"Grandma said you must drink some water and have a snack before going back to your room," Emma said stiffly, grabbing Adam by the arm and forcing him down onto the dining chair.
Pain shot through Adam's shoulder instantly.
Just then, Butler Lo brought over a tray of snacks and delicacies.
Normally, Adam would be delighted to see such treats, but today he had no appetite at all.
"Butler Lo, I'll take it from here. Go check on the flowerbeds in the back garden and tidy them up a bit. Gilbert mentioned yesterday that there's going to be a party at home soon," Emma instructed.
Butler Lo nodded and left.
"Dean, let me ask you something. Have you met any other women lately? Maybe someone around Mommy's age?" Emma asked, probing cautiously.
Adam glanced up at her overly painted red lips and shook his head.
"I heard you don't want Daddy to marry Mommy. Why? Mommy raised you, yet you don't want us to be together. Don't you want a family?" she continued.
