The next day, at the second base.
It was early in the morning. The sun didn't even reach Mount Jorhud to rays the shines to the soldiers. Yet they all have woke up and they eat a simple breakfast. A piece of bread and a cup of water. That's all before they start preparing to dig trenches around the base.
"Let's move on lads! Move it move it!", Iunda tried again to motivate his men. And he too participated in the preparation, just like before.
But even digging the trenches, he seems can't get his mind straight. He always kept remembering about the previous attack. Where his men were quickly defeated while they were preparing. His hands seems shaking each time.
The soldiers around him saw his shaking hands. They murmured among themselves about that.
"No way, is he shaking?.. Shit is our enemy that strong that he's shaking?.. This is dangerous. I don't want to die"
"He's shaking? Really?.. Is the weather too hot?"
"Look at those shaking hands. I wonder how he got to be our leader, let alone being the Third General"
Iunda heard all those words. It was very mixed, some negative, positives and even neutral. But he didn't care. All he wants to do now is help his army defend the base.
Iunda stopped his digging and looked around his soldiers. They all were quick to notice before continuing their work and pretending to be busy.
Iunda seeing this just shook his head. He took a deep breath and release it.
"Haih, continue digging. We need to be dome by today! No excuse!".
It took them all rather like 3-4 hours until they were fully finished with the trenches. They took a rest and sat down, ate some soup to satisfy their hunger. The sky was for sure sunny which made their skin wet with the sweats.
Iunda was resting inside his room, sitting on the chair and took a hard look on the map. Their location was quite uneven, the base itself is surrounded by Hugh hills. Once the enemy reached there, they were quite literally doomed.
He knew he had to place his soldiers there. He put some Archer miniatures to indicate some archers are going to defend the hills, but not all of them. The archers were meant to be additional layer of defense.
Behind the base, was a stable with some horses resting there. The horses were to be acted as decisive retreat for Iunda and his orc guards. He knew the defend won't last long, but he won't retreat until then.
At Port Tarahud, located on the end of Fort Tarahud, connecting the fort with L'ayre Straits. Due to the port connecting both the river and the last base, it was considered one of the most strategical point.
The group of Elite Warriors finally arrived with the dragon Zhyrn. The dragon landed besides the port, it's feet harshly shifted against the ground. It roars in pain and rolled over, making it's passengers fell down.
Alwien was the first to fall, he's not asleep but he's pretty tired. He landed flat face on the ground, thankfully, the helmet covered his face. Fortunately, his face wasn't affected.
"Ah", he groaned softly. But he didn't moved even a bit, just laying there.
"Isn't the best I've had".
Eldah and Syansh were quite thrown away. Both the women landed harshest amongst them four. Syansh was quite literally rolled over for a few seconds before she got herself up, but for a throw up. Eldah on the other hand managed to not got herself rolled on the ground, but her legs shaking.
"I.... I don't want to ride a dragon anymore!" Eldah said before sitting on the ground, struggling to stand.
But among the chaos, Hais was calm. She not only sat on the least risky point, but when Zhryn landed, she landed smoothly on her arse. But she was sleeping during the ride, and once she landed. She simply yawned and woke up.
"Oh we arrived already? Good.", she stood up and looked at her chaotic teammates.
Alwien also stood up and brushed off the dust off of his armour.
"God dang it. How could we become as careless as we are now?... Nevermind".
Syansh stood up and took her chance to get close to him and used her some of her clothes to wipe the dirts off his face.
"How can you be so clumsy, Alwien? You're our leader after all"
"Heh... Not always were like this right? But I appreciate this, thank you, Syansh", he said to her.
Once she heard this, her cheeks got red a bit. She immediately pulled away her hand off him and turned her face down, trying to cover her embarrassment.
"It's... Nothing. Really.."
"Oh... Okay.. I got it", he said and he was as oblivious as heck. Not even knowing she just literally blushed in front of him.
Hais just watched the whole conversation. She knew her jealousy is boiling right now, but she had to be patience. Syansh is her teammate, and so is Alwien. Why must she felt this way? The feeling of... Claiming Alwien as only hers.
Hais just shrugged off her forehead.
"Don't let your emotions cloud your judgements, Hais", she murmured to herself.
Suddenly, 3 Khatardakian soldiers came and spotted them.
"Sir, we're from the last base of Fort Tarahud. We've been waiting for your arrival, Elite Warriors. Please, let us bring you to our base", the elf said and offered his hand to Alwien.
"Sure, why not.", Alwien accepted his offer and together, all 7 of them went to the base.
Few hours later, at the second base.
The battle was in progress. Archers from both sides return arrows to each other. Cavaliers and foot soldiers alike were seen pushing to the gates, a crossing the trenches. But the trenches really were slowing them down.
On the gates, Khatardakian soldiers were seen trying to hold the gates from being breached. They all were struggling hard to keep the gate not being opened.
On the hills next to the base, it seems the archers of Khatardak were trying their best on defending their position and releasing volleys of arrows to their foes. But they all were quick to be spotted by Erik the grey knight.
Erik was seen sprinting against the hill slope, trying to reach the archers soon as he could. The archers spotted him, the 2 metres tall, buff knight is running to their position. Arrows were releases against him, but it simply bounced off.
Shit. Fuck. We're cooked.
That's the suitable words on how to express their reactions now. Jo would have thought that their enemies, have such a big knight like him.
Once Erik arrived in front of them, he unsheated his sword and slash one of them, slicing him top and bottom, literally. The legs were quickly fell down and the body laid lifeless.
He then continued to take another archer leg and grips it until the bones literally broken like shrapnels. The archer screamed in pain but it was quickly ended when Erik slammed his body (the archer's) to the ground, splatterimg his bloods to his friends.
Fuck it. The other archers literally retreated back to the base, literally scared for their lives. Some were obviously peeing their pants, and only one of them literally shitting in their pants.
"Run away? You think you can easily run away from me? I'm not done yet!", Erik said before he literally jumped and landed on one of the Archer. Immediately making his body crumpled.
Then, he kicked another archer to the wall from his back, breaking his spines and ribcage. Another archers seeing this, tried to run away from him. That's their main objective in their mind.
But they forgot that the other soldiers were also there. Once they met, the archers still trembling took some time to aim to their enemies.
But Oufouni won't let that slide, he literally shoot one of them with his flintlock on their necks. Killing them instantly.
"Can't run away from bullets, lad", he said proudly before using his sabre to engage in close quarter combat with the enemies. Which of course, the victory belongs to him.
"Cmon pal. You're a bit late, don't you think?", Oufouni jokingly said to Erik soon as he finally gathered with him in front of the gate.
"Screw you. I'm the reason they come to you", he said seriously, but he's actually joking with Oufouni.
"Well gotta be fast then I guess".
