The upperclassman's face changed from condescending to angry. He knew Owen was making a fool of him. To be honest if it were me, I would also be angry, if the unwritten rules were written, they wouldn't be called unwritten now would they? "Don't worry, since you don't know about the unwritten rules, how about I help you with that?!" Markus smirked condescendingly. I could feel it, the bastard was about to do something stupid.
"Hey y'all look what we have here" he exclaimed gathering attention from the surrounding upperclassmen. "A bunch of first years, sniffing where they don't belong".
-"Heh, first years? haven't seen one since I became a second year!"
-"It seems we're gonna have some fun!" a boy Snickered.
-"They're rather cute though" said a girl with ash colored hair.
-"As seniors, it's our duty to educate them!"
The surrounding upperclassmen reacted to our presence in different ways, though most wanted to mess us up. "Now would be a pretty good time to play the arrogant young master card" I whispered to Owen. "Yeah if not we'd be screwed" Tokito added. Owen's face turned grim as he bellowed, "Do you know who this young master is?!" "He's overreacting" Tokito whispered to me. "No" I whispered shaking my head. It's necessary to make them cower.
-"Is this kid right in the head?"
-"I don't know, but maybe if we give him a little beating we would know."
"Okay, maybe he's overreacting a little bit" I whispered to Tokito. "You think?" he scoffed.
"I am Owen Hargreaves, the one true heir of the Hargreaves family, you even think about touching me, you won't know how you'll end up" I found my lips twitching, for God's sake I said act like an arrogant young master, not a clown. Though it kinda worked, I could see some of the boys who were already starting to walk towards us pause in their steps.
-"So you're a scion of the Hargreaves!?" a cadet asked mockingly. "Yes that's right, you touch any of us, you get what's coming to you" Owen affirmed. "Hahahaha, this kid, who does he think he is?!" said the cadet who asked the question. "A clown obviously!" another upperclassman snickered. "If he's a scion of the Hargreaves family, then I'm the patriarch!" another mocked. Things were not looking good, they weren't believing him. "What do we do now?!" Tokito whispered. "Why are you asking me?!" I whispered back.
"Just educate them a little and let them go, it should teach them not to break the rules" It was at this point that Marcus who had been silent since Owen started with his speech spoke up before turning to Owen and saying "You see this brat, this is how someone at the top acts, unlike you who constantly disgrace the reputation of us nobles. My words alone command respect!"
"You bastard you won't have the last laugh!" Owen muttered before exclaiming "Run!" I didn't need to hear another thing, Owen, Tokito and I bolted towards the portal station, but alas, they were second years, all of them were rank 2, even if only one star. They were too much for us especially I who was just a one star rank 3. They caught up to us in no time, not to mention there were many on the way to the station. The rest was us getting the beating of our lives. We couldn't even put up a fight. I swear even Aurora had never manhandled me like this. If there was one thing that puzzled me though, it was that they even paid the points for the portal, before throwing us in line a heap of trash.
"It was all your fault!" Tokito groaned as he tried to get off the ground. "How is it my fault, I was trying to show you a good time, it just backfired because of that bastard!" Owen retorted. "Remind me to pay back that bastard" I said. What set me off the most was that throughout, the bastard didn't even deign to look at Tokito and I, as if we were insignificant. Our bodies were bruised and battered, in fact our faces were swollen. "Fuck" I winced as I tried to get off the floor, every fibre of my body ached. "Are you guys not feeling any of these?!" I asked the two.
"We're rank 2, we have faster healing!" Owen shrugged. "And better pain resistance!" added Tokito. "Tch" I couldn't help but click my tongue. "Showoffs" I said, it was my fault for being weaker, but not for long. I brought out a healing potion and gulped it down. "Still revolting" I winced, but soon felt a cool sensation washing over my being. Alright since you're no more in pain let's get going" said Owen. "Not interested!" I replied without hesitation. "Your 'surprise' got us the beating of our lives, so pardon me if I refuse" Tokito replied mockingly. "Tch pu**ies. Your cowardice knows no bounds" he shouted after us as we went out the portal station.
As Tokito and I walked towards the special block, the cadets gawked at us like we were some animals in a zoo. I mean why wouldn't they, we were still bruised, and our clothes tell a story of suffering, all while we were almost completely covered in dust. "We're a fucking freak show" Tokito muttered. "Just ignore them" I drawled. We reached the block and got into the elevator, and soon it stopped on my floor. "See you later!" I said as I got out.
I got into my dorm and headed straight for the bathroom. After a pretty long shower—mainly due to me trying to get the sand grains out of my hair, I could have gotten rid of the sands with a just a word, but I wasn't feeling lazy today, and I kinda liked the hot bath. —Dry— I muttered as I came out of the tub. In an instant all the water on my body ceased to exist. "Now that's how you utilize reality breaking powers" I mused. Using equivalent exchange I exchanged my ingredients for food. After eating, I sat down to continue condensing my eighth star. I was almost halfway, and after this sitting, I knew I would pass the half point. I did that for the next four hours, and true to my calculations, I passed the half point.
And now it was time to go get another beating, albeit this one was from Aurora. "Sigh, my life has become all about beatings. And I've already resigned to my fate, am I becoming a masochist?" I shook my head before heading out. Soon I was before Aurora's office. "Come in" her voice echoed as usual before I could even knock. She sat at her desk—graceful as ever. "You look different!" she said gazing blankly at me. "Yeah I kinda got into a scuffle with the second years earlier this morning" I replied. Her brows quirked slightly in curiosity, the first emotion I had seen on her otherwise stone like face. "Did a second year come to the first year's dorm?" she asked.
"No it's..." I explained everything to her. "I see" she muttered. "Follow me, today we'll have an all out spar, with our bloodlines" the phrase 'with our bloodlines' made me gulp.
"Why?!" I asked as we entered the training room. We spar all the time, but never all out, or with our bloodlines. "Why because you seem to have too much time on your hands!" she replied. But I didn't have too much time, infact I'm always almost busy, everyday was hectic for me. "But don't worry, I'll suppress my rank to the same as yours" she said as if that would somewhat calm my beating heart down.
Soon we stood on opposite sides. An overwhelming violet aura suddenly erupted from Aurora's body rendering me motionless and unable to breath. 'A three starred rank 2' i marvelled, but then it started to go lower, until it stabilized at one starred rank 3. Now that I think about it, my aura isn't visible. I instantly created a gravity field around the same parameters as the training room. My intention was not to use 'null' or 'burden'. It simply won't affect her that much, adding to the fact that she can teleport anytime she wants. I wasn't planning to win, it just was not possible at this stage, maybe in the future, but for now, my goal is not to be defeated too quickly.
My intention was to use my gravity field the way I've been using it since last week and this week. Just like I used it against Raj, and other cadets I've fought. Where up is left, and down is right, and the funny thing, it doesn't affect me unless I want it to. "Begin!" Aurora said softly. Before she could even finish pronouncing the word, left became down as Aurora body swerved to the side, but alas just before her body could hit the walls in the training room, she disappeared.
