Chapter 77 - Chapter 77: The Big Maid and the Little Maid

Sena Town. (Fictional)

This city still preserved buildings left behind by its former colonial ruler, Spain. The vintage style made Aiden feel like he had arrived in Europe.

"Didn't expect the scenery here to be quite nice." Looking at the appearance of the small town, Leon let out an exclamation.

"No wonder you came here for a trip. Damn it, when will I also be able to travel around the world like you?"

"There will be a chance, Leon. Don't forget your current job," Aiden said. "Business trips can also be treated as travel. Maybe you can even get reimbursed!"

"Let's hope so," Leon said gloomily.

After the off-road vehicle entered the town, Aiden paid the guide a large sum of money. His generosity stunned Leon.

Even when getting out of the car, Leon was still muttering, "The payment you just gave the guide is worth two months of my salary. Can you tell me how you make money?"

"Blown in by the wind," Aiden could only say that.

"That must be the wind blown by the goddess of wealth, Waukeen," Leon muttered.

Then, Leon walked to the side and took out a satellite phone to contact his teammates.

"Hey, Krauser, where are you now?"

Even from several meters away, Aiden could hear the irritable voice coming from the satellite phone, "Damn it, I ran into some trouble. I really want to pull out my gun and wipe out these bastards."

Then Aiden heard a female voice from the phone, "Calm down, Krauser. They're just a bunch of civilians."

"So what if they're civilians? They're hindering me from carrying out my mission." Krauser shouted, "Hannah, don't get in my way. I'm going to take them out."

Listening to the conversation on the phone, Leon said, "Alright, calm down, Krauser. Now tell me, how much longer until you reach the rendezvous point?"

"Tomorrow, or maybe the day after," Krauser said after a long pause. He had been persuaded not to shoot by the woman called Hannah.

"Alright then. I'll wait for you. Hope nothing else goes wrong on your way," Leon said.

"Let's hope so." Krauser finished and hung up the phone.

(A/N: This was changed. Originally, Krauser arrived first, and Leon's plane was shot down, so he arrived last.)

"Your teammate doesn't have a good temper." Seeing Leon put away the satellite phone, Aiden finally spoke.

"He's always been like that." Leon and Krauser came from the same training camp and were familiar with each other:

"He likes to overthink, gets angry easily, and is always troubled by things."

"But I have no choice. He's my teammate," Leon added.

"People like that are hard to get along with. One day, he might do something extreme," Aiden decided to give Leon a little heads-up.

"It won't go that far. He's a pure soldier," Leon pointed to his head. "He's just very single-minded, simple in thought."

"That kind of person is scary. If he becomes fixated on something, he might follow that road to the end."

"I'll help him correct it," Leon said confidently.

"Uh... alright then," Aiden could only shake his head helplessly.

Then he asked, "What are we going to do now? Before your teammate arrives, we need to find something to kill time."

"Of course, find a place to have a drink," Leon clearly had done his homework, "This place used to be a Spanish colony. They produce a lot of wine, we can't miss it."

"Drinking, huh... that works," Aiden nodded.

"But you're paying," Leon suddenly hooked his arm around Aiden's shoulder. "You're the rich one."

"But didn't you just say your salary is high?" Aiden cried.

"But you also said your money was blown in by the wind," Leon chuckled and said, "That beats my hard-earned cash by a long shot."

Facts proved that colonial history was just a thing of the past. Although Sena Town still retained some customs left behind by its former ruling country, in terms of alcohol, it had developed its own unique taste.

Located between the border of Colombia and Brazil, Sena Town's most popular drink was not wine, but fruit-flavored beer, which thrived due to the special climate of the rainforest.

The two found a regular restaurant. Each ordered a big mug of beer and sat by the roadside drinking.

While drinking, they chatted about recent events.

"Aiden, I heard that one of our security advisors is planning to establish a special anti-bioweapon investigative agency to replace the FBC." As comrades from Raccoon City, Leon didn't treat Aiden as an outsider and directly shared some information he knew.

