never truly intended to blame him for that, being understanding is an important factor in a healthy relationship.

Shyria : (Ara, my lady is really smitten by him...well, we are all aware of how much time has passed for the duke, no one would be cruel enough to rip him the right of any human joy.)

Origin : In the end, it would be quite shameless for me to deny a wrong doing of mine, if you have any payback in mind, don't hesitate.

Catherine : A payback, huh...so you did cheat on me...

Her glare coming back, she stared at her husband for another instant before exhaling.

Catherine : Idiot, how could I ever be angry at you when you are so honest...

Origin : Is that so ?

Catherine : Yeah, I'm not really mad, just make sure I never cross paths with those ladies cuz I'll bring them all down to hell with me.

Origin : Scary...

Catherine : Anyway, you're the man I chose so there is no way I'll hate you for something like that.

Her voice gradually fading into a whisper, she ended her sentence with a soft smile...crossing her arm, her stern expression returned when a strong reaction came from Mirai's direction.

Shyria : Oh, how much time has passed ?

Origin : Around seven hundred eighty one years in the mind scape.

Shyria : That much, your sword sure is stubborn.

Catherine : Her attachment for you is commendable.

881 years, that was the time that passed for Mirai and [Shin Exalia] in the realm of their mind...their fighting spirit constantly clashing for so long.

And then only after this span of time did Mirai break the first layer around [Shin Exalia]'s shell...

Origin : This makes it nine hundred twenty-two years now...

As more time passed, and the line of the thousand was crossed...Mirai's body started reacting to their fight, adjusting to the intensity, a beam of light engulfed the castle and world of fate.

Everything was swallowed, leaving none of the dream like heaven's place recreated from Mirai's memories...instead, an endless plain of water.

An ocean of clear blue sea, towered by a vast sky filled with large clouds...everything was returned to the purest form of Mirai's fate.

But none of the people were harmed...Origin stood still accompanied by his wife and friend.

The only difference is that the hundred of thousands of souls belonging to the citizens were forced to return as spherical forms.

Purple spheres full of crack, it was their true form...the human appearance they previously displayed was just the manifestation of their memories and how they remember their body before death.

But in reality, they are souls who are on the verge of breaking...the price to pay for allowing Origin Averion to strengthen his own soul.

Origin : A ruler who had to sacrifice his people...that's my true identity in the end.

Even if he tried to ignore the countless souls floating around by focusing on Mirai who remained still, the years in the mindscape keep rolling up.

He couldn't wash away his own guilt...

Therion : It was a choice that we made, my lord.

Richford : The general is right, we at least owe your eminence this much.

Among the only few who managed to retain their appearance, their consolation could only make Origin's heart waver.

Origin : Your flattery still hasn't dulled.

Veronique : It's not flattery, my lord, the world you showed us was priceless...even if we reincarnate, we would be too greedy to live in an inferior system.

Athea : And even if we forget upon reincarnation, we would simply feel unattended.

Was it by pure respect or maybe it was their true feeling, Origin couldn't really tell but naturally a sad smile was all the answer he could give at the moment.

Catherine : How touching.

Shyria : Mmh ? (Is it me or Lady Catherine just now, she sounded...sad?)

Another radiant explosion followed as Mirai's struggle reached past the 5 thousands years...several stars implosed in the sky painting the world with a series of beautiful fireworks.

Origin : She did it...

As if the realm of fate [Wheel of Fate] sent her courteous regard, feasting before her success...and congratulating her for a long victory.

Mirai reopened her eyes, those gleaming wildly as she showed signs of mental fatigue.

She appeared cold and with a swift and strong pull, she snatched [Shin Exalia] out of the ground now water.

Swinging the blade in the air, no resistance was felt in the handle...she has become the master of a genesis weapon.

Catherine : She really did it, it's incredible...her power might have increased by twofold.

Origin : It's not just that, remember she is my daughter...who else would be more compatible with [Shin Exalia] than my own child.

Shyria : (This is an understatement...that day when they declared that lady Mirai will surpass both of them, it has finally come true...)

At this very moment, it was the end of a life...the little princess of Averion has finally spread her wings and become a woman worthy to hold everything in her own hands.

Without a word, Mirai shealted her new sword and knelt down before her father.

Mirai : I have received your legacy...

Containing all the emotion she has, her appearance was grander than any before.

Origin : You fulfilled all the conditions, then from now on...i acknowledge Mirai Averion as my successor, raise your head.

Looking up as he said, her eyes met with the warmness and proud gaze of her parents and guardians.

