The sun hung high as the trio made their way through the dense woods. Allen and Fina walked side by side, their laughter echoing through the trees like they were sharing the world's best inside joke.
"I'm telling you," Allen said between chuckles, "the way she was sobbing and clinging to me, it was like I'd performed some kind of miracle."
Fina snorted, her tail flicking with amusement. "Oh, please, 'miracle'? She was begging like her life depended on it. 'Please, please don't stop, I'll do anything!'" She mimicked Mirielle's desperate voice, sending Allen into another fit of laughter.
"Right?" he said, wiping tears from his eyes. "And when I told her to call me 'Master,' she didn't even hesitate. Just went full-on devotional mode."
"'Master! I'm your slave! Use me as you wish!'" Fina imitated again, dramatically throwing her hands into the air. "I thought I'd die laughing."
Rinni, trailing slightly behind, furrowed her brow. "What… are you two even talking about?"
