Sophie Smith stood on tiptoe, widening her eyes, trying hard to make out the figure in the distance. She could only see Nanny Garcia going out to meet the woman and taking the bag from her hand.
Then Sophie heard Nanny Garcia's footsteps coming upstairs, and soon after, she knocked on Asher Land's study door.
"Young master, Miss Irene is here." Nanny Garcia's voice was full of uncontrollable excitement.
Miss Irene?
Curiosity continually drove Sophie, as she quietly walked to the door, carefully opening it a crack, and cautiously observing everything outside through the gap.
Unfortunately, she could only see their backs. The girl called Miss Irene by Nanny Garcia casually wrapped her arm around Asher Land's, and Asher did not refuse. They seemed somewhat intimate.
The first thought that popped into Sophie's mind was, is this another woman that Asher Land has found?
