Little Lia sat up… she suddenly needed to use the bathroom. She panicked till she was able to sit down. She apparently had too much water last night. She suddenly realized… it was Christmas morning. She bounced on the balls of her feet. She needed to wake her caregivers. Her body was vibrating with excitement. She pushed the door open and shook Olly's arms. He began to pretend to be asleep. She shook his arm again, he acted as thought she woke him from a deep sleep.
"Oh bun you spooked me." He teased while stretching. She started bouncing again. "What's got you so hoppy this morning?" She pointed down the hall toward the living room.
"Olly, don't tease her." Gen said, pulling the covers back. "She's clearly hungry." Little Lia pouted. "Oh wait… I almost forgot it's Christmas, isn't it." She began to bounce again. "Alright, before you bounce to the moon." She came behind Little Lia to check her pull up. "Alright," She patted her bottom. "Let's go see what Santa brought." Little Lia clapped her hand and hurried out of the room.
The two caregivers saw that she stopped in the middle of the hall. They knew what she could see. It was a mountain of presents. They had gotten so excited when shopping. One night when wrapping they realized they had gotten double of things. They sorted the doubles to save for later. She turned back and looked at them, her eyes wide with surprise. They ushered her toward the tree and gifts. Olly sat her down on the floor.
"Alright bun, you can tell us if this gets overwhelming." She nodded at him. He slid three brightly packages over. "Which one do you want to open first?" She pointed to one dark green package in the center. "Good choice." She pulled at the wrapping, it crinkled loudly then tore. She saw bright colors, and a few cute animal faces. She turned the box around. It was a set of blocks, for stacking, spelling, and sorting. She loved the soft yellows and pinks. She was just inspecting the box.
"I'm going to quickly put the kettle on. Lia, do you want some coco?" Little Lia nodded at her. Olly and Gen sat on the couch to drink their tea, they wanted Little Lia to open a few more gifts so her coco had time to cool. She opened a set of overalls, they had an embroidered bunny on the front and little carrot shaped buttons. she held them up to her. "Do you like them?" Little Lia grinned brightly. "Look at the back of them." On the back was an embroidered fluffy tail. She pulled out a light green shirt to go with them. "It will need to be warmer, but maybe we could do a day trip somewhere." The little looked unsure. "Next thing."
The next package had a deep red bow on the top. Olly took it off the paper and stuck it to her head. She giggled and clapped again. The paper fell away from the box of a stool. It was a light purple, she flushed when she realized that it was going to be for time outs.
"We thought you could use some kiddo stuff. A time out stool might help you stay a little." Her face showed she had something she wanted to say. She was smart and did say anything. "Alright Gen, you want to pick the next one." She picked out a long thin package. Little Lia blinked at it. She tried to pull at the paper, and she pulled it over on herself. She squeaked slightly. Gen held it up as she pulled away the paper. It was an easel. Her mouth hung open for a few moments. She was so excited to use that. The next few packages went with the easel, More crayons, large paper, both blank and had things to color.
She felt the tears well up in her eyes. She scrubbed them away, sniffing she went for her coco. She felt both of them wrap an arm around her. She sniffed again. She reached for her stack of index cards and looked through them. She found the one that said 'break' and held it up. She then sat between them while she slowly sipped her coco. She felt Gen rub small circles into her back. She just couldn't believe it… they… wanted to give her a crazy holiday, well they fucking did it.
"Hey Bun, are these happy tears?" Olly said she nodded in response.
"Do you want to have some breakfast before we go back to the gifts?" Little Lia nodded.
They sat Lia at the table once breakfast was ready. Gen placed her plate in front of her. She looked for her silverware. Olly entered the room with one. He sat next to her and scoped up some eggs and offered them to her. She took a bite. The next forkful was strawberries which she chewed happily. He wiped her face every few bites. She sipped some of her juice while Olly took a few bites of his own food. After plates were back in the kitchen, they walked back toward the glowing tree.
Once again she placed it on the floor and Olly handed her a smaller package. A package of new pacifiers and clips to match. A set sipping cups with straws, orange, pink, and yellow. These were more gifts she could handle. A new set of pjs, though these were a onesie with feet covers. She was thankful that the stack of packages was getting smaller. A large package of pull ups, they had different color bunnies on them. She hugged a new bunny plush to her chest after freeing him from his box. She was distracted by him for several minutes. He was sooo soft, a lovely cream color with deep brown eyes. She rubbed her nose against his. Gen and Olly were thankful that they already had a duplicate safely hidden away.
A small box was handed to her. She noted that Olly was trying to make sure it wasn't the last gift. She pulled the snowflake wrapping paper and found a wonderful cherry hairbrush. Her name etched into it with a small bunny head at the end. She gulped. Holding it up and looking uneasy. Olly nodded to confirm. They had gotten her a brush for spanking her bottom specifically. She knew it would live in her bag. Two more packages left. Most of them had been things she would need to be little. She opened one package that seemed to be a bath set. She looked and the label. Chamomile and lavender was the scent. She held it up to them.
"Do you want to smell it?" Gen asked. "I thought it would be helpful at bedtime, and naptime if big girl thoughts get too much." Little Lia nodded in response, she looked at a deep sniff. It smelled so nice, she felt really relaxed already. "There is a lotion and bubble bath." Gen explained. "Alright, now, we do need to clean up this mess."
They watched movies till the afternoon. Gen layed out her blanket, which meant it was time for a change. She lay down and closed her eyes. She awoke a little while later. She rubbed her, she realized Gen was holding her rocking her slightly. She lifted her head up and found a paci offered to her. She took it and then Gen laid her down on the sofa with her new bunny friend. One of the new blankets now covers her. She couldn't remember anything else after that. She was out cold apparently.
"It seems we really tuckered her out." Olly smiled while stroking Lia's hair. "She has been out most of the day."
"I don't think she's ever fallen asleep while we changed her before." Gen said from the kitchen. "I'm glad she really is starting to trust us. She is just so sweet…"
