Chapter 71 - When Thor Also Got the Diary

Back in the day, God King Odin and his eldest daughter, the Goddess of Death Hela, had joined forces to bring blood and fire to the Nine Realms. They conquered the Nine Realms and became a recognized and powerful civilization in the universe.

However, over time, Odin and his daughter turned against each other, leading to a bitter conflict. In this battle, Odin was seriously injured. Afterward, he decided to end his warlike ways and embrace peace, though Asgard itself had been severely weakened in the process.

For instance, the elite Valkyrie unit was decimated.

It could be said that since then, Asgard had fallen several levels in power. Despite this, Odin remained alive, and many still feared him.

Thor, however, was unaware of these changes. He believed Asgard remained as powerful as its reputation suggested. Full of youthful arrogance, he started a war without authorization, thinking he could emulate his father and shake the universe with his strength.

But starting a war without the ability to deal with its consequences only led to arrogance. All of Odin's years of raising him as the crown prince seemed to have been in vain.

The more Thor thought about this, the more disappointed he became in himself. How had he grown into a brash man with little regard for the responsibilities of a prince?

How had things gone so wrong?

How had he gone astray like this?

It was almost enough to make Odin suffer a stroke.

In response to his son's failure to mature, Odin made a decision: if Thor didn't grow up quickly, Asgard would fall. Odin was nearing the end of his life, and Hela was about to break free from her prison. At that point, no one would be able to stop her.

Even if the throne was passed down to Loki, what good would that do? Loki might not even care about his Ice Titan heritage, but with his trickery and deception, could he really hold off Hela?

Not a chance.

"You wait patiently, and let the Nine Realms laugh at us!" Thor shouted angrily. "The old methods are no longer working. The Khazar Kingdom is on the brink of destruction, and all you do is speak!"

Upon hearing this, Odin could no longer suppress the fury in his heart. "You are conceited, greedy, and cruel!" he shouted.

Thor didn't back down, defiantly responding, "You're just an old fool!"

"Yes, I was a fool. I thought you had the qualifications..." Odin's voice trailed off as he became quiet.

"Father!" Loki tried to step forward, but Odin's glare silenced him.

"Thor, son of Odin, you have betrayed the king's orders," Odin declared, his anger growing. "Because of your arrogance and stupidity, you've broken the peace of the kingdom and allowed innocent people to suffer from the ravages of war!"

The more Odin spoke, the angrier he became. His scepter crackled with energy as lightning began to surge around him.

With a staggered step, Odin approached Thor. "You are not worthy of these kingdoms. You are not worthy of the titles!" he shouted.

Odin removed Thor's armor and cloak, one by one.

"You don't deserve the love of your family because you've betrayed them!"

"I will strip you of your power now. In the name of my father and grandfather, I, God King Odin, expel you from God's Domain!"

With a mighty roar, Odin unleashed a blast from Mjolnir, sending Thor flying to Earth through the Bifrost.

At that moment, Thor's mind went blank. He could only vaguely hear his father muttering to himself.

"Whoever holds this hammer shall have the power of Thor..."

This moment had been replaying in his mind ever since.

He couldn't understand what he had done wrong or why he ended up in such a position.

His father had used his overwhelming strength to dominate the universe, becoming the ruler of the Nine Realms. Whether it was the Flame Titans, the Frost Giants, the Dwarves, or the Elves, all had to submit to Odin.

So why couldn't Thor do the same?

Why hadn't Odin allowed him to follow the same path?

But now, Thor didn't have the luxury to dwell on his sorrow or confusion over being exiled.

Because, suddenly, a diary appeared before him.

He was certain it had appeared out of nowhere.

Although he had lost his powers and had to stay at the homes of several Midgardians for the past few days, he was sure he wasn't mistaken.

"What magic is this?" Thor thought, his combat instincts kicking in. He knew something wasn't right.

Magic wasn't unfamiliar to him, but this... this was different. Many forms of magic that could accomplish something like this flashed through his mind, but none of them seemed to match what he felt.

The title on the diary caught his attention: Luo Chen's Diary (Thor Copy).

Thor realized it was meant for him, though he had no idea what was going on. After thinking it over for a while, he decided to pick up the diary and read it.

As a fallen prince, exiled from Asgard, Thor didn't think anyone would be plotting against him.

He opened the diary, and the content at the beginning made him pause in confusion. His brow furrowed as he read on.

The weather is fine today... waiting for the first day of Tony Stark's kidnapping... the second day... the third day...

Who is Tony Stark? Thor wondered. What does he have to do with this Luo Chen?

But as he continued reading, Thor encountered something that caught his attention: the mention of a "time traveler."

"A time traveler? What is that?" Thor muttered, his mind struggling to comprehend. With his intellect, which he considered underdeveloped, he was having trouble understanding this concept.

"Ancient One? This mortal knows the Ancient One?" Thor mused.

He had heard of the Ancient One, a figure who wielded great power on Earth. Thor had once asked about Earth's sovereignty, which was recognized by the universe, but the Ancient One, despite her power, was seldom seen.

Odin, his father, had warned him about certain people on Earth that he should never cross. The Ancient One was one of them.

Thor remembered when he saw the Ancient One visit Asgard. She had been a bald monk, and Odin, the King of Gods, had treated her with great respect—on nearly equal terms.

Since that moment, Thor had known not to provoke her, even though his pride often made him feel like he could challenge anyone.

Still, he was not foolish. He understood who was worth provoking—and who was not.

For instance, the Dark Elves were fair game, and the Ice Titans could also be dealt with. But the Ancient One? No, she was someone to be avoided at all costs.

But what confused Thor now was that this mortal, this Luo Chen, seemed to know of the Ancient One's existence. It was not common knowledge among Midgardians. Most people had never heard of her.

Thor had never expected a mortal to possess such knowledge.
