"Nathan".I said as I fell down in shock.I couldn't understand what's was happening. Many questions ran threw my mind.
"My king". Stephan said as rushed in with the royal doctor.I got up immediately and went outside.
"Stephan how did this happen".I asked dryly as Stephan came out.
"My queen I don't know".he said and I dragged him by the collar.
"How dare you lie to me, now speak the truth".I said angrily while glaring at him.
"My queen,the king sent me on an errand when I came back,I saw him in that state". Stephan said in shock.
"How did this happen".I said as I let go of his collar.
"Ariadne you have managed to kill the king".milan cried as she entered.with the rest of the family.
"What".I said.
"Lady milan calm down ariadne wouldn't do such a thing".louise said defensively.
"Louise ariadne killed the king,she had a dangerous look in her eyes this morning". Milan said angrily.
"Ariadne how could you do this".lady Isabelle said.
"I always knew she wanted the throne for herself."prince martins said.
"Killing the king was too harsh, we all knew you disliked the king.I am disappointed at your actions". prince clayford said. I couldn't understand what was going on, they were all blaming me for Nathan's condition.
"The queen has no hand in this,I met the king wounded when I came back".stephan said.
"Stop defending the queen for no just cause, she has a hand in his predicament". Lady Isabelle said.then I collected Stephan's sword.
"I have had enough of your drama,I didn't harm the king".I said angrily.
"You did, you always disliked the king and you talked down on him at every slightest opportunity,what did he do to deserve such cruelty from you".prince clayford said.
"Are you all being serious".I said as I laughed mockingly.
"She is insane".prince Martins said.
"How dare you laugh when the king is currently fighting for his life".milan said.
"You all are crazy,as far as I am concerned you all treated him like trash, you didn't even care for him and don't ever forget that I am the queen and I will not entertain any form of disrespect".I said while glaring at them.
"You don't speak to us like that".lady Isabelle said angrily.
"Lady Isabelle, don't ever underestimate and I will find out who did this to the king, if you people are not going to shut it,you can as well leave".I said. Everyone left except for Milan and Louise. I later begged louise to go to bed because she looked really tired and she left.
"Doctor how is the king".I asked as she came out.My legs were already aching me because we stood for a very long time.
"The king is no more, the knife was stabbed directly in his heart and he had already lost alot of blood....."
"Doctor go back inside".milan cried as she fell down.
"Doctor so you couldn't save him".I said. I hated him but why did my heart ache upon hearing the news of his death.
"I am.really sorry for your loss, the king didn't deserve to die like this".the doctor said while shaking her head.
"My nathan cannot be dead, why didn't I die instead I cannot live without him".milan cried.
"Doctor you may go".I said and she left.
"How can you be so cold".Milan cried.
"Stephan take care of her,I am going inside". I said as I entered the room and I locked the door.
Nathan layed lifelessly on the bed, I could almost mistake him for sleeping, he looked innocent but pale.I was too scared to touch him,my heart ached. He died an unjusful death. I couldn't cry even if I wanted to cry, I had no tears left in my eyes.I held his hand, it was so cold.
"Nathan I will make sure who did this to you, pays dearly for it".I said calmly as I let go of his hands. I began to search the room, if I could find evidence but I didn't see anything. I collected the royal seal and hid it in my dress,I opened the door there was no one there then I locked the door and went to bed.
I woke up early the next morning,I couldn't sleep properly.I got dressed and was about to leave the room when lily came in.
"Greetings my queen,you are up early". she said in bow.
"What's with the ashes and the black clothing".I said as we walked through the passage.
"My queen, the king has passed away you are supposed to be wearing black".she said.
"What's wrong with this blue dress, it's dark blue and the king made this dress, stop nagging me so early this morning".I said.
"But my queen".she said.
"Look lily until my husband's murderer is punished,I won't mourn him".I said.
"Greetings my queen".some servants said as I walked downstairs.they all looked at me in shock.
"Greetings,Iily I am very hungry".I said.
"My queen please". Lily said.
"Lily stop it,if you keep doing this I will ask you to leave".I said.
"I am sorry my queen".she said in defeat. I entered the dining hall.
"My queen greetings".The spokesman said in shock.
"Greetings where is the food".I said as I sat down.the table was empty.
"My queen greetings I am sorry,but I thought that the family was going to skip breakfast".the royal chef said in bow as she entered.
"And why is that".I asked.
"because the king has passed and this is the mourning period".she said.
"I am not mourning,so go in the kitchen and get me food he has another wife that will do that for him,I need all the energy I can get get".I said.
"Okay my queen".She said in a bow and left.
"My queen...."
"Keep your words to yourself I am not interested in it, don't announce the king's death to the public just yet".I said to the spokesman.
"Yes My queen".he said.The servants brought in the food,it smelled to nice.I served it myself.
"This so nice".I said smiling as I ate.
"Ariadne how could you be this wicked".lady Isabelle said angrily as she entered with the rest of the family except for milan and Louise.
"Mother calm down".prince Humphrey said.
"Just shut it".she said angrily.
"This is really nice you should try it".I said smiling.
"What nonsense is this".prince clayford said.
"I specifically told the chef to make something really nice,the king is dead you all should be happy now".I said mockingly as they sat down.
"You should be mourning,but instead you are behaving as if nothing happened I can't believe this".prince martins said.
"I am not surprised at her behaviour". Lydia said.
"Let's all quit acting, we all know that you all are very happy but don't worry I will mourn the king but first I will make sure that the killer is punished severely".I said smiling.
"Ariadne you are no longer queen".prince Martins said.
"I am still the queen,he hasn't been buried yet".I said.
"He will be buried tomorrow". prince clayford said smiling.
"Unfortunately It won't happen only I have the right to select the date for my husband's burial".I said as I washed my hand.
"you want the king's body to rot,I am his mother,I also have the right". lady Isabelle said.
"You all are insane,I will no longer tolerate any of your insults,the king is already dead there is no one to stop me now, you should choose your words carefully".I said as I stood up.while glaring at them and I left.
