Chapter 47 - Chapter 047: Zephyr: I Might Just Lose Everything

Damn it!

Were they trying to bankrupt him?!

Zephyr stood there, his face dark as storm clouds, staring at the colossal tsunami blotting out the sky.

But, Did you think that was it?

Oh no… You're thinking way too small.

Just as everyone assumed it was simply a giant wave, something even more terrifying began to emerge.

From within the monstrous wall of water… came a swarm. A terrifyingly dense swarm of sharks.

Anyone with a fear of clusters would've passed out on the spot.

And once the tsunami fully took shape...

Everyone was left utterly speechless.

One elite trainee, on the verge of mental collapse, suddenly slapped the guy next to him across the face.

"It doesn't hurt… Yep, definitely a dream."

But the one who got slapped snapped back to his senses, turned around and smacked him even harder.

"You idiot! I'll show you if it's a dream!"

Yep! Not a dream.

This was real. The endless sea of sharks was very, very real.

A scene straight out of a deep-sea horror was now playing out right before their eyes.

"You maniac! Are you trying to destroy the entire elite training camp?!"

Beneath the towering wall of sharks and seawater, Zephyr trembled with rage.

If this had happened out at sea, he wouldn't have cared.

But this—This was his home, dammit!

And it wasn't just Zephyr. Even Sengoku and the other admirals standing atop the HQ rooftop stared in stunned silence.

To them, the attack wasn't necessarily terrifying. But the potential destruction of the entire training facility? That was a problem.

"YOU BASTARD, STAND DOWN!!"

Zephyr's furious roar echoed across the training grounds.

And then—he charged forward.

Not backward. Forward.

With a power and presence that shook the earth, the Zephyr that all the trainees knew dove headfirst into the coming sea of sharks.

His fists, pitch-black and crackling with arcs of lightning, hammered down relentlessly.

Each punch shattered dozens of sharks into spray and mist.

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

But despite his fury and strength, the tide was immense. In an instant, Zephyr vanished within the monstrous wave of sharks.

And still, the tsunami rolled on—unrelenting, towering, thundering toward the main building.

"Z-Zephyr-sensei…"

"Did he… die?"

"Idiot! Don't talk nonsense! Zephyr-sensei doesn't die—maybe he just got… swept away!"

Fueled by Kisame's terrifying chakra reserves, the ocean didn't falter.

The sky-darkening wall of water came crashing down, closer and closer with every second.

Most of the trainees were still frozen in shock

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM

And then, from deep within the wave, came the sound of explosions.

One after another. Getting louder. Getting closer.

Something was coming.

Everyone watched as Zephyr, still buried deep within the tsunami, continued to swing his fists inside the raging tide…

"Help him!"

In the end, Sengoku couldn't just stand by anymore.

If that wave was allowed to crash through, the Marines would be looking at building an entirely new elite training camp from scratch.

Even if Zephyr claimed he'd take full responsibility—

Sengoku knew exactly how much that man could handle. No way was he letting this go on.

"I'll do it."

Just as the others were about to leap into action, a figure stepped forward—Akainu, who'd been silent the entire time.

Standing at the edge of the rooftop, he stared coldly at the towering wave. His brooding eyes gleamed with a fierce light…

Glup… glup…

In an instant, the sound of bubbling magma echoed—like the heavy thumping of a furious heart.

With each pulse, thick black smoke billowed from his arms, which began to melt and shift—turning into flowing, molten magma.

He stepped forward to face the tsunami and nearly slipped right off the rooftop.

"Tch. To think it's gotten this far… I can't let this madness continue."

"Then allow me to protect this place."

With that, the magma on his arms began to churn wildly, like living cells multiplying and swelling.

"It's Akainu! Admiral Akainu's making a move!"

One sharp-eyed trainee spotted him on the rooftop and cheered.

But

As the call rang out and others turned to look, their excitement mixed with an even deeper sense of awe.

No one could've imagined that an unimposing, even kind of short fish-man could stir up this kind of chaos.

He'd forced two Navy admirals to step in—one former, one current.

Something like this had never happened in the history of the Marines.

"Great Eruption!"

A grim shout echoed out

Everyone looked up to see Akainu unleash his attack toward the wave.

His magma-coated arms writhed in midair, bulging like molten muscle fibers. The intense heat evaporated the seawater below, sending up thick white steam.

BOOM!

Midway through its flight, one of the massive magma arms exploded in the sky.

Chunks of molten rock burst forth like fireworks—giant magma bombs raining down.

They streaked through the air, trailing flames and smoke, crashing toward the tsunami.

Fsshh…

BOOM BOOM—!

Water and fire collided in thunderous explosions.

White mist and black smoke burst into the air, swirling together in thick, choking clouds. From the fog-shrouded sky, ash-black raindrops began to fall

A rain made of ash and steam-mixed mud!

"Damn it, Akainu… were you trying to kill me too?!"

Zephyr, still fighting within the watery chaos, flinched as a magma bomb exploded dangerously close by.

Sure, with his strength he wouldn't die from something like that

But Akainu hurling attacks without a care for friendly fire?

That ticked him off.

Still, since the man was helping save his precious property… he settled for just grumbling under his breath.

Without hesitation, Zephyr burst out of the tsunami, retreating beyond the range of the magma blasts.

"That guy…"

From a distance, Kisame squinted, his beady shark-eyes going wide as he stared at the figure standing atop the rooftop—Akainu, pulsing with magma from head to toe.

One after another, magma bombs rained down into the sea of sharks, erupting in bursts of fire and steam.

Originally, Kisame had been thinking it was about time to wrap things up.

But then his lips curled upward into a sinister, crooked grin.

"Magma, huh…"

"Alright then—let's play."

Still hidden within the shark-filled tidal wave, Kisame cranked his chakra output up to eleven.

The churning sea of sharks surged in overlapping waves. Even when blasted apart by magma bombs, new sharks immediately filled the gaps.

The technique was called Thousand Feeding Sharks

But don't let the name fool you. It didn't just summon a thousand.

As long as the user's chakra held out, the sharks would keep coming. Endlessly.

Pump chakra, get satisfaction. Keep pumping, keep smiling.

And right now? Kisame was having the time of his life.

"Bastard…"

Up on the rooftop, Akainu quickly noticed the shift in the shark sea. His glare locked onto the silhouette hidden inside—the fish-man beneath it all.

His dark eyes grew even darker, fury flickering behind the volcanic glow.

He remembered Sengoku saying this one was a new candidate for Navy admiral.

At the time, Akainu—believing himself the embodiment of true justice—had been glad to see strong new blood joining their ranks.

But now?

This guy was wreaking havoc inside the elite training camp—without a single care in the world!

Akainu was pissed.

And when Akainu got mad? Logic went out the window.

Didn't matter if you were pirate or marine—if you looked wrong to him, you were getting dealt with.

If they didn't rein this kind of person in now, he feared the Navy would just end up churning out more lazy degenerates like Kizaru or Aokiji… and it'd all fall apart.

With that thought, Akainu's magma surged again, heatwaves blasting out in every direction like the breath of a volcano.

"That bastard…"

Behind him, Sengoku and the other officers immediately realized what was happening.

They knew that look. Akainu had officially gone off the rails—again.

"What the hell is even happening right now?!"

Sengoku glanced around at the flooded, scorched chaos around the camp, then up at Akainu in front of him.

For a moment, he looked like he was this close to smacking his forehead and fainting on the spot.