Origin : I hereby declare Mirai Averion as grand duchess of Averion, follow your own path and live long, my daughter.

Mirai : I accept this role...

A reality she was forced to accept and live in...

Raising from the ground, all the souls present cheered for her rise to power...as for Mirai herself, she felt a sense of fulfillment.

A tiny smile crippling her lips, it is a day where she was the brightest star...

Mirai : If only time could stop now and keep this day running endlessly...

The festivity dying down, Mirai was once again reminded of the precarity they were in.

This whole situation was instigated with its conclusion already set, turning around the joy in her eyes was replaced with a deep sadness.

As the light that emanated from her body started dissipating, all the souls around too started glowing...indicating their imminent departure.

It was the same for Catherine, Shyria and the other apparent souls...only Origin remained relatively fine since he was a complete soul.

Mirai : Is it already the end ? Can't you all stay a bit longer ?

Catherine : Not quite exactly, dear duchesse...there is still one last chapter to this conclusion.

Mirai : Eh ?

Her words brought confusion to all, and beings soul or people...everyone instinctively shifted their attention toward Origin.

He was at the end, the mastermind behind all this...his expression remained warm, savouring the present instant.

Origin : So you figured me out, I guess even for me it's too hard to hide things from my wife.

Catherine : Your purpose, your duty...is to give everyone the ending they deserve...them being allies or foe.

Shyria : What do you-wait !

As if the answer was revealed to her, Shyria looked down at her hands...they were glowing and particles of light crumbled her skin.

It wasn't their salvation as they wanted...no, it wasn't even death by erasure.

Shyria : The souls are being repaired ?

Her statement was enough for all to comprehend their lord's intent, Origin smiling on the side alone.

He didn't meet anyone's gaze, simply looked away smiling.

Athea : Repaired...but we committed the great sins of challenging fate...

Veronique : Yes, we should pay the price by ceasing to exist altogether.

Yet the complete opposite was happening.

Mirai : I see...so this is your final duty as a ruler...

She wasn't surprised, Mirai was only saddened...

Therion : M-my lord...

Origin : Everything has a beginning and an end, I had the chance to live through time itself...experiencing life in its every angle.

Emotion dwelling in his voice, he walked past his subordinate to stand alone further away from the group.

Origin : I achieved everything there could, but you folk barely lived through half a life...ending your stories would be too much of a waste.

The ethereal scenery of a lone man standing on the surface of a perfectly calm ocean...the sun shining brightly clearing his face charmingly.

Origin : I shall convey all the sins for myself, there is no need to sacrifice any of you...my existence alone will make up for our collective sin.

Using [God's Authority], he had fully separated all the souls from his own...they were nearly shattered so he had to restore them as well.

That is also why he imposed that trial to Mirai, to gain more time...Origin/Dawn was aware of [Shin Exalia]'s feelings and used them to stall time.

Since all eyes were on her, he could swiftly impose his plan without anyone protesting.

Origin : There is no need to concern yourself, and this is also my last order to you all, don't look back...the future is yours to conquer, I shall be the shield of your past.

Even without a wall, there was a clear separation between Origin and the other...the ocean itself was splitted.

Not literally but the color of the water differed, a dark shade under origin while the opposite was clear as the sky.

Richford : My lord...h-how could you...

Therion : We had made the vow to follow you, why break our resolve now...

They were given the right to exist again, to join the cycle of reincarnation but no one was pleased by this decision.

Shyria : The salvation of a ruler, I see...it seems like you won't be able to release your regrets if we follow you.

Flash of light illuminated some of the souls, as one by one they healed before disappearing...forced to return into the natural cycle of life and death.

Athea : Wait ! Please reconsider, my lord !

Therion : Yes ! Our own salvation laid with you-

Origin : Enough...

An authoritative command that halted their protest, the group of faithful subordinates looked up to their lord in disdain.

But upon meeting his gaze, eyes filled with resolution...they could only be rendered speechless.

Biting their lips, how could they not attend to their lord's wishes...

Origin : As expected from my people, take your sweet time before joining me...it would be even better if you never follow me.

The knights and attendant bowing down, they couldn't retain their tears any longer.

Therion : D-don't say that, my lord...if a next life truly exists, then i shall reincarnate again and again until we reunite.

Athea : He is right, please wait for us.

Breaking down, their bodies start decomposing in particles...looking back at Origin, his peaceful composure forced them to smile.

A sad smile full of tears...

Richford : We shall carry your will, my lord.

