Her own disciple liking someone else's summoning beast made Tsunade very unhappy. Although slugs indeed didn't have much combat ability, being more for auxiliary attacks with limited offensive means, they couldn't compare to Orochimaru's Manda or Jiraiya's Gamabunta.
