Chapter 24 – Sins Time Cannot Erase

The torches flickered with an unusual golden flame, as if the light itself respected the contents of the scroll. The stone shelves around them seemed to bow in reverence, silencing even the whispers of the wind. There was a sacred tension in the air — as if the temple itself waited in silence for the reading of a forgotten truth.

Adrian (looking at Cordelia, serious):

— So, can you understand what's written on the scroll, Cordelia?

Cordelia (still touching the scroll, her eyes glowing with divine energy):

— Yes.

Adrian (stepping closer):

— Then tell me.

Cordelia (taking a deep breath, her voice turning deeper and steadier):

— I'll begin reading the scroll.

She began to recite. The room seemed to dim, as if the world itself went silent in respect to the ancient words.

> "I am a sinner writing this scroll as a plea for forgiveness, though I know what we did lies far beyond redemption. So here is revealed what happened long ago, in an era where gods, monsters, and demons waged endless wars, bringing only death and destruction."

As Cordelia read, images began to magically form on the temple walls — living murals. Titanic beings clashed, continents shattered beneath their feet, and rivers of blood flooded lost civilizations.

> "In this place where human life held no value, we lived without hope — like animals, simply trying to survive each miserable day."

Human figures appeared on the murals: ragged, starving, crawling among the ruins of divine arrogance.

> "Then something happened that changed everything. One day, Mary — a simple and honest woman — was exposed to divine power. Because of that power, she conceived. Afraid for herself and the child, she kept it secret until the baby was born."

Cordelia hesitated for a moment, feeling the sacred weight of these words. The environment responded — a soft breeze swept through the room, carrying the scent of myrrh and incense.

> "He radiated divine light. It was then that Mary realized she had given birth to a god. And so, she named him Jesus.

But since he was born of a human mother, he had a human side — and it was this side that changed the destiny of mankind forever."

The mural now showed a child with golden eyes, illuminating a burning village. His eyes held no judgment — only compassion.

> "As he grew, he became stronger, gaining divine powers. He began healing and helping all he could. But there were always more: the wounded, the ones killed by monsters, the victims of battles between powerful beings."

The mural showed the young Jesus walking through battlefields, restoring shattered bodies, reaching out to destroyed cities.

> "That was when he understood: if he didn't change the world itself, no matter how many people he saved or healed, it would never be enough.

So, he set out in search of gods who thought like him. On that journey, he found allies — even a brother — who believed in humanity as deeply as he did."

Cordelia's voice faltered. Adrian watched her closely, his hand resting lightly on his sword's hilt. He knew they were uncovering something far greater than they expected.

> "Together, they formed a plan: to create a barrier that would separate humans from the gods and evil demons, banishing them to Hell — locking them away from the main universe."

The mural showed a colossal light being raised — a barrier between worlds, made of celestial weapons. Among them shone the Spear of Longinus.

> "But then... humanity betrayed Jesus.

They threatened him with the lives of innocent people, forcing him to surrender. The soldiers around him trembled, knowing that with a mere breath, he could destroy them all.

Even so, he surrendered — for mere humans. The same ones other gods saw as insects."

Cordelia took a deep breath. Her voice was trembling, but still steady.

> "With Jesus chained, they judged and crucified him. To kill him, I was given a divine weapon and pierced his chest. But even so, it was impossible for mere mortals to kill a god."

Adrian frowned.

— He... was betrayed... out of love for humanity?

> "So, he absorbed as many of mankind's sins as he could while sacrificing himself to complete the barrier with his own life.

This was his final salvation: protecting the humans he loved... until the end."

Cordelia wiped away a tear trailing down her cheek.

> "This is the confession of a traitor named Judas, who will burn in the flames of sin forever — unless someone ends this sinful existence."

The name "Judas" echoed through the walls like a cursed whisper.

> "Even after death, the power of Jesus still protects the innocents who enter this place.

If you defeat the final monstrosity and inherit the legacy, you will free all the innocents trapped in this divine domain."

Cordelia lowered the scroll with trembling hands, her eyes still fixed on the symbols that had now stopped glowing.
