The room was far too cramped to continue fighting. Sasuke burst through the hole he'd just blasted into the ceiling with Great Fireball Jutsu and landed on the rooftop.
Itachi wasn't far behind, bounding off the wall and launching himself after Sasuke. But Sasuke was ready—he wasn't going to give his brother even a second to get his footing.
"Die! Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
Just as Itachi touched down, Sasuke unleashed the technique without hesitation. A massive fireball, like a burning meteor, shot toward Itachi with devastating speed.
"Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu."
Calm in the face of the onslaught, Itachi quickly responded in kind. He formed the hand seals with fluid precision and expelled his own torrent of flames, colliding head-on with Sasuke's.
But Sasuke's fire was fiercer—hotter, more forceful. It pushed back against Itachi's flames, inching toward him with overwhelming pressure.
Blood streamed once again from Itachi's eyes. To match Sasuke's intensity, he imbued his flames with the black fire of Amaterasu, just barely managing to hold his ground.
At this point, Sasuke's Ninjutsu was not only more powerful—it was fueled by more chakra than Itachi had left.
Itachi's reserves were finite. Sasuke's, however, flowed like the tide: each wave might recede, but another soon followed.
The Sage Organ within Sasuke's body functioned like a second chakra heart, converting physical and spiritual energy into the purest form of Sage Chakra.
His flames roared with greater ferocity, threatening to engulf Itachi entirely.
But Itachi didn't back down. Focused, unwavering, he channeled more of Amaterasu's black fire into his own flames, resisting with every ounce of strength.
The air twisted and shimmered under the heat of their clash. Fire met fire, both brothers locked in a brutal battle of wills.
Sasuke noticed something—Itachi's fire had changed. The black flame had altered its nature, becoming more dangerous, more unstable.
Without missing a beat, Sasuke switched hand seals. "Lightning Style: Chidori!"
Crackling with power, the bolt of lightning tore through the air, piercing the wall of flame and streaking straight for Itachi.
Itachi dodged swiftly, narrowly avoiding the electric spear.
Sasuke wasn't done. "Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu!"
A stream of small, rapid-fire fireballs shot from his mouth, fanning out like a reborn phoenix charging toward Itachi.
Itachi twisted midair to evade the barrage, but Sasuke's momentum was relentless. Blow after blow came with deadly precision, forcing Itachi onto the back foot.
And then, Itachi revealed his final defense.
"Susanoo."
Scarlet skeletal armor erupted around his body, instantly shielding him from Sasuke's assault.
"Hahaha... Finally! You used it—Susanoo! Is this all you have left, Itachi? Nothing else in your bag of tricks?" Sasuke laughed triumphantly, as if he could already see victory within his grasp, Itachi's defeat all but certain.
...
Rain began to fall, heavy and cold, as the heat from their Fire Style clash distorted the atmosphere. A downpour thundered from the skies.
Sasuke extended his hand and caught the raindrops, savoring the brief coolness against his burning skin.
...
Above the clouds, Hyuga Gakuya stood, cloaked in mist and storm, untouched by the falling rain.
"Sasuke… let me give you a little boost."
Gakuya's chakra surged, stirring the surrounding clouds, feeding the downpour directly above the rooftop battlefield.
"The strongest strike Sasuke has ever unleashed... going up against the Yata Mirror's defense. I wonder if it can actually shatter it," Gakuya murmured with amused curiosity, eyes fixed on the chaos below.
...
Thunder roared across the sky, drowning the world in its sound. The rain poured harder. Lightning coiled through the heavens like dragons, glowing with deadly brilliance.
Sasuke's hand sparked with power, Chidori singing its sharp, electric song. Wings of chakra trembled on his back as he slowly ascended into the storm-filled sky.
At that moment, he looked like a god descended from the heavens—imposing, divine, untouchable. The storm raged behind him, a throne of thunder and rain.
"This technique summons the wrath of the heavens… I compress lightning and guide it down upon you… judgment itself, delivered from above. Let the sky strike you down and cleanse your sins in divine fire."
His voice echoed in the clouds.
Sage Chakra continued pouring into the storm from Sasuke's body, channeling through the clouds like a circuit. He raised his Chidori high, as if in communion with the storm.
The lightning answered.
A surge of blinding energy began to converge above Itachi's head, thick and furious as a divine executioner's blade.
"…You've really grown up… Sasuke."
Itachi watched, silent and still, a strange peace in his heart.
"And my sins… they really do deserve divine judgment."
...
"That strike… it's worthy of a genius. Worthy of all I've poured into him." Gakuya watched with the expression of a proud father, eyes locked on the massive storm gathering in the sky.
"This is a true fusion of Sage Art and Lightning Style—far more powerful than the Kirin from the original story."
"Sage Art draws on nature itself… and when combined with lightning, this is what it means to tame thunder."
"The lightning is compressed high in the clouds like a chakra cannon, then released at the speed of light… This isn't just an S-rank jutsu—it's a whole level beyond."
He watched with satisfaction as the colossal bolt of lightning grew ever more intense.
...
Itachi stood calmly beneath the swirling storm, staring up at the enormous lightning bolt bearing down on him. His expression was still as water, as if he'd already accepted everything.
Susanoo's skeletal frame fully formed, growing a head and limbs, then muscle and armor. At last, the dark tengu armor cloaked it in orange-red brilliance.
The half-bodied Susanoo wielded the Yata Mirror in its left hand and the Totsuka Blade in its right—an unbreakable defense and an unescapable offense.
The Totsuka Blade: a spiritual sword capable of sealing anyone it pierces into a drunken, illusory world for eternity, locked away inside the gourd-shaped hilt.
The Yata Mirror: a divine shield able to nullify all elemental attacks by changing its nature in response, and reflect all physical strikes.
Together, they created a nearly invincible combination of attack and defense.
But this attack… was different.
This wasn't a normal jutsu. It drew directly from nature, powered by Sage Chakra. It was beyond replication, beyond imitation—something that might actually break through even the Yata Mirror.
Gakuya was certain of it. Even if the Ōtsutsuki themselves stood in Itachi's place, without a proper defense, they'd be annihilated.
"This technique is called—Sage Art: Lightning Style: Judgment from the Heavens. Accept the wrath of the skies… and disappear!"
With a final swing of his arm, Sasuke released the thunder.
The condensed lightning bolt, seething with destructive power, exploded downward in a blinding beam, roaring toward Itachi with apocalyptic force.
