After Emil and Riven left the room of Alaric, they were walking in the hallway. It was quiet, just the sound of the soft footsteps of Emil and Riven were there. They both were walking slowly side by side under the faint glow of academy lanterns.
Emil spoke first, breaking the silence.
"Alaric is not right, I know it. His condition was so miserable. It felt like he could die any moment."
Riven nodded slowly. "You're right, that kid was so pale, covered in sweat, and limbs were trembling. Nothing was right with his body."
They walked in the silence for a few more steps. Before Riven added more to his statement. "He's cracking, dying slowly, something is eating him from the inside."
After a while, they reached their dorm building, and their room's lights were dimmed. But, still, they were on. Luin and Kael were sitting on the sofa, they were waiting for them.
Kael looked up as soon as Riven and Emil entered the room.
