Chapter 30 - THIRTY

Saraph approached me with a request that challenged my perceptions and patience.

Sarap had been a steadfast confidante through many of life's ups and downs.

Her advice was something I valued, and her perspective often provided clarity in times of confusion.

So, when she approached me with a plea on behalf of Daniel, I found myself at a crossroads.

"Please," Saraph implored, "give Daniel a chance to explain himself.

He's been calling me, pleading for you to at least listen to what he has to say."

I felt a wave of resistance rise within me. The thought of listening to Daniel filled me with apprehension.

The past was fraught with misunderstandings and half-truths that had left me wary of his intentions.

Saraph, however, seemed convinced that there was more to the story than I was willing to acknowledge.

"Saraph," I replied, my voice tinged with frustration, "I can't stand the thought of him spinning another tale.

Listening to any lie of his feels like an exercise in futility."

But Saraph remained undeterred. Her eyes held a sincerity that was hard to ignore.

"Sometimes," she said gently, "listening isn't about agreeing or believing.

It's about giving someone the space to be heard. It doesn't mean you have to accept everything they say as truth."

Her words lingered in the air, challenging my resolve.

I realized that perhaps my reluctance to listen was rooted in fear of being hurt again, fear of being deceived.

Saraph, I understand what you're saying, but I can't forgive Daniel. Seriously, not after what I witnessed.

You know about my past relationships, everything I went through.

You are very much aware that I promised not to give any guy a chance.

But meeting Daniel, I decided to give him a chance, thinking he was worth it

But he has also repeated the same thing, "he betrayed me", "Saraph, I need time to process all this.

Besides, if he is sorry, he has to prove it; I can't forgive him or listen to him while he is still living with another woman.

It's unfair how I stayed loyal to him, but he didn't.

Saraph: Sure, I'm aware of everything. Don't worry, everything will be fine, my dear friend.

I'm always here to support you on anything you decide on, "okay." Take all the time to think about what you will prefer.

Nuella: "Thank you for always supporting me, Saraph. You're such a darling."

Saraph: Don't mention, I'm always here for you.

After conversing with Saraph,

part of me understood the importance of empathy and open-mindedness.

As we sat chatting about random kinds of stuff, we both felt the need to escape the confines of our usual routine.

The idea of stepping outside for a leisurely walk seemed like the perfect remedy to our restless spirits.

With a nod of agreement, we decided to venture out into the world.

The afternoon was painted with hues of golden sunlight, casting a warm glow over everything it touched.

We ambled along familiar paths, our footsteps in sync, as we soaked in the serene beauty of our surroundings.

The gentle rustle of leaves and the distant chirping of birds provided a soothing soundtrack to our thoughts.

Our conversation flowed effortlessly, touching upon dreams, aspirations, and the inevitable challenges that lay ahead.

We shared stories of past adventures and contemplated the future that awaited us beyond the walls of our college.

It was a comforting reminder that despite the uncertainties, we had each other to lean on.

The hours slipped by unnoticed as we wandered, savoring the simplicity of the moment.

It was a brief respite from the pressures of impending deadlines and exams. Our walk served as a gentle reminder to pause and appreciate the present, even as we yearned for what lay ahead.

Soon, the short break would be over, and college would resume its relentless pace.

The thought of graduation loomed large in my mind, a milestone that promised both excitement and apprehension.

I found myself wishing for the day when I could finally don that cap and gown, leaving behind every memory that had shaped my journey.

Yet, as much as I longed to graduate and move forward, I knew that these moments spent with Saraph were precious.

They were the threads that wove together the tapestry of my college experience.

Each memory, whether joyous or challenging, had contributed to my growth and resilience.

As we made our way back home, I felt a renewed sense of gratitude for the friendships and experiences that had defined my years.

While I looked forward to the future with anticipation, I also cherished the present, each step a testament to the journey we were on.

Our walk was more than just a break from routine; it was a celebration of friendship and a reminder to embrace every moment, no matter how fleeting.

And as the end of college day approached, I knew that these memories would forever hold a special place in my heart.
