My immediate reaction to seeing the new notification was to test out this examine skill. However, there were still some things I needed to do. First was to update my stats before I lost those points.

My eyes immediately focused on the mate category. That was definitely new. Of course, I didn't really understand what the 75% meant. Not that I was going to focus on it too much.
I needed to first figure out what to do with my stat points. Last time I had given each stat a point to even things out. But now, I wanted to focus my stat points on Endurance and Charisma.
One so traveling would be much easier. As for Charisma, I hoped increasing it would help me perhaps charm my way into the Grasslands City.
Quickly adding four stat points to each stat, I glanced over my new status page.

Happy with it, I decided to turn my attention to my other reward - the Blue Lottery Ticket. Perhaps I could get a good reward with it, so I opened up Random Spin.

Shaking my head at the half completed thought, I decided to take the risk anyway. Afterall, some of the other rewards were still good. Plus I already had a skill I could use.
Before I could overthink it, I clicked on yes and watched the wheel spin for a moment. As it came to a stop, a new notification popped up.

Grumbling at the outcome, I opened by mailbox once more to retrieve the reward. The book wasn't a bad one since it had some medicine recipes, but I would have preferred the healing skill.
Too bad I had such a rigged system.
Once I was done confirming the book wasn't a flop, I placed it and my guidebook from quest two back into my bag. Now I could turn my attention to the examine skill.
I wasn't sure exactly how it worked, so I was hoping that with a bit of testing so I could understand it better. Of course, the first order of business was figuring out how to activate the examine skill.

[Allows the user to examine living creatures and obtain basic information about said living creature. Can use whenever with a cooldown period of 30 mins. Requires: 5 Mana per use and Intelligence 20]

Or I could just not be able to use the examine skill at all.
Huffing, I massaged my forehead, feeling a headache appearing. I was annoyed both at myself and the system. Mostly at the system though.
I had wasted eight stat points that could have easily been used to grow my Intelligence stat. On the plus side I now knew how to use skills, I just needed to get more stat points. Somehow.
Gosh this whole thing was frustrating to no end.
"Elisa?" A voice suddenly called out to me, bringing me out of my thoughts.
I looked up to see Ahi was awake and had shifted into his half beast form. He was gazing at me with a look of concern, sleep still evident on his face.
"Are you feeling cold, love?" Ahi asked as he pushed himself up to slither his way to me.
"No, I'm fine. You should rest." I forced a smile, not wanting to worry him.
He was barely getting sleep over the last few days, either going hunting or guarding the hut. It had me a little worried, despite his claims that he was fine.
The dark circles under his eyes said otherwise.
Besides, it wasn't like I could explain the whole system thing to him. Perhaps I could, but I honestly wasn't sure how to go about it.
Before I could overthink it any more, I unexpectedly felt Ahi's tail coil around my blanket covered body. He swiftly pulled me into his arms before placing a light kiss on my forehead.
"Sleep with me then." Ahi murmured against my forehead. "I want to hold you."
I smiled softly at him as I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Fine, but you have to promise that you'll sleep properly this time."
"I swear it." Ahi promised as he lay me down on his chest.
He was careful to keep my body wrapped up as much as possible before he curled his snake tail around us like a cocoon. I snuggled into the nook of his neck while his hand aimlessly dragged through my hair in a gentle manner.
Eventually, my eyes grew heavy and I drifted off to sleep.
