As expected, after today's match ended, Feng Xiaotian was summoned by Feng Changlin.
After inquiring about the specific reasons, Feng Changlin and Huo Lie finally felt reassured.
In the blink of an eye, three days of arena matches had quietly passed.
The Seven Treasures team ranked first with forty-nine points, while Thunderclap Academy followed closely with forty-six points.
However, Thunderclap Academy's reputation had already been tarnished due to Ning Tianchen sweeping all seven opponents, combined with Yu Tianxin's actions on the stage.
Tied for third place were Chi Huo and Tian Shui teams. Auckland Academy came in seventh, and Flame Radiance Academy ranked last.
After announcing the rankings, Ke Jie reminded everyone, "The arena matches have concluded. Tomorrow, the team battles will begin. Please prepare accordingly. Now, I invite the instructors of each team to the main platform to draw lots."
The Seven Treasures team securing first place in the arena matches was entirely within expectations. Ning Tianchen and his teammates remained calm, showing no excessive excitement.
The arena matches were merely a warm-up; the team battles were the true test.
After a brief celebration, everyone gathered together to wait for the results of the draw.
About the time it takes to burn one stick of incense later, Sun Buyu returned to the rest area with the results of the draw.
In the team battles, each team would only compete once per day, allowing participants ample rest.
"There's one bad piece of news and one good piece of news. Which would you like to hear first?" Sun Buyu teased.
"Teacher Sun, just tell us already—don't keep us in suspense," the group responded, feeling slightly annoyed.
Sun Buyu adjusted his glasses and said, "Alright, let me start with the good news. Due to your performance in the arena matches, Auckland Academy and Flame Radiance Academy have chosen to forfeit their matches against us."
"What's the bad news?" Ning Tianchen quickly asked.
Could it be that Thunderclap Academy also chose to forfeit?
Sun Buyu sighed. "The bad news is that I've received intelligence from the principal—over the next few days, the weather conditions will be poor, likely accompanied by heavy rainstorms."
"In thunderstorm weather, the attributes of Thunderclap Academy's martial souls will enhance their entire team's strength, which puts us at a disadvantage."
Because of the clean sweep of seven, Thunderclap Academy harbored immense anger. The upcoming team battle was bound to be an intense clash.
"The lightning attribute is the strongest offensive attribute. If they go all out, we might have to reveal some of our trump cards." As he spoke, Feng Xiaotian glanced at Ning Rongrong.
Her fourth soul skill could provide a shield for everyone, capable of withstanding Thunderclap Academy's initial assault.
Ning Tianchen didn't comment but instead asked, "Teacher Sun, which match is our battle against Thunderclap Academy?"
Sun Buyu replied, "Tomorrow, your opponent is Chi Huo Academy. You'll have a day of rest the following day, and on the third day, you'll face Thunderclap Academy."
Ning Tianchen leaned out of the rest area and looked up at the sky.
Based on knowledge from his previous life, it seemed unlikely that the thunderstorm weather would dissipate within two or three days.
"Let's first discuss our strategy for the match against Chi Huo Academy. We'll consider the battle against Thunderclap Academy the day after tomorrow."
"This team battle will take place outdoors, unlike in the Great Spirit Arena. We need to account for environmental factors."
The environment could influence a soul master's performance to some extent. While this was less critical in one-on-one duels, it was crucial in team battles.
"Windy weather benefits me," Feng Xiaotian said with a smile.
"In stormy weather with dim lighting, I can better conceal myself in the shadows," Zhu Zhuqing added.
Chen Huayu scratched his head. "It doesn't affect me much."
Yu Die sighed bitterly. "It will affect us sisters. Strong winds will impact our flight stability."
Not only them, but overly strong winds would also affect non-wind-attribute flying soul masters to varying degrees.
Hearing this, Oscar shrugged. "My flying mushroom sausages won't work as well under these conditions, so I guess I won't participate."
Sun Buyu said, "Tianchen, you're in charge of arranging the tactics. But the principal instructed me to remind you not to reveal any hidden strategies."
Ning Tianchen nodded.
He wasn't foolish—how could he easily expose his ace tactics?
---
The next afternoon.
"Do you have eyes?" A towering man, standing over two meters tall, glared furiously at Tang San.
Due to the man's imposing build, Tang San hadn't been able to avoid him in the crowded space, resulting in a collision.
"What do you mean? Xiao San had already stopped moving—it was clearly you who bumped into him!" Dai Mubai said angrily.
Tang San frowned. He sensed that the man was deliberately causing trouble, and it seemed more than just targeting him personally.
"So what?" The man crossed his arms and arrogantly declared, "I'm in a bad mood today—I just want to pick a fight with you guys."
Tang San's gaze turned cold.
Looking for trouble unnecessarily was already a death wish.
His left hand concealed behind his back, the hidden weapon hidden in his sleeve quietly readied itself. If the man dared to make a move, Tang San wouldn't hesitate to send him off.
Yu Tianheng, who had been following behind them, immediately rushed over upon hearing the commotion.
"Huyan Li, are you looking for a beating?!"
"Yu Tianheng, are you always sticking your nose into other people's business?" Huyan Li retorted.
Tang San's heart jolted. The double surname Huyan, combined with the man's imposing stature, made it clear that this person was a disciple of the Elephant Sect, as mentioned by Yu Xiaogang.
This year's academy exchange tournament hadn't invited anyone from Xiangjia Academy—so why were they here?
"Tang San is my teammate. Huyan Li, don't even think about using your tricks on him," Yu Tianheng sneered, assuming a fighting stance, ready to confront the man.
Huyan Li's strength was inferior to Yu Tianheng's. After a contemptuous snort, he turned and vanished into the crowd.
Yu Tianheng approached them. "Let's go. When dealing with people from Xiangjia Sect, don't show them any mercy—otherwise, they'll only get more arrogant."
"Tianheng, how strong is Xiangjia Academy's team?" Tang San couldn't help but ask.
Instinctively, he assumed that the bigger someone was, the stronger they must be.
Yu Tianheng couldn't help but chuckle. "Just a bunch of riffraff. As for that Huyan Li, if we're talking about real strength, both Mubai and I could defeat him."
"It's such a waste," Dai Mubai lamented.
If only he'd known earlier, he would have taught the guy a lesson.
---
Each of the eight teams had four matches scheduled every afternoon.
On the first day of the team battles, the opening match was between the Seven Treasures team and Chi Huo Academy.
After the referee announced the match rules, the players from both sides took their positions on opposite ends of the arena.
The soul battle arena used for team battles was several times larger than the one used in the individual arena matches.
"Feng Xiaotian, this soul battle will settle the grudge between us," Huo Wu sneered. "This time, we've prepared thoroughly—don't disappoint us."
Ning Rongrong did not participate in this soul battle.
Her soul skills provided instant boosts to her teammates, whereas Oscar's soul skills required consuming his sausages to take effect.
Since the pressure of this soul battle wasn't too high, Oscar's sausages were sufficient to handle it.
"Is that so? Then we'll be waiting."
Feng Xiaotian responded, and the match should have begun—but then an unwelcome voice interrupted.
