I went downstairs, still reeling from the chaos that had unfolded upstairs, my mind tangled in a mess of confusion and and a little bit of anger.
When I reached the living room, Elvin was already there, in the middle of some kind of tantrum. He was throwing things around vases, picture frames, anything he could get his hands on. The place looked like a war zone.
"Where is she? Where the hell is Anne?" Elvin screamed, his voice filled with desperation. "I'm not leaving until I see her. I need to pay my respects before I leave." His words were laced with something darker, a mix of rage and what seemed like possessiveness. He wasn't making any sense.
I stood there in the doorway, watching as Elvin continued his rampage, smashing anything he could find. Every crash of glass echoed through the room, adding to the suffocating tension in the air.
And then, just when I thought it couldn't get worse, I saw him.
