"Kill them!"
"Kill them!"
"Kill them!"
The White Zetsu burst out of the ground like frenzied beasts, forming a white tidal wave as they charged at the Uchiha.
Relying on their overwhelming numbers, they crashed through the Uchiha's Fire Style defenses head-on.
"What the..."
The Uchiha felt their scalps go numb. Once again, they were forced into close combat with these monstrous creatures.
If they weren't Uchiha…
If they didn't possess the Sharingan with three tomoe...
Any other clan in the ninja world would have been wiped out by the relentless charges of these tireless, ever-regenerating White Zetsu.
Yu reached into his storage space and pulled out a Green Medicine.
It was a small vial, sealed with a wooden cork.
Inside was a deep green liquid. Through the glass, small bubbles could be seen rising and swirling—as if the liquid itself held immense and vibrant life force.
"What is that?"
Nono leaned closer, her large eyes behind round glasses locked onto the vial in Yu's hand. Her brows first furrowed, then relaxed.
She sniffed slightly—then her eyes lit up, as though she had caught the scent of something extraordinary.
Pop—
Yu shook his head and removed the cork, then held the vial out toward Nonoyu. "Check this for me. Is it drinkable?"
A light, refreshing fragrance wafted through the air. It was like air purified to perfection, carrying the essence of spring's most vigorous life energy.
Nono's hands trembled as she carefully held Yu's hand with the vial. Her eyes widened as she brought it to her nose and took a cautious sniff.
In that instant, she felt as though she were bathing in the very source of life itself—her spirit was uplifted, her mind suddenly sharp. She nearly experienced a high from the sheer purity.
Just then—
The nearby White Zetsu seemed to sense the life energy lingering in the air. Something about it resonated with their very nature—as if it shared the same origin.
"That's mine..."
"That's mine!!"
The White Zetsu's eyes glowed green with greed and hunger.
It was as though, if they could absorb the Green Medicine in Yu's hand, they would evolve, ascend, and transform into higher beings.
In that instant—
Every White Zetsu was once again drawn toward Yu. They surged in his direction, stampeding over the battlefield.
During their mad rush, they didn't hesitate to attack each other—kicking companions aside, grabbing ankles to trip and block each other.
The Uchiha, who had been fighting them just moments ago, were left dumbfounded as the creatures turned away from them and began tearing into each other instead.
"I think... it's drinkable..."
Nono reluctantly let go of Yu's hand, her beautiful eyes still fixed on the handsome young man.
Mikoto, meanwhile, was stunned by how Yu had conjured the Green Medicine out of nowhere—just like he had done with that eerie black blade before.
Seeing the White Zetsu closing in fast, Yu didn't hesitate. He pulled the Green Medicine back. He could faintly sense its purpose now—though he wasn't entirely certain.
Holding the vial tightly—
Yu noticed that more and more White Zetsu were emerging all around. It was clear now: Obito was going all in.
Scanning the battlefield—
Yu looked up. Among the faces of the White Zetsu—full of fear, rage, and desperation as they tried to reach for him—he tilted his head back and poured the Green Medicine into his mouth, swallowing it.
"No! No! NO!!"
The White Zetsu let out furious roars.
Yu casually tossed the nearly empty vial of Green Medicine to the ground.
In the next instant—
A cool, refreshing sensation flowed through his throat, while his nose filled with the purest scent of life energy.
The liquid entered his body and instantly permeated his cell membranes, activating deep within the nuclei.
It surged with immense vitality.
A faint green shadow appeared around Yu's eyes—then quickly faded. In that moment, he felt as if he had merged with nature itself.
All his exhaustion vanished.
The chakra he had burned through earlier—
His stamina—
His mental energy—
Even the irreversible internal damage caused by the red pill began to rapidly heal. His physical strength received a noticeable boost.
Yu was astonished by the Green Medicine's potency—and the fact that it had no side effects.
At that moment, he could clearly sense the natural energy held within plants up to 500 meters around him. That energy was wilting, condensing, transforming—flowing into his body as pure life force.
So—
One of the Green Medicine's effects was to absorb the natural energy from plants within a 500-meter radius, convert it into usable energy, instantly restore the body's condition, and heal injuries—both internal and external.
