Soul Stabilization: just as the name suggests, it stabilizes the soul. This is one of the many wondrous applications of Uchiha Madara's Rinnegan.
As Uchiha Madara spoke, an invisible ripple diffused from his hand onto Uzumaki Mito's corpse before him. Mito's soul, which had been on the verge of dissipating, restabilized within her body.
This did not mean Uzumaki Mito could be revived; she was still dead. However, Uchiha Madara had not let her soul pass on. Mito's soul was useful to him as well. By using Soul Stabilization, he anchored Mito's soul to her original body. The current Uzumaki Mito was merely a temporary vessel for her soul.
Having done this, Uchiha Madara calmly withdrew his hand.
And with Uzumaki Mito's true death, the Nine-Tails sealed within her body began to stir.
The sealing marks on Uzumaki Mito's abdomen began to glow. The sinister red light intensified, reaching a peak. Terrifying, sinister red chakra violently erupted, and a pillar of sinister red light shot towards the heavens!
The violent disturbance triggered immense shockwaves, once again drawing the attention of the Konoha shinobi on the battlefield.
Having experienced this once before, they naturally knew the Nine-Tails had broken its seal.
However, they did not panic. Compared to Uchiha Madara, the Nine-Tails hardly seemed significant anymore. Their spirits had already been crushed into numbness.
The sinister red chakra surged violently, ultimately coalescing into the massive form of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox!
Unlike the previous instance of breaking free, the last time the Nine-Tails emerged, it roared and caused a great disturbance. This time, however, although the Nine-Tails was out, it lay weakly prone on the ground, its signature nine tails drooping listlessly behind it.
This was because the injuries inflicted by Uchiha Madara had not yet healed.
Having finally emerged upon Uzumaki Mito's death, the Nine-Tails drooped its ears, cautiously surveying its surroundings. It lowered its head and saw—sure enough—Uchiha Madara, that scourge, was still here!
Uchiha Madara tilted his head back, meeting the Nine-Tails' gaze expressionlessly.
Suddenly, the Nine-Tails paled dramatically lose color from shock, because it only now realized that Uchiha Madara possessed the Rinnegan!
"You... How can you... How can you possess the Old Man's eyes!?"
Uchiha Madara smiled, a chilling smile:
"Oh? And why shouldn't I possess these eyes?"
"Impossible! The one who possesses these eyes is chosen, destined by fate!"
"Perhaps I am that destined person!"
"What!?"
"Enough, Nine-Tails. These are eyes I awakened myself. Accept reality!"
Raising a fox paw to cover its eyes, the Nine-Tails simply couldn't accept this reality.
It wasn't so much accepting reality as being unable to accept the person Uchiha Madara.
Mustering the little strength it had just recovered, the Nine-Tails suddenly bolted, scrambling on all fours. It turned tail and fled, dashing wildly towards the outskirts of Konoha in a desperate attempt to escape!
Uchiha Madara shook his head. Trying to reason with a beast was his own failing.
He stretched out a hand towards the fleeing Nine-Tails. His Rinnegan suddenly glowed with a faint purple hue. Uchiha Madara's hand abruptly clenched towards the Nine-Tails!
"Planetary Devastation!" Chibaku Tensei
An immense gravitational force suddenly focused on the Nine-Tails, pulling at it intensely. As Uchiha Madara raised his hand, the Nine-Tails' massive body began to float upwards, completely beyond its control!
The Nine-Tails' eyes flew wide, its mouth gaped. It instantly recognized the technique...
"No! Please, no! I just escaped that sunless place! I don't want to be sealed again!"
The Nine-Tails' wretched screams echoed throughout Konoha, yet not a single person pitied it.
Under the watchful gaze of the multitude, and within Uchiha Madara's nonchalant wind light line of sight, the gravitational pull on the Nine-Tails intensified relentlessly, becoming strong enough to rip rocks and earth from the ground!
Rumble... The very ground of Konoha began to tremble violently. First, buildings and rubble were ripped from their foundations by the gravitational force. This layer of debris was entirely drawn in, encasing the Nine-Tails' body!
Then, the earth began to fracture and collapse. Massive boulders were torn airborne. Before the shocked eyes of the onlookers, innumerable giant stones were drawn by the powerful gravity, adhering to the Nine-Tails, piece by piece, layer upon layer, until countless boulders completely enveloped it.
Finally, after devastating roughly two-thirds of Konoha's landscape, the mass of rock pulled towards the Nine-Tails coalesced into an immense sphere several hundred meters in diameter. Planetary Devastation was complete, left floating silently in the sky.
Gazing at the colossal Planetary Devastation suspended over Konoha, the Konoha shinobi were already struck numb, beyond further shock. One by one, as if stupefied, they stared blankly at the sphere in the sky, then shifted their vacant stares to Uchiha Madara on the ground, the one controlling it all. They sighed, falling deeper into despair and decadence.
The sealing complete, Uchiha Madara lowered his hand. Planetary Devastation remained floating serenely, showing no sign of falling.
Then, Madara retrieved a scroll from within his robes. With a swish, he unfurled it and deftly placed Uzumaki Mito's corpse, along with the heads of Senju Hashirama and Senju Tobirama, onto the scroll. He formed a hand seal, slapped it, and with a poof of white smoke, they were sealed away inside!
Rolling the scroll closed, he tucked it back into his robes. This whole affair was finally concluded.
Next was the matter of Konoha...
Uchiha Madara stood there, turning his head left and right...
He first turned his head to the right, his gaze falling upon Shimura Danzo, who was tightly encircled and protected by Root shinobi.
Caught in Uchiha Madara's sweeping gaze, Shimura Danzo instantly felt a chill run down his spine hastily raising his guard.
Uchiha Madara shook his head. A meddlesome rat, beneath mention.
Madara turned his head left, his attention shifting towards Sarutobi Hiruzen's group!
Things were much more interesting over with Sarutobi Hiruzen.
The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, looking utterly dispirited, was being supported by others. Konoha's White Fang, Hatake Sakumo, though holding himself rigidly, was also being supported.
Orochimaru stood there, his eyes glinting shiftily, clearly harboring ulterior motives. Jiraiya glared hatefully at Uchiha Madara, the very picture of a standard hot-blooded protagonist confronting the main villain. As for Tsunade—because her grandmother and grandfather had just perished at Madara's hands—her hatred was palpably deeper.
As for the other regular shinobi, an air of utter defeat and dejection hung over them naturally...
