Chapter 25 - Ch. 025 - Which Path? [1]

"Welcome back, young master." Hoshuka greeted me as I entered the lobby. "How was the city?" She asked.

"It was great. There were lots of zolgarians around in the afternoon, so it was nice to talk to them as well." I lied. I did not talk to anyone. I rather be silent and observe than to socialize. Although, it isn't that bad to make connections with someone.

"That's good to hear then. Would you like to eat first or would you like us to set up your bath?" Hoshuka asked.

I furrowed my brows. "Hoshuka, I appreciate your service, but at my age I can do that by myself. Just tell them to prepare a light meal because I'm going to sleep as soon as I finish eating."

"About that…" Hoshuka trailed off.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Young master," Banther approached us. "Your parents want to talk to you."

"What? They're home now?" I asked.

"No, young master. They want to talk to you via Projector." Banther said.

Projector is a device which lets you communicate with someone from a long distance. It's like Facetime from Earth, but the Projector is only used for military and Royals.

We went through the Force Gate and arrived on the upper level above the floor where my parents reside. Apparently, this floor is only used for military meetings, family meetings, or classified meetings with the Royal family if they visit our home. Of course, since it is classified, nobody knows when they will visit. They only visit discreetly to avoid alerting enemies of the Royal family that would try to do something funny in our territory.

Two Guardians with a Force Level 3 were guarding the tall steel sliding door. As they saw the three of us, one of the Guardians placed his identification card in the card slot. The small screen turned green, and the steel door slowly slid open, revealing a room filled with screens, keyboards, and a circular table used for strategic meetings in the middle of the room.

And on top of the table, a huge screen that displayed Benedict and Christina's faces appeared.

"My baby, Arthur!" My mother, Christina Von, exclaimed. "You have grown so big you look like your father!"

"Please, not now darling." My father, Benedict, said while he was blushing from embarrassment.

"What? Isn't it true? Look at your young self from the past and your child and tell me the difference. None!" She answered before Benedict could say anything.

"I missed you guys." I quickly said with a smile on my face. "So, what do you guys want to talk about to me?"

Benedict opened his mouth first before my mother could say anything. "I'm sure you know that the age of 12 is a zolgarian's starting point, correct?" He asked and I nodded.

"Well, me and your father have been recently discussing which path you would choose." My mother added.

I forgot about this. When a zolgarian has reached the age of 12, they are given two options to choose which path would they prefer taking: enroll in the academy or go to the frontlines to gain combat experience for two years.

"You don't have to answer right away, son. But we will ask you this now: Which path do you want to go? Do you want to be in the academy or go to the frontlines?" My father asked.

"Take your time, honey. No need to rush." My mother said with a smile on her face. But her eyes were filled with worries.

Darn it. I should've thought about this a while ago. How can I forget about this.
