Bonnie hadn't heard a sound for a while. She quickly glanced around, summoned her courage, and inched ever so slightly toward the stairs.
The movement was so small it was barely noticeable.
Derek suddenly let out a low chuckle.
Bonnie: "..."
"You bastard, Derek Lee!" she snapped, flustered and furious. Eyes tightly shut, she looked both timid and fierce. "What are you laughing at? Go away!"
Hands in his pockets, Derek took a step toward her. When he was close, he crouched down slowly and said lazily, "If I leave, how are you going to get down?"
"I have my ways!"
"Oh?" He raised an eyebrow. "You used to always want me to carry you. Not anymore?"
"…"
He glanced at her casually. "This platform is over seventy meters high. The floor is made of glass, and with today's weather, cloudy and ominous, it looks like it might rain." He paused, then chuckled softly. "Are you sure you want me to leave?"
Bonnie buried her head in her arms and stayed silent.
