For three days since Victor Frederick got back from his trip he has been trying to hold it in on how his wife has been on cold war with him, he doesn't seem to know who to tell his predicament, he can't even tell his parents because it will seem he's making up stories because, his dear wife is okay with him when there's a third party among them.
Right now his assistant has been zoning out that, he noticed the previous day but he let it slide.
"What's wrong with you Lauren, this is the ah_ God knows how long you've been zoning out since the day before, am not paying you to slack off" Mr chairman told him now frustrated with him as well
"Sorry Mr chairman it won't repeat itself" Lauren told him as tried to focus back on his work but the thought of not hearing from Claire since he left her apartment that night is killing him. She's the first woman he has ever loved this deep outside his mother, was he going through heart break or was it him just imagining things.
"Lauren I need a replacement by the end of the day" Mr chairman said out of the blue bringing Lauren back from his thoughts.
"Sir please it wasn't on purpose it's_ can I ask you some personal questions sir?" Lauren asked looking at his boss with hopes.
Victor Frederick saw the look in his eyes and he understands his assistant is going through some emotional breakdown.
"Yes you can Lauren"
"How can one differentiate between a break in relationship and a final breakup" asked Lauren
"Are you having issues with attorney Fredericks assistant?" Mr chairman asked surprised by his question he didn't know it's something related to his wife, how can both the boss and assistant be treating their men like this.
"Mr chairman did you hear me" Lauren called out as his boss didn't reply him after calling out to him twice, now it's the chairmans turn to zone out.
" It seems both women are mad at us both" Mr chairman told him
"What! You mean attorney Frederick is mad at you as well, but what could be the cause_ I tried explaining to Claire why I didn't return early as planned but she didn't say a word to me when I visited her at the firm then, I went to her apartment just for her to say we should go on a break" Lauren summarized
"Ask Fisher to come over now" Mr chairman instructed, he felt something off about everything, just then his secretary knocked on his office door before coming in, holding an envelope. Mr chairman was skeptical if he should take it from her.
"Mr chairman this just came in from the front desk" said the secretary.
"Lauren you can help with that" Mr chairman told Lauren who opened his mouth but no word could be formed.
The look on Lauren face as he brought out the content inside the envelope made Mr chairman to adjust on his seat.
"It's that bad huh" Mr chairman asked looking at Lauren
"Boss it's more worse than Lossing a billion dollar contract and the Fredericks empire" Lauren stated and out of instincts Victor Frederick said
