Sakamiya University
Main Parking Lot
12:24 PM
Kanna floated down gently, staring at her legs in disbelief. "Did…did I just…?"
A transparent notification screen appeared in front of her, displaying the names and details of the two newly acquired skills.

"Two new skills..! Haruto-kun, look, I got two! Madoukai and Madousei!" Kanna exclaimed joyfully, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she waved her hand toward him.
Haruto laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his head. "Haha, yeah… you did. Seems like our instincts are more dangerous than we imagined. Was that a move you were planning? You got two new skills in one go, hhmmnn…"
Kanna let out an astonished breath. "Yeah, every movement I made was something I had thought about just a moment before. But… I didn't mean to hit anything. It was purely experimental."
Haruto stepped toward her, nodding solemnly. "Same here. Our bodies just… know how to do it."
"And these two skills… Madoukai and Madousei. What do they even mean, Haruto-kun?"
"Madoukai… Madousei…" Haruto murmured, deep in thought. "Madoukai might be a special skill or a combat technique—something we can manually activate. As for Madousei… from that short description, it sounds like it activates under specific conditions. Could be a passive skill. I'm not really sure."
Both of them stood quietly for a moment, contemplating the surreal experience, trying to process what had just happened.
It was Haruto who finally broke the silence, his voice slightly trembling. "Kanna… did you notice something else?"
She tilted her head slightly, still hovering with ease. "Notice what?"
"You… haven't touched the ground. Not even once. Doesn't gravity affect you at all?"
She looked down at her glowing boots, her eyes widening in surprise. "You're right. I still haven't touched the ground even once. I don't feel gravity at all."
"Gravity...? What's that again?" she added with a playful wink.
Slowly, she floated closer to him, her expression turning serious. "Haruto-kun… these movements… they're too precise, too perfect. I've never learned Taekwondo or Kung Fu or any martial art."
"Yeah." Haruto murmured, his eyes filled with quiet awe. "I've never even held a real weapon before. Never trained in combat, not once. And yet… this feels natural. Like my body just knows what to do."
Both Haruto and Kanna stood in silence once more, caught between exhilaration and confusion. The strength and grace flowing through them felt completely natural. But neither of them could understand how or why.

Lobby and Hallways
"HHHHAAH..!!"
Gasps erupted across the lobby as countless onlookers froze in place, witnessing the unbelievable. The man with the massive scythe had just performed an acrobatic leap and slammed his weapon into the ground—unleashing a devastating wave of purple energy that vaporized two giant monsters in a single stroke.
"Oh my god! Did he just—did he just kill the monsters in one hit?!"
A stunned campus security officer stood slack-jawed, his voice barely more than a breath.
A female influencer, her hands trembling as she held her phone steady, recorded everything with wide eyes. "That purple slash actually just vaporized two giant worms instantly! That's insane…!"
Before the crowd could even process the scythe attack, their attention shifted upward.
The girl—still floating midair—the heat shimmering fiercely around her blazing boots.
FWISH… FWOOOSH… SWISH…!
She launched a series of rapid kicks using only her left leg, each movement precise and fluid, as if she were a trained martial arts master. With each strike, bursts of fire erupted momentarily from her boots—flaring in sync with her elegant, powerful motions.
Then, with a beautifully executed airborne roundhouse kick from her right leg, two blazing fireballs suddenly shot from her boots, arcing toward the front lines where a massive worm-like monster loomed.
The creature didn't even have time to react.
KABOOOM..!
The fireballs struck in unison—exploding into a brilliant flash—and the beast disintegrated within seconds, reduced to dust and flickering embers.
"HHHAAH..!!"
Several women gasped sharply, their hands shooting up to their mouths in shock and awe.
Silence fell over the entire lobby building. Every eye remained locked on the scene outside, unblinking. Even the most seasoned soldiers stood motionless in disbelief. Their rifles and machine guns had proven useless 1 hour ago. But now—two unknown individuals had taken down several of the same monsters in a single move each.
"She… That… That was Taekwondo? In midair?!" one college student stammered, unable to believe what he'd just seen.
"HWOARANG..!! YEAAHH..!!"
A group of excited students near the rear of the hall erupted into cheers, throwing their fists into the air.
"That girl was literally walking on air. How is that even possible?!" cried another young woman, staring out the glass lobby windows in disbelief.
"T-That was Chun-Li's lightning-fast kicks, but with fire! Is this even real?!" a young man shouted from near the front windows, still wide-eyed.
Aya Shina, reporter for Tokyo TV, struggled to keep her voice steady as she spoke live into her microphone, her eyes locked on the scene beyond the glass.
"Viewers, you're witnessing it live. That man wielding the massive scythe just released a purple energy slash after performing mid-air acrobatics. And that woman, floating in midair with boots that appear to be made of fire, performed a series of kicks and launched what looked like fireballs. Their attacks completely annihilated several of the monsters."
"We have yet to receive any official confirmation of their identities. Military and law enforcement here seem just as unaware. But one thing is clear—their abilities are like… SUPERHUMAN! Aaahhh…! I'm beyond thrilled to be reporting this to all of you live. Who are these two? Could they be… our heroes?"
Her voice trembled with a blend of excitement and awe as she continued broadcasting, her eyes shimmering with emotion.
Kenji, her cameraman, slowly panned the shot to capture the ashen remains of the disintegrated worms just beyond the golden barrier.
"They're literally turning those things to dust." he whispered, barely able to contain the tremor in his voice.
Not far from where Tokyo TV stood broadcasting, another reporter from Metro TV, Keiko Honda, was also reporting live with visible tension and awe in her voice.
"We are witnessing something truly phenomenal here at Sakamiya University! Two unknown individuals who descended from the sky just moments ago—each wielding what appears to be fantastical weaponry—have engaged and instantly eliminated some of the second wave monsters. Even the largest monster pulled back slightly, as if intimidated by the overwhelming presence of these two."
Her voice softened for a moment. Kojiro, her cameraman, drawing in close on her stunned expression.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we may be witnessing our first glimpse of real hope amid the terrifying second wave monsters that have gripped this campus and the nation in fear. Could these be members of a secret Japanese defense force we've never heard of before?"
Male students gaped openly, cheeks flushing with excitement. "She's literally a fire goddess. It's like she has been summoned from an anime."
Female spectators nodded fervently, eyes glittering with awe. "She's stunning! Look at how she moves! So beautiful and powerful!"
A military personnel nearly dropped his rifle, murmuring softly, his voice heavy with disbelief and relief. "The military had to exhaust all our heavy weapons just to take down fourteen giant monsters in the first wave... but those two? They took out some with just a single strike. Unbelievable."

