The rain started softly that afternoon. You ran to the window, pulling it open so the scent of wet earth could pour into the room. I followed you, and we stood there, side by side, letting the cool breeze kiss our skin.
"Let's go outside," you said with that spark in your eyes. We stepped into the garden, letting the rain soak us, laughing like children. You twirled in circles, arms stretched out, face lifted to the sky. And I could've sworn you were the most beautiful thing the rain had ever touched.
You turned to me, hair dripping, eyes glowing. I pulled you close, and we kissed again under the gray sky, our hearts drenched in the kind of joy you can't describe. There was no fear, no hesitation only love, raw and real and alive.
Back inside, wrapped in warm blankets and each other's arms, we listened to the rain hit the roof. I kissed your forehead and whispered, "This is what forever feels like."
