Chapter 117 - 117. The Abomination Unleashed

----

"You dare point your guns at me?"

Abomination sneered.

With a single leap, he crashed down in front of one of the soldiers. His massive hand, tipped with claw-like nails, closed around the man's torso.

CRACK!

Flesh and bone exploded outward, painting the lab in red and white gore.

"Use the tranquilizers!" General Ross shouted. He had contingency plans in place. After all, Abomination no matter how stable he seemed was still a product of the same chaos that created the Hulk.

And if they couldn't control the Hulk… well, no one really expected to control him, either.

TSS-TSS-TSS-TSS!

Dozens of tranquilizer darts launched toward the rampaging monster. Abomination batted most of them away effortlessly, but a few embedded into his thick hide.

"I'm your best weapon, General!" he snarled. "Let me prove it. Those weaklings? They're nothing!"

He turned and slammed his fist into the reinforced lab glass.

BOOM!

The same shatter-resistant paneling that could withstand truck collisions cracked and webbed under the strike. A chunk broke free and crashed to the floor.

Even military-grade glass couldn't stand up to him. That's how dangerous Abomination truly was.

The sound echoed throughout the base.

Scientists, who were still riding high from the successful serum trial, froze.

And then they saw him.

The beast had entered the lab.

"Mr. Blonsky! What are you doing?!"

"Sir! Stop!"

They knew him. Some had even worked on his original enhancement. But Abomination ignored them all.

He wasn't there to make friends.

He charged the lab.

The panic was instant. Several scientists began unlocking restraints from the four remaining test subjects hoping it might appease him or at least save themselves.

The enhanced subjects locked eyes. They could feel power burning inside them new, raw, and wild. Instinct kicked in.

Escape. Together.

"Hey, big guy!" Subject One stepped forward, flexing his newly enhanced frame. "Come at me!"

Nolan stepped away from the control panel, frowning. "Idiot. Picking a fight like that?"

Abomination was a Hulk-tier weapon. These guys? They were based on Luke Cage's enhancement line strength and durability, sure, but nowhere near that league.

They weren't even fully stabilized yet.

Connors moved protectively in front of Nolan. "Boss—what now?"

"Wait," Nolan said calmly. "If we make a move now, we'll become his new target."

His fingers subtly tapped keys on the control panel. A green interface flashed for a moment—but no one noticed amidst the chaos.

"You worms think you're worth my time?"

Abomination growled.

He moved like a missile. Subject One charged in—and was immediately sent flying.

One punch. That was all it took.

Blood trailed behind him as his body crashed into the wall, leaving a crater. He slid to the floor. Lifeless.

"Blonsky!!" Ross stormed in, livid. "That was a live test subject! You want to end up in court-martial?"

Abomination didn't even look at him. He was still riding the high.

And he knew the truth—Ross needed him. No other weapon had matched the Hulk. Not even close.

The other three test subjects bolted in different directions. Panic overcame their earlier bravado.

But Abomination leapt again—muscles surging with brutal force.

CRUNCH!

Subject Three was flattened beneath him, organs rupturing on impact. Still, the subject's body struggled to regenerate.

Abomination smirked.

"Not bad. You've got some tricks."

He raised a fist and brought it crashing down.

The subject's head exploded like a melon.

"Open fire!" Ross screamed.

Tranquilizers once again flew in from every angle—but Abomination ignored them, brushing the darts away like gnats.

Then he hunted down the other two. One by one.

Smashed. Crushed. Gone.

When it was done, he stood amidst the wreckage, blood-streaked and smiling.

"Much better," he muttered, plucking a few darts from his arm. "You don't need those failures, General. You've got me."

Ross clenched his fists, seething. All four viable subjects—gone. Data could be recreated, yes, but this… This was irreplaceable field material.

"You bastard," he hissed. "We worked weeks for that batch!"

"You had garbage," Abomination replied. "And garbage gets taken out."

His voice grew calmer. Reason was returning. The tantrum had passed.

But then his eyes fell on Nolan.

He grinned.

"Oh, look. The bug himself."

He leapt.

Nolan shoved Connors aside and backpedaled, eyes narrowing.

THOOM!

The lab shook as Abomination landed inches from him.

"Blonsky, STAND DOWN!" Ross bellowed.

But Nolan already knew—this wasn't about logic.

He actually wants me dead.

"Little scientist," Abomination growled. "You build failures. You build trash. Let me fix that."

He cocked his fist.

Nolan, despite his enhanced physiology, was nowhere near Hulk-tier. In front of Abomination, he looked like a child.

And that punch?

It was going to kill him.