Across Tokyo and Japan
Across Tokyo and all of Japan, millions of eyes were glued intensely to screens—smartphones, televisions, computers, and large public displays—as they witnessed the incredible spectacle unfolding at Sakamiya University since the monsters appeared 40 minutes ago.
Lunch breaks had come to a halt; bustling streets stood unusually still as crowds gathered around any available screen. People exchanged wide-eyed, astonished glances, unable to believe the reality before their eyes.
At Shibuya Crossing, thousands of people had been stopped in the middle of the road for more than 30 minutes. As if they had forgotten where they were going in the first place, their gazes were focused on the large public screen like a crowd watching a popular pop band concert.
The live news broadcast replayed the astonishing movements of two young individuals—one wielding a massive purple glowing scythe, another gracefully soaring through the air on fiery boots.
"I don't know." her friend replied, voice shaky but excited. "But did you see that flaming kicks? It's like straight out from a game or an anime. Unreal!"
His companion, a woman in her early thirties holding a shopping bag, whispered with awe, "That scythe… he swung it like it weighed nothing. Yet it destroyed those monstrous worms effortlessly…"
At a popular coffee shop near Akihabara, all conversation had ceased entirely for a while. Customers and baristas alike stared open-mouthed at the mounted flat-screen TV.
"Wait…did she just shoot fireballs from her boots??!" A university student holding her latte gasped audibly.
"Forget the anime conventions." muttered a young barista, nearly dropping a tray of pastries, "real-life superheroes just appeared in Tokyo!"
At a busy convenience store in Shinjuku, customers forgot about their half-completed transactions, crowding around the small television behind the counter.
"I can't believe this is happening! But this is from Tokyo TV live news. Just, who are they..?" The cashier, a young woman, clenched her fists nervously. Excitement radiating from her eyes.
Elsewhere, at a family home in suburban Tokyo, a married couple, was unable to look away from the mesmerizing display of power on screen from Metro TV live news.
The man whispered gently, arm around his wife's shoulder, "We may be seeing history right now. Whoever they are, they're fighting for all of us."

