As the pact was made, I felt the sudden exhaustion and they had left me alone with Jullian mostly part of the time. It was fine and I didn't mind at all, as it was a good excuse to avoid everything.
That means that I can avoid him at all cost.
For two days, I refused to be alone with him, and thankfully none of them had the thought that of leaving me behind since Jullian was tasked to stronger our pact. I didn't plan on trying to ask him either if he had felt what I did.
Whenever he entered the room, he was accompanied by someone else. He didn't seem like he was interested in any of this happening, but I knew he was just to good at keeping his emotions at bay, that's what I've been observing him the moment I felt it. The bond I didn't know could existed. Whenever he spoke, I would try my best to answer with a few words as possible. If he so much looked at me a bit to long, I would pretended that I didn't notice anything—even when I felt my entire body burned under the weight of his gaze.
"Allora, I know this seems like something new to you but it seems like it I had to asked the obvious question," Juan asked sarcastically, "You seem to be fine being in a co-joint hip to Jullian for most part of the time."
"His presence made me feel better," I told him quickly, "His presence made me warm and nice inside."
"Of course," Marco answers quickly, "He's your pact, whatever energy you are taking from Jullian is going to be a nice feeling for you, and I seem to think it's working by the amount of blood pack Jullian is drinking for the pass few days."
I couldn't deny, the fact that there were not human at all, the amount of blood Jullian had drink was increasingly than usual. The others seem to not mind it as it comes natural for them but for me, it felt like my body was rejecting what I was seeing as I deemed it impossible I was partly vampire at this point. Surely, I felt no sudden thirst and the power of my strength was coming in, but it seems like it didn't feel the same for Jullian.
The others noticed. Of course, they did. Jullian was still the same person I had known for a while, but I knew that primal eyes as he eyed the bag, was thickening by the second as if he's loosing his mind and I don't know if that's a good thing.
I surely did asked them and Jullian seem to shrug it every single time they asked —saying it was the pact, but they all knew that this was different.
"You can't avoid this forever," Marco said, "This has never happened before, Jullian you are not getting the strength that we had hoped for, your getting weaker."
Jullian only snarls, "Shut it Marco, you can't say anything because your not feeling it, I'm fine."
Marco could only shakes his head, Aaron stood by the door quietly listening, "Fine, but we'll need to take Allora aside and —" But before Marco could come any closer, Jullian's bared his fangs at the eldest and Marco had to step back as Aaron comes pinning Jullian, I was getting used to this since this is his response every time they try to take me away from Jullian.
As Jullian bared his fangs his eyes was turning a shade of red before flashing back to his hazel colored eyes, and shakes his head wincing in pain. "I'm sorry," he whisper.
It seems like Marco was used to it before he looked over to me and ushered us out. Aaron pat Jullian's shoulders before he leave the tired Jullian—before throwing in the blood pact.
As we walked away from the room, Marco silent sigh made me feel guilty, "Marco I'm sorry."
He looks at me and smile, "For what?"
"Jullian, I don't know why his—"
"Don't be." Marco cuts, "Hendery, Cerius and Juan is looking for answers as for right now. You are not in the fault, this is something new for us, but as we can guess, the pact made him more territorial and it's pretty common for us vampires. Asserting dominance is not something you should be worrying about."
"But his excessive drinking?" I asked him quietly.
"Again, we didn't think he would be this hungry, but since his pact is fighting with your hybrid body, it's taking a toll, but it should not because of you, Allora." Marco suddenly pat my head tenderly and I stopped. "Don't worry about it."
and I couldn't just thinking about it, about Jullian and about Marco as he pat my head.
The perks of being a half vampire, in strength wise, different than the normal human, so here I was training myself. It felt like an eternity as I was still breathless from sparring with Aaron, my muscles were aching, and hand shaking. Marco was always staying by with Hendery and Cerius who came in later trying to bring a light mood for my training.
"Your doing good Lora," Hendery shouts from afar, "Maybe good enough to throw a punch at Aaron when he's a pain in the ass."
"Watch it," I muttered, reaching for a towel. "Aaron might throw the first punch to you first, Hendery, if you say one more word."
"I'll be the first to see it happening," Cerius laughs, "Wouldn't it be a comedy gold to see Hendery being beaten by Aaron."
There it is with the little quarrel, as I paid no attention. I sat down in the mattress trying to gain my strength when a cool sensation held my attention and Aaron place a cold drink beside my leg as he leaves to sit next to Marco.
I looked over to see and grab the drink quietly and sigh in silent.
"Allora, if your ready to call it a day," Hendery starts, "Come and join me with Cerius to do some hunting?"
"Hendery —"
"Oh come on Marco, we're save, its our land, she'll need to figure it out sooner or later, and it'd be good for her joints," Hendery was seconds away from sitting beside me as he held my shoulders, "She'll love a good midnight run."
Marco could only shakes his head, "No used in saying no to you Hendery, bring her back when needed, Jullian is not going to be happy if he knows."
Hendery rolls his eyes and he smiles at me, "Jullian needs to stop snarling at every person in this place, Allora is a human and allowed to do anything. He's just salty because his body is adjusting to everything." He look held me tighter, "You don't need to worry, we're going to have fun tonight!"
Oh boy it was sure that tonight, I might regret even stepping a foot outside.