Origin : I'm sure you will (Eventually, you're all bound to return to the central world...then I can only hope they will serve my daughter as they served me.)

It was a bitter-sweet taste, he had to admit...leaving the people close to you behind is never something easy.

He had to come to terms with it, their souls fading away...only then did Origin release a deep sigh.

Shyria : Is this really necessary ? Those 4 were ready to follow you anywhere.

Origin : Anywhere isn't an option, my existence will fade completely...the world itself will forget all about, the record of history and time, all will be erased.

But his action will remain, those who had once known him will only remember a nameless hero, someone without a face or appearance.

A being lingering endlessly in people's memories without ever being identified...

Origin : Shyria, you'll have to leave as well.

Shyria : ...i know, you really managed to settle everything in your way up until the end.

Origin : It is how it is...by the way, Shyria won't you make me a favor ?

Shyria : You know...a favor is meant to be given and returned, ah whatever, what do you need ?

Origin : Take this little one with you.

Stretching his hand, a pure light emanated as a spirit of light manifested into a physical form, bowing her head, she was the greater spirit Dusk.

Shyria : What ?

Dusk : I greet my new master...

Shyria : What are you...

Origin : I had exposed my plan to both her and Shin Exalia, their future stage was settled since then.

Naturally, neither truly accepted their fate...but just like Therion, Athea and the other...they couldn't go against Origin/Dawn's words.

Origin : Dusk will follow and protect you, your reincarnation will be special so take care of yourself.

Shyria : ... I see, there is no room for protest, Dusk...will you come with me ?

Shyria was a kind soul, a perfect fit for Dusk who was a spirit of light...but even with his compatibility, a loyalty that lasted millennia isn't easy to break.

Dusk : I will- be in your care.

Giving a last glance at her first master, she conveyed all she wanted to say in a sparkle of light which was successfully received.

Origin smiled and waved his hand...

Origin : Take care of yourself as well.

Dusk : Yes...

Walking away, the words that were stuck in her throat were communicated telepathically.

« Thank you for this wonderful journey, my first and true master... »

Origin : (Yeah, live a better life from now on...thank you for your hard work.)

Feeling a major part of his power seeping away, what he didn't disclose is that he had attached another one of his hero eggs into Dusk.

Meaning that Shyria will be reborn with the talent of a true hero...with two of his eggs gone, Origin felt weaker than he ever was but that is fine.

Shyria : We both are losing someone important, hopefully this will allow us to grow closer...

Dusk : Yeah, let's go already...

Shyria let out a soft smile, she reached out her hand offering compassion and a new life to the spirit, which Dusk accepted reluctantly.

The contract was sealed almost instantly, and finally Shyria started disappearing...following the rest of the souls...

Dusk : (It's so warm and cold at the same time...)

Shyria : Another journey is awaiting us, i am not like Origin-san but I really hope I'll become a master worthy of your attention.

The sun went up accompanied with the dusk while the moon remained with the dawn..

Their existence fading, a tense silence remained with the departure of two important souls.

Now all that were left was the family that detained the name of Averion...Origin, Mirai and Catherine.

While the daughter remained silent, Catherine stared at her own body perplex.

Catherine : It seems you want to get rid of me as well.

Origin : Our daughter still needs a parent, I had my share of our time together...

Catherine : Mmh...

Looking over Mirai, the daughter shook her head with a sad smile...this was enough for Catherine to make a decision.

Clenching her hand, a shattering sound followed, startling even Origin.

Origin : What ?

Catherine : You are really hopeless.

Just now, she had broken down the very restoration of her soul...the logic behind her action couldn't be comprehended as she shouldn't possess the capability to affect the spiritual aspect.

Yet she managed to stop the effect of [God Authority] on her own.

Origin : How...

Catherine : Don't you remember who your wife is ? I'm an unparalleled genius in the magic realm.

Taking a step over the surface, an undulation cleared the path as she approached...her hands gently caught Origin's cheek.

Catherine : Mirai will be fine, we both believe in her to shape the future, she is our hope after all.

Origin : Catherine...

Catherine : Let us leave and share our sins together, I will follow you until the end of non-existence.

Origin : Are you sure ?

Placing his own hand over Catherine's, he gave a glance at Mirai who nodded...she herself had come to term with this conclusion.

Mirai : Father, mother...I-I will be fine, so p-please...rest w-well.

She reflected her emotion and hid them albeit letting a few slip into her sentence.