"That has nothing to do with me. That's your country's issue." Aiden wasn't interested, although he had encountered both the FBC and that security advisor in Roanapur.

"You're right. That agency really has nothing to do with you. But, through some channels, I found out that one person in the planned new agency is related to you," Leon said after gulping down most of his beer.

"Who?" Aiden had only played the game and had skipped through some of the story parts, so he wasn't very clear about some plot points.

"Jill Valentine," Leon chuckled. "That female cop from Raccoon City."

"Jill... is she doing okay?" Hearing news about Jill, Aiden quickly asked.

"I heard she's doing alright. Someone gave the order to protect her. You know, some people in Congress don't like survivors from the Raccoon City Police Department and have been trying to get rid of them." Leon downed his beer in one gulp, raised his hand to call the waiter again, and continued, "The one who gave the order is a presidential candidate. He has many supporters and a strong voice, so don't worry. Jill will be fine."

"That's good." Aiden was silent for a while and then spoke, while also feeling a bit guilty in his heart.

"Heh!" Leon glanced at Aiden and patted his shoulder. "Tell me, have you made up your mind yet?"

"Made up my mind about what?" Aiden was confused.

"How to deal with your feelings," Leon had the expression of someone who'd been through it. "I remember very clearly, there's still that woman named Ada, too, right?"

"Uh..." Aiden didn't know what to say. After all, a few days ago, he had just slept in the same bed as Ada.

"Looks like you haven't decided yet." Seeing Aiden's slightly hesitant expression, Leon nodded understandingly, "Jill and Ada are both good girls. They're beautiful and have good personalities. If it were me, I'd also have a hard time choosing."

"But you can't let down either of them," Leon continued:

"And bigamy is illegal. This is the 21st century."

"I think... they probably wouldn't mind," Aiden scratched his head and finally squeezed out a sentence.

"..."

"Besides, I can't let down anyone," Aiden continued.

"Whatever," Leon shook his head. "I really don't dare to imagine what'll happen when the day comes and you have to get married."

Saying this, Leon took another big gulp of beer. Suddenly, a strong wave of envy surged in his heart. After all, the day before entering Raccoon City, he had just broken up with someone.

Sighing, Leon raised his hand again, ready to call the waiter for more beer. But at that moment, a surprised female voice suddenly called out, "Thank God, Aiden! I actually ran into you here!"

The voice came from behind Aiden, so before he even turned around, Leon had already shouted in an exaggerated tone, "Aiden! What am I seeing? A beautiful lady in a maid outfit is calling you!"

He saw across the street, a gothic-styled maid carrying a woven basket was looking excitedly at Aiden. Beside her stood a short girl who looked only thirteen or fourteen years old, also dressed as a maid.

Aiden already knew who it was the moment he heard the voice. He turned around and waved across the street to Roberta.

"Miss Maid, we meet again."

Roberta nodded firmly, handed the basket in her hand to the little maid beside her, lifted her skirt slightly, and crossed the street, running to Aiden.

"Aiden..."

Roberta seemed a little emotional, but seeing Leon beside Aiden, she immediately composed herself. She lifted her skirt elegantly and gave a small curtsy to Leon, "Hello."

"Ah!" Leon was stunned. He wanted to return the greeting like a gentleman but was still holding his beer mug, so he could only nod awkwardly, "Hello, Miss Maid."

Then Roberta asked Aiden, "Aiden, why are you here?"

In truth, she wanted to ask if he came to find her, but she held back out of modesty.

Aiden glanced at Leon beside him and said, "I'm here traveling. I've stayed in Roanapur for too long and wanted a change of scenery. I heard the rainforest view here is nice, so I came."

"Is that so?" Roberta, who rarely smiled, narrowed her eyes with a grin. Clearly, she had "misunderstood" Aiden's meaning.

This made the little maid next to her stare in disbelief. As her eternal role model, it was the first time the little maid had ever seen Roberta with that kind of expression.

"Miss Roberta… could it be, he's the one you and the young master often talk about, the guy named Aiden?"