Clink—
The vial hit the ground and shattered. The last few drops of the medicine seeped into the cracks between the stones.
A White Zetsu had already reached Yu's position. It dropped to its knees, frantically licking the shards, trying to absorb the life energy still lingering in the glass.
Suddenly, where those last drops had landed, the stone was pushed aside by an unseen force—and a vine burst from the earth, growing wildly.
It was bright green, lush and thick with leaves.
At first, the vine was only as thick as a thumb. But in the next moment, it swelled like a wild serpent—sprouting roots, buds, and countless offshoots.
Yu furrowed his brow.
A realization struck him.
By infusing the ground with both Earth and Water style chakra, he could now control the mutated vine born from the Green Medicine—and not only it, but all plant life within a 500-meter radius centered around him.
This was the Green Medicine's second effect.
A strange form of Wood Style?
Yu's own chakra nature was the same as Sasuke's: Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Water, and Yin. He lacked only Yang.
Yet somehow, he met the requirements.
"Entangle!!"
Yu injected dual-natured chakra into the ground—Earth and Water. He gained control over the vine, then raised his right hand and opened his fingers, making a grasping motion in the air toward the White Zetsu fighting over the shards.
Whoosh—
Under the influence of chakra, the vine seemed to come alive.
Thick as a grown man's wrist, its branches moved like giant, nimble pythons—coiling around the White Zetsu's waists, ankles, and thighs. They were lifted into the air, twisted and crushed.
Crack—crack—crack—
The vine constricted like a hunting serpent—tighter and tighter.
The White Zetsu wore looks of horror as they struggled to break free from the vines—but to their shock, the vines had grown sharp barbs that embedded deep into their flesh.
In a flash, one after another, the White Zetsu were impaled and strangled midair by the barbed vines, drained of all life.
The Uchiha stood frozen in place, staring blankly at the monstrous, tree-like vine beast above them. Their mouths hung open, stunned and terrified.
In the distance—
Within the forest—
"Wood Style?!"
"Another stimulant that instantly restores chakra and mental energy?!"
"How many of those meds do you have?!"
Obito could no longer suppress the shock and disbelief in his heart. His single eye locked onto Yu as he snarled in frustration.
Uchiha Yu mastering Wood Style?
Impossible!
Obito's scalp tingled. He froze atop the tree, unsure what to do. By the time he snapped out of it—
He noticed a rustling sound from below.
Looking down, he saw the White Zetsu he had dispatched earlier returning to his location. But now… their pupils bore the pattern of the Yasakani Mangekyō.
Some of the Zetsu were already crouched like beasts ready to pounce, eyes filled with madness—as if possessed—charging directly at Obito.
"…!"
Obito's brow furrowed. He didn't think twice. He activated Kamui and vanished from the spot.
This ambush had completely failed.
Until he figured out Yu's trump cards, Obito had no intention of engaging him head-on. All he could do now was follow from the shadows and wait for reinforcements.
Yu's trump cards just keep coming—one after another, endless!
As for the White Zetsu…
Forget it.
After witnessing that terrifying display, Obito understood clearly—no matter how many Zetsu he sent, they would just end up as disposable pawns for the enemy.
Once Obito fled with Kamui—
Yu finally let out a breath of relief. Under the stunned and disbelieving gazes of the Uchiha, he walked into the wooden cabin.
He was out of trump cards—for now.
Yu walked up to the corpses of Asuma and Jiriku. After removing their waist sashes and tossing them aside, he stored both bodies in his storage space.
The storage space couldn't hold living beings, but preserving corpses was no problem. Very convenient.
Both had bounties on the black market.
One: 35 million ryo.
The other: 30 million ryo.
Yu felt it would be a waste not to make use of them. He had too many mouths to feed now, and after escaping Konoha, he'd need a huge amount of money.
Exiting the cabin—
"Bring the unconscious with us. We're leaving this place immediately—continue the escape."
Yu's voice was calm as he gave the order.
"Yes, Captain!"
The Uchiha trembled with emotion. After taking a moment to collect themselves, they sprang into action.
Yu then walked up to Nono, who stood dazed with her round-framed glasses askew.
"You're coming with us for now."
