Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: The Uninvited Chobung

Not only that, the Berserker's training requires constantly absorbing the blood energy of others, and this blood energy must come from strong individuals. Without the suppression of the Ghost arm and the madness it brings, ordinary people would not be able to withstand the chaotic blood energy. Before even making a move, they would collapse dead on the spot.

For an ordinary person practicing the blood energy secret technique, their limit would be two, but someone with the Ghost arm, even if they had never trained, could still reach a maximum of fifty!

Ordinary people practicing this technique could even risk losing their arm while trying to train, making it a dangerous and unrewarding path. With the willpower and endurance to take on such risks, why not just train in proper swordsmanship instead?

There's no risk, and it yields results far quicker.

But not everyone is sensible. Take that swordsman whom Ryuji had defeated earlier, for example. He was one of those headstrong types, but because he lacked the Ghost arm, his attempts at training almost killed him, and he couldn't even win against his peers.

It wasn't just that his swordsmanship was weaker, but his blood energy technique's power was only a tenth of what a Berserker with a Ghost arm could achieve.

Yes, the Ghost arm also amplifies the strength of the blood energy technique because the Ghost arm is far more resilient to impact than a regular human hand.

Thus, this technique is generally seen as an evil path.

"No wonder this is basically the Berserker's exclusive technique..." Ryuji couldn't help but mutter, but since it was essentially a free gift, he didn't mind too much.

However, just as he was thinking about it, a sudden noise broke his concentration. The next moment, a dagger reached through the closed window.

More acomplices?

His first instinct was that it might be the accomplices of the two from earlier. He subconsciously reached for his machine gun, but the intense dizziness made his movements slower than earlier. Before he could stand up, the window was forcibly opened.

In the next moment, a slim figure jumped into the room. Upon seeing the gun in his hands, the intruder snorted and immediately pulled out two daggers, preparing to throw them.

But instead of attacking right away, she spoke first.

"Hey, is this how you treat guests?"

The familiar voice made Ryuji freeze for a moment. He blinked groggily, turning his gaze to the newcomer. To his surprise, it was Chobung—her backpack slung over her shoulder, her chains and most of her gear missing.

Ryuji didn't lower his guard. Instead, he let out a sarcastic remark.

"Guests don't enter through windows, and I don't remember inviting you."

Chobung turned her head away, clearly annoyed.

"Then what did the ten gold coins mean earlier?!"

Under the pale moonlight, Ryuji finally got a clear look at her appearance. Most of the stains had been cleaned off her, and though her clothes were still tattered and torn, they were now clean. Her hair had been neatly styled, and while her scars remained, she appeared much cleaner and fresher.

Her expression, however, was complicated—a mix of forced strength and disdain.

"Oh..."

Ryuji muttered with a knowing tone.

"what oh?!"

Chobung tossed her backpack aside with a jangle of chains. Ryuji didn't pay attention to the noise. Instead, he moved closer to the moonlit figure before him.

"So, are you here to fulfill your promise?"

He had given her the gold coins earlier as a test and a tease, but he never expected her to show up on her own! And to top it off, she had even dressed up for the occasion.

Hearing his question, Chobung wasn't pleased and grabbed the collar of his shirt.

"Are you messing with me?"

"No, I just don't understand..."

"Do you think I'm the type to take money and not deliver?! I won't return your money, and if you think I'm not pretty enough or don't want to sleep with me, I'm not giving the money back!"

She glared at him, as though daring him to call her ugly, or she'd knock him flat.

"I paid for it, so of course I'll follow through."

Ryuji waved his hand and seriously looked at the woman in front of him.

"And honestly, I do think you're beautiful."

He spoke with genuine sincerity, and as he looked into her eyes, the moonlight reflected off her face, revealing several faint scars.

She froze for a moment, then turned her head away.

"You… are you serious? Are you brain damaged?"

Chobung instinctively exposed her belly and the side of her waist, where scars marred her skin. The smallest of these scars was at least ten centimeters long. The one on her stomach was especially long, running from her ribs down to her navel, while another on her right waist nearly reached her inner thigh.

These scars were testimonies of her past, the reasons behind her now intimidating and grotesque appearance.

"No, I really mean it. You're truly beautiful."

He gently caressed the longest scar on her stomach.

"You must've had a hard time, haven't you?"

That long scar, both wide and deep, clearly showed that this wound had nearly cost her life. The scars on her legs were equally close to severing her limbs entirely.

These were all fatal wounds, and for someone like her, surviving them was a miracle.

"You..."

Chobung instinctively thought she had encountered a pervert and was about to step back, but Ryuji immediately grabed her strong waist, gently caressing her skin and those scars.

Not only that, but he also swiftly grabbed her chin and kissed her lips.

Chobung instinctively resisted for a moment but then gave in, allowing his tongue to explore her mouth.

Ryuji felt a strange sensation. No matter how she appeared, she seemed like a novice in this area. The way she responded—her panic and confusion—was not something anyone could fake.

So, Ryuji softened a little, but he immediately felt something odd.

Chobung's saliva had a sweet, metallic taste—a sweetness that made him think of poison.

It was almost like poison in its effect. As soon as he tasted it, he felt his tongue go numb and heavy.

However, he glanced at the remaining medical supplies and various drugs in the room, feeling confident that he could handle this little setback. He pressed forward with his actions.

In the other world, he might have been unlucky with items, but when it came to medicine—he was never lacking.
