"How long are you planning to follow me?" Orochimaru asked helplessly, glancing behind at Menma, who trailed after him persistently. No matter what he did, Orochimaru just couldn't shake him off.
Orochimaru also wanted to learn the damn Flying Raijin Technique, but it wasn't something easy to master.
"What do you think? Isn't it obvious?" Menma replied casually, still following behind Orochimaru. He hadn't made a move because he believed he was persuading people with virtue.
If Shikamaru and the others heard that, they would definitely have a strong reaction—"Convince people with virtue???"
Orochimaru: "..."
Do you even have time to think like that?
Orochimaru's gaze once again drifted toward Kurama, who sat lazily on Menma's shoulder.
"If I help you, what do I get out of it?" Orochimaru asked.
"Oh?" Menma tilted his head thoughtfully. Then he said, "Orochimaru, do you know what kind of techniques those resurrected people used?" His question immediately piqued Orochimaru's interest.
Menma continued, "There are five types in total."
Orochimaru's expression shifted to one of surprise. Five types? There were still things in this world he didn't know? As far as he was aware, there were only two.
"The first one is Edo Tensei, which you're familiar with. It's an S-rank forbidden summoning technique developed by the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju. This technique calls the soul of a deceased ninja back into the living world, resurrecting them in physical form. It requires a portion of the dead person's DNA and uses a living person's body as a vessel. Then, it summons the soul from the Pure Land and binds it to the vessel, reshaping the body to resemble the deceased."
"The second one is Living Corpse Reincarnation, a technique you created. It transfers your soul into another person's body, allowing you to achieve pseudo-immortality. However, it has a critical flaw: you can only use it once every three years, and the host's will must be weaker than yours, or your soul risks being overwhelmed."
Orochimaru: Σ(⊙▽⊙"a
He involuntarily stuck out his tongue, trying to calm his nerves. How does he know all this?!
It was understandable that Menma knew about the Konoha-Suna invasion—after all, many people are aware of the plan. But this technique... this was his secret!
"Who the hell are you? How do you know so much?" Orochimaru finally interrupted, unable to hold back.
"Orochimaru, how rude. Didn't the Third Hokage teach you not to interrupt when others are speaking?"
Orochimaru: (ω)
(Sandaime: w(Д)w – Don't drag me into this!)
Menma pointed at Kurama on his shoulder and said, "Kurama told me. He's the oldest being in this world. He knows everything that has ever happened."
Kurama, who was once again being blamed: Online and annoyed.
First it was Danzo, now I'm being blamed again?
Kurama: Damn it!
Menma: Damn it! National treasure, my ass!
Kurama: Why me again?! I don't know anything!
Menma: Totally a novel plot.
Kurama: Didn't hear a thing. Not listening.
Orochimaru couldn't help but glance again at Kurama. Is he really that powerful? Powerful enough not to be sealed by Hashirama and turned into a Jinchūriki?
If Kurama heard Orochimaru's thoughts, he'd probably go twelve rounds with him on the spot.
"What did you just say, you snake freak?!"
Menma continued, "The third is an Earth Style-based reincarnation technique called The Soil of the Dead. The summoned soul retains its personality and consciousness but must still follow the caster's orders. This one doesn't require a living sacrifice."
"The fourth is Rinne Rebirth, a technique of the Six Paths that requires the Rinnegan. Orochimaru, allow me to expand your knowledge."
Orochimaru: "..."
He genuinely wanted to kill him right now. Nobody had ever acted so arrogant in front of him—Orochimaru!
"The Rinnegan is known as the Eye that Governs Life and Death. It originates from the chakra fruit of the God Tree and is the pinnacle of ocular powers."
Controlling life and death?
God Tree?!
Menma's words only raised more questions for Orochimaru. There were just too many things in this world he hadn't learned yet.
"One of the Rinnegan's techniques is Six Paths Reincarnation. It allows the user to summon the King of Hell and resurrect the dead."
"The fifth is a forbidden technique that uses the caster's own life force as a medium to surpass death. It's the one I intend to use to revive my parents. Theoretically, it should work."
Uses his own life? Orochimaru frowned. If he already knew the technique, what did he need help with? Was he asking him to find someone?
He was right. Menma simply needed Orochimaru to track someone down.
"As for the favor I need from you: help me capture Hidan from the Akatsuki. He has an immortal body, which I intend to use for the self-sacrificial reincarnation."
The Akatsuki? Orochimaru was, of course, familiar with them. They had approached him after he became a rogue ninja, but he had declined.
"I know the Akatsuki reached out to you once. I assume you turned them down?" Menma said nonchalantly.
After all, without Itachi in the Akatsuki, Orochimaru would've had no reason to join.
Orochimaru: You really are the tapeworm in my stomach.
"I want you to join the Akatsuki and help me capture Hidan. The group usually operates in pairs, and their movements are erratic. An undercover agent would be ideal."
And that undercover agent... is you, Orochimaru.
"What if I refuse?" Orochimaru sneered. He didn't want to give Menma the satisfaction so easily. The guy was unbearably arrogant.
"Oh? Refuse?" Menma said, smiling. "Kurama, it seems you haven't made an appearance in a while. Maybe they've forgotten how terrifying you are."
Kurama: Excuse me?
Offended, Kurama immediately leapt from Menma's shoulder and rapidly transformed into his true colossal form. In his left hand was a Rasengan, and in the right—a kunai. If Menma gave the order, Orochimaru would be smashed into next week.
Surrounded, Orochimaru began to sweat.
"Come on, Orochimaru. I wanted to persuade you with virtue... but you leave me no choice!"
Menma was about to strike—
"Wait! I agree!" Orochimaru shouted in panic.
"See? Wouldn't it have been better to agree earlier?" Menma said, dispersing his shadow clones while Kurama shrank back down and returned to his perch.
Kurama: How long is this going to take? Hurry up already.
Menma: Alright, alright. I'm on it.
Orochimaru: "..."
