Chapter 64 - Carnage

"Surround it. It won't be able to pick us off one by one if we all attack it at the same time. "

His gruff voice responded, bringing slight hope to the remaining two members of his team.

The three individuals spread out in a triangular formation, keeping the boar in their center.

Suddenly, with a signal from their leader, they all rushed towards the boar at the same time.

The leader swung his giant saber with a loud yell towards the boar's head. This gave the woman, with her dagger covered in wind blades, who reached the boar's side simultaneously with the captain, the chance to launch an attack.

The woman held both daggers backwards and slashed downwards, releasing multiple wind slashes towards the boar.

Since it was preoccupied with the captain, it could not dodge, hence it was stuck in its joints, drawing blood.

The boar thrashed and kicked violently in pain, sending the captain back a dozen meters.

A hoof caught the woman in the side, sending her sprawling to the ground. The angry boar then turned to face the already injured woman.

The ground shook as it stomped towards the woman lying on the ground.

However, before the boar could reach her, a shining sword light landed on its body, drawing its attention.

The remaining team members have finally caught up with them. The Captain's cultivation was the highest, while the woman's cultivation of a wind element technique made her more agile.

Thus, the man was left as the slowest member of the team. However, his slowness was only relative to his partners.

After all, as the vice captain of their group, his strength had reached the fifth stage of the Golden Core Formation realm.

The sword light landed on the boar's flank, leaving a not-so-small gash. The boar howled in pain, turning to face the man who was still charging towards it.

The man's face paled as he realized he was still charging towards the boar. The other two were not in a position to help him, which meant he was going to be facing the boar head-on.

The boar, angered by his actions, didn't hesitate to turn around and charge towards him.

With a grunt, it directly tried to impale him on its tusks. However, the man reacted in time. He quickly placed his sword in front of him in a defensive posture.

This was done just in time because as soon as the sword was in front of him, the sharp and pointy tusk of the boar directly collided with it.

A sharp sound akin to metal hitting each other resonated through the surroundings.

A hint of joy appeared on the man's face. He was relieved that he was able to block the strike. However, his relief soon disappeared as a cracking sound entered his ears.

He looked down to see his Silver rank weapon filled with cracks. Before he could react, his silver longsword shattered into pieces just as the tusk of the boar gorged into his stomach.

The boar, which hadn't stopped its charge, continued going until it smashed into a nearby boulder.

With a few shakes of its head, the man who was previously impaled on its tusks was flying away to another corner.

His body now has a gaping hole where his stomach used to be. He couldn't be more dead.

All of this happened in a few seconds, so before the captain could rush to help, he was met with his dead vice captain.

He watched in despair as the light faded from his vice captain's eyes. Anger clouded his mind as he let out a loud roar in agony.

He started a mad dash towards the boar. The boar, enraged by the blatant provocation, didn't back down.

However, even though the captain was incensed, he wasn't acting rashly. Before he and the boar clashed, he suddenly leaped into the air.

He landed heavily on the boar's back and plunged his large saber into its spine. The beast howled in pain and started thrashing violently.

When the captain removed the saber and attempted to plunge it deeper into its spine, the wanton thrashing of the beast shook him off its back.

He was able to land safely and swiftly retreated in order to avoid the beasts' tusks.

However, this move inadvertently sealed their teams' fate. The boar's eyes had turned red from all the pain and anger.

It had just entered into a berserk state when it spotted a figure on the ground not far away from it, struggling to get up.

It was the female member of the team. Though she was not dead, she was in pretty bad shape.

The hoof she took to the side had shattered some of her ribs and caused her various internal injuries.

Previously, she had been knocked out by the impact, which was why she was able to avoid all the beast's rage.

However, now that she had woken up and was trying to get up, she had inadvertently drawn its attention.

The pain shot through her body as soon as her consciousness returned. She couldn't help but let out a slight breath filled with agony.

Her mind was still fuzzy, so she didn't remember where she was. All she could think about was the pain that was coursing through her body.

'What's going on?'

'Why does it hurt so damn much?'

'It feels like I was kicked in the chest by a boar.'

As soon as the last thought crossed her mind, her eyes shot open as she immediately remembered where she was.

She tried to get up, but her condition didn't make it easy. She was struggling when she heard a loud roar that reverberated through her soul.

She turned her head, and the sight that met her eyes filled her with terror. Her face paled with fright as she saw the massive boar barreling towards her.

The captain, who was on the other side of the boar, saw this scene and immediately became frantic.

He immediately started chasing after the boar and yelling. He was doing everything in his power to draw the boar's attention.

However, it was all for naught. The boar didn't even pay him any attention as it kept speeding towards the woman.

It only took a few seconds before the boar arrived in front of her. It drove its hoof into her body, crushing her bones and internal organs.