Origin : Still-

Catherine : Shhh, you were alone for long enough, let me fill my rôle as your wife, okay ?

Origin : I really can't win against you can't I ?

Perhaps, the reason Catherine was able to break her soul restoration is because Origin himself wanted her to follow.

It was a selfish wish that he tried to deny but his own power wasn't his to fully control...rather it was just a manifestation of his inner self, his true feeling.

Catherine : No you can't, but you can try again...we'll be together for a long time now.

Origin : Together...

Catherine : Yes together, just you and me.

Elancing her arm behind his neck, she sensually approached her face from his...their forehead touching, their body pressed against each other.

Their lips finally brushed against each other's, their existence wavering at this point.

Mirai watched with deep emotion, now being the one to stand alone...

Mirai : (I'm really proud to have both of you as my parents...)

Tears rolled down her cheek as she watched them, a phenomenon unknown to creation resolved around their bodies.

Outlining their figure, Origin and Catherine separated, eventually holding each other's hand...they faced their daughter one last time.

But not only her, another presence suddenly emerged beside Mirai...a figure with dark hair and eyes, a person that Origin held a immense debt.

Origin : I'll leave the rest to you.

This person's presence didn't startle Mirai, she seemed to have expected its arrival...

Origin : Dawn Arceid.

Dawn : Yeah leave it to me...

The one to die isn't Dawn Arceid but Origin Averion, they are the same person but also different...Dawn Arceid was the culmination of 3 individuals.

Elite3532's memories, Origin Averion's existence and his own will...separating the last remaining Hero egg from his existence.

Dawn becomes his own person while Origin Averion's identity will be erased...all memories related to him will leave Dawn's existence.

Origin : And sorry, I robbed your life...

Dawn : Don't mind it.

There was no need for any further discussion, Origin and Catherine slowly evaporated their very existence.

All regret settled, it was time for them to truly leave, a last check up on their daughter and they departed.

The weight of their name dissipating...Mirai still remembered them even after they left.

A beacon of light cleared the entire creation serving as the conclusion for a long story...

Mirai and Dawn at the end stood there, until the very last particle vanished into the void...the silence itself spoke high volume as they paid respect to the two heroes left behind.

Mirai : It's a bitter conclusion for my two greatest heroes.

Her hand was left hanging as she tried to catch one of the last few particles, only for it to melt into her hand.

Her eyes only grew colder then, as she finally turned toward the man that stood at her side.

Mirai : And you, what are you planning to do now ?

This man wasn't her father, he had the appearance of Dawn Arceid before the memories awakening...the best way to describe him would be...

He is the man who had lived from his birth 2000 years ago, and the one who had traveled through countless worlds...

He was everything that Origin didn't take with him...

Dawn : I still have a duty left to achieve, for that we'll have to go separate way.

Mirai : And I suppose you can't tell me what's that duty ?

Dawn shook his head negatively, but his lips moved to give a vague answer.

Dawn : I'm just going to protect the seed of hope.

Mirai : Is that so, then what should I do ?

Her voice reverberated across the realm, she knew that her father wouldn't leave thing to luck at this point.

The looming threat that is Ivarage is still lurking around, and the fact that Dawn remained could only mean the next step is that.

Dawn : Go back to the central world and fight, protect everyone...as for now on, your willpower will determine whether those people live or not.

Mirai : By those people, you mean...

Dawn : Protect Velzard, Ramiris and the others for me...

This Dawn Arceid was the one who got close to them...but he knew that the nexxt they meet, thing will be different.

Perhaps, there won't even be a next time...

Mirai : I will do that then.

Holding [Shin Exalia] in hand, Mirai felt lost...she had decided to go with whatever legacy left by her parents.

Seeking an answer for herself after they had won, the world reacted to her will and the [Wheel of Fate] gradually broke down.

A portal formed across the space praying for Mirai to cross it.

Dawn : This portal leads to where Ivarage is.

Mirai : Mmh, tell me Dawn...is this a goodbye as well ?

Dawn : I'd say so, from this point onward the future is bleak...

Mirai : Then i'll take it as we won't meet again.

Her heart was wounded, in this short span of time...she had seen war and blood, her new friends being injured for her sake and finally her own family leaving her behind.

All this and the only reward she got is this ultimate power...two awakened hero eggs, the full control over fate and the strongest type a weapon could achieve.

She was at her prime, a peak that couldn't further be increased...

Mirai : I will defeat Ivarage, no matter what it takes...

Her last mission as well...she was the duchess of Averion, the brightest star and the true main character of this story.
