[POV: Solenne]
Solenne raced down the corridor with Ruvan at her heel to get to Thalos' study before everything collapsed.
The stone floor beneath their feet was crumbling and warping with every step, and the walls had started to take on strange shapes. She wasn't even sure she was heading in the right direction anymore, since the halls and doorways were beginning to look different.
"Thalos!" Ruvan called out in hopes of getting a response, but none came.
They raced around, dodging debris and jumping over strange furniture that floated through their space as they did.
There was no sign of any of the others, no soldiers or omegas, even when they passed by the servants' quarters and the throne room. Solenne's heart beat wildly in her chest—she just wanted Thalos to be okay.
Thalos was not only the person who could speak with her fluently, but he was also the only one who truly knew Ruvan's heart, and she appreciated his help in both aspects.