Main Parking Lot - Front Lobby
BZZZTT.. BBZZZTT..
"Haruto! Kanna! Can you hear me? Haruto? Kanna?"
A familiar voice suddenly echoed in both of their ears.
"L-Luna? Wait, is that you? Where are you?"
Kanna turned her head left and right, scanning the area in confusion.
"I'm still inside the second-floor conference room. I can speak to you both now because the awakening command you shouted earlier—Activate Astral Link—has connected your Sacred Madougu to me." Luna's voice came through clearly.
"My voice is being transmitted through your gloves."
"Oh yeah… There's a glowing blue symbol on the back of my right glove." Haruto murmured, momentarily surprised by this remote communication ability. "So that's how you're contacting us…"
"I need you to listen carefully."
Luna continued, her tone urgent. "The Chaos Beasts inside the barrier—the regular ones—are called Maelghor. You can think of them as minions. You shouldn't have much trouble dealing with them. But the massive one… that's the boss. It's name is Morthamraga. He's extremely dangerous if you let your guard down."
Luna's voice sharpened slightly, transitioning into a more serious tone.
"My two Absolute Holy Barriers—two giant golden domes—one is currently protecting the main campus building and the other one trapping all the Chaos Beasts inside the main parking lot. As you both probably figured out during the military's earlier heavy assault, the barrier blocks all attacks and direct impacts that happen inside. All Chaos Beasts and anything related to Chaos or Void elements can't escape, no matter what."
"But humans, all man-made objects, vehicles, and Madougu weapons can pass through freely, in and out. In short, the barrier only blocks Chaos-based beings and any attacks and its direct impacts from within—no matter how powerful they are. Even a god's strike won't get through unless I allow it."
She paused for a moment to let the explanation sink in, then continued with urgency in her voice.
"There are only eleven minutes left before my barrier disappears completely. You must defeat them all before the time runs out. I'll guide you from here as best as I can. Are you ready?"
Luna's voice trembled slightly with concern, betraying her unease. She knew exactly how powerful the enemy was. Her worry wasn't just about the time, but whether the two of them could truly defeat Morthamraga before the Absolute Holy Barrier collapsed.
At her question, both Haruto and Kanna found themselves falling silent for a brief moment.
Each of them remembered vividly the words they had spoken to the glowing lights—those mysterious, divine presences they had met within the realm of their subconscious.

(Flashback) - A Few Minutes Earlier
Before Their Transformation
Haruto Mori's Subconscious Realm
"Light-sama... If… if I can obtain power… then I…" Haruto took a deep breath, gathering his resolve before continuing.
"I will protect my little sister, my closest friends… Miyuki-san, and Kanna-chan. Anyone who threatens their safety… I'll fight them."
"I never really cared about others. I always tried to avoid getting involved. But this time… I need power. I need to fight back against those Chaos Beasts."
"If you would allow it… please grant me your power, LIGHT-SAMA!"
Haruto then bowed his head low, humbling himself completely before the floating violet light. He remained in that posture for several moments, waiting in silence—yet no response came.
Eventually, the light finally spoke, its voice echoing softly but with firm judgment.
"Your answer does not satisfy me!"
"Truthfully, I do not wish to accept you… for your heart is filled with wounds and disappointments."
After a long pause, the light's voice continued,
"Fine. I will lend you my power, for now. But I will be watching you closely. At any moment, I may take this power back… if I can no longer acknowledge you."
The violet light sounded slightly disheartened by Haruto's emotional state, but still chose to give him a chance.
"THANK YOU, LIGHT-SAMA!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!"
Haruto bowed deeply again, shouting his gratitude with all his heart.

Kanna Fujita's Subconscious Realm
"I-I… I want power. Onee-sama… If I can obtain it… then I… I will…"
Kanna's voice trembled as she spoke, her heart unable to lie. But as she found strength in her chest, she continued with sincerity.
"I will protect Miyuki-san. And also General Victor, and Colonel Hayato. My close friends from university. My professors on campus, my neighbors… and the people in my city. Um… now that I say it out loud, it sounds like a lot. Maybe too many? Or is it not enough? But…"
Then Kanna remembered the day she met him, three months ago. She had lost her balance on the train as it curved along the tracks. She stumbled, falling awkwardly onto the cold floor of the carriage, dropping everything in her arms.
Just as panic began to rise, a gentle hand had reached out to her. A calm voice had asked if she was alright. That was the first time she met Haruto Mori. He had helped her to her feet, gathered her belongings without hesitation, and smiled at her in a way that made her heartbeat skip.
The memory was simple—but to Kanna, it was everything.
Suddenly, her cheeks flushed a vivid red, as if struggling to contain the flood of embarrassment rising within her.
"But most importantly… I want to protect Haruto Mori. He's someone special. Someone very important to me."
"If those Chaos Beasts destroy the city and kill people… I won't be able to live in peace. I might not get to be with him anymore. I can't let that happen."
"Please, Onee-sama! I beg you… grant me your power!"
Kanna bowed deeply, tears gathering at the corners of her eyes, her entire body trembling as she pleaded from the depths of her heart.
"Oh, sweetie… you've touched me deeply." The warm, glowing orange light's voice softened, full of kindness.
"Very well. I will grant you my power. Use it well, and protect everyone from those Chaos Beasts."
"Thank you, Onee-sama! Thank you so much!" Kanna exclaimed, tears of joy welling in her eyes as she bowed her head low.

(Back to Present Time)
Main Parking Lot
"Haruto, Kanna, are you ready?" Luna's voice rang out clearly, echoing from their Madougu.
"Let's go, Haruto-kun."
"Yes, Kanna-chan."
Without another word, they dashed forward, soaring ahead at incredible speed.
