(Present Time)
I was still upset at past me for thinking that he was ready for that pain. It was the most pain I'd ever felt both in my new body and my old body.
Speaking of my new body, my name is Andrew Bowen, I had replaced Tandy and I was confused when I first arrived as I was shackled and felt very weak.
When the memories came, along with another bout of pain, although not even a quarter of the pain I felt when the remainder of my soul was merging with my body, I knew my circumstances.
And my circumstances were a lot less than ideal. Evidently, when I was only 10 years old, my powers had manifested and that was the beginning of my misfortune.
In this universe, which is an alternate Marvel Universe, mutants exist, but the prejudice and the hate is a lot worse than it has been seen in other universes.
My parents were scared of my powers, so was I, but unfortunately for the me at that time, I didn't have my meta knowledge and when approached by the government who had said they'd take me to a facility where they'd teach me to use my powers, I agreed and even convinced my parents, (who had said that they knew about a boarding school they could send me to) to send me to the government facility instead.
What followed that ignorant decision of mine, was 9 years of torture and experimentation to discover the limits of my powers and to discover if they could find a way to replicate them.
Unfortunately, with the memories I received, I had one final message from Raiden. He had implemented a DNA lock for my body, so no matter what happened, whether by scientific or mystical means, my DNA could not be replicated or changed.
It was that knowledge that made me even more sure of the reason for my most painful torture as they exposed me to so many different "tests" that would try to steal my DNA. But... it never worked.
Now here I am in my new body and I am relieved that my current complete soul only had to experience 7 months of the "tests".
In these last 7 months, I have been practicing my Lightforce manipulation and I have been able to form parts of many different constructs.
One downside is, whenever I was able to form a part of the constructs, I would be subjected to an electrical shock from the collar on my neck.
The other downside is that, once my soul completed it's merge, the mutant inhibitor collar no longer worked as I was no longer just a mutant anymore.
Before the merge, I could only form small balls of light about the size of baseballs and could sometimes form small sharp pieces of light.
After the merge, I was able to form bowling ball sized balls of light that could be exploded like a flash bang, large light daggers, blades, and even a sword once.
All these constructs were simple and I would have to concentrate a lot harder to form anything more detailed.
Unfortunately, I could never get that far before being shocked until I'd pass out.
It didn't help that the military scientists had discovered that my light could now heal me, and I was forced to undergo a whole new form of "tests"
These tests were to test how powerful my healing ability was.
I was electrocuted, whipped, stabbed, shot, poisoned, drugged, had limbs cut off, irradiated with different types of radiation, water-boarded, put in a chamber that removed oxygen, and finally burned.
This pain paled in comparison to the pain I felt from my soul merge, but this pain lasted a lot longer than the merge and it became worse because just as I would heal and feel that warm energy coursing through my body, the pain would return, never allowing me to enjoy more than a few moments of respite.
I healed from everything but left many scars on my body as evidence and I knew I'd have to get better with my healing ability to heal the scars as well. The only things that healed completely were my face, head, and hair. As if my healing judged that those things shouldn't ever be scared.
Speaking of my face and hair, I had very bright platinum blond hair that seemed to glow in the light, I evidently had sharp features, but also exuded masculinity. It is hard to describe other than saying I looked like a model.
My eyes were a light grey that seemed to look silver when the light hit it and when using my powers, my eyes would glow entirely white (Think Avatar State).
But, I had been harnessing my power to make my constructs sharper and I think I finally have a way to get the damn collar off my neck.
After making sure there were no guards around, I created a small light blade and put it underneath the collar.
I was lucky that I am unaffected by my own powers and I am glad that I had spent time testing how much power I could use before the collar registered it.
So my focus for the last seven months outside of dealing with the pain of daily torture, was trying to keep my power at the absolute minimum when making the light blade, so as not to be detected by the collar, while simultaneously making the blade as sharp and deadly as possible.
I think it has worked and I am slowly bringing the blade under the collar and I just have to apply some pressure which is easier said than done as I am still weak as we only get the bare minimum to survive here.
As I was twisting and turning the blade all of the sudden I heard a click.
*Clang*
The blade had finally cut through the metal piece that allowed the collar to fold and the collar fell to the ground.
After my success, I knew I had to be quick before the guards did their nightly patrol.
Why wasn't any of this caught on camera you might ask?
Well the reason for that is that I'd scream and beg towards the camera for hours at a time which was annoying the scientists and made some of the guards and a rare few scientists to feel bad for me.
To combat this, the scientists moved me to an entirely seperate area with no cameras and only had guards patrolling.
Getting out of my internal flashback of my situation, I made a larger blade, turned my hand towards my wrist and placed the blade behind the wrist shackle to eventually cut through it to which I then cut the other one.
I then did the same to my feet shackles and then stood up and looked at the metal bars that made up my cell.
Finding no better time like the present to try, I made a rudimentary version of a giant great sword and swung it at the metal multiple times
There didn't seem to be a reaction at first until the metal suddenly fell apart.
'Yesss!' I cheered internally.
I walked out my cell, walked slowly down a long hallway trying to be as quiet as possible to avoid alerting the guards until finally, I came upon an open area and walked out of the tunnel I was in and saw across from me, multiple other cells with different mutants.
I saw a mutant who had frozen the area on the outside of her cell, one who constantly tried to use his wind to push through the cell, one that seemed to have some sort of eye covering on his head, another girl with blond hair similar to mine but more yellow than silver as my hair was closer to in color.
I saw the last one bound in some sort of stretchy rubber restraints and seemed to be keeping him from speeding around.
I didn't know if it meant he was a speedster or something else.
All of this also seemed familiar to me, but I couldn't quite remember, it is most likely due to my weakened and malnourished body that is making it hard to think, not to mention my heightened emotions as I am running on adrenaline at my escape from my cell.
All I knew is that he and the rest of us were going to escape.
